How does he know the epidemic isn't spreading at all?

It's spreading now.

Angryrant55 · 22/03/2020 17:39

Alex Wickham - 'Think the PM has just said — though it had to be dragged out of him — that UK could be days away from a full lockdown with curfews and restrictions on people's movements.'

Angryrant55 · 22/03/2020 17:39

Beth Rigby - 'Dep CMO Jenny Harries: They’ll be “many more deaths”
But also says “we should be v cautious against a direct comparison with other countries like Italy”
PM today: “The numbers are very stark & they are accelerating. We are only a matter of weeks - two or three - behind Italy” '

SubjectMatterExpert · 22/03/2020 17:41

How many deaths in the last 24 hours, have they said?

CrunchyCarrot · 22/03/2020 17:42

If people can't keep children 2m away from each other

How many kids have you got again, Boris???

Angryrant55 · 22/03/2020 17:42

Mujtaba Rahman - 'In his roundabout way, @BorisJohnson
has just signalled that full lockdown is coming.'

Angryrant55 · 22/03/2020 17:42

Boris At least five maybe 6 maybe more.

AvocadoOwl · 22/03/2020 17:43

Whoa USA just jumped to nearly 14k new cases today (Worldometers)

Angryrant55 · 22/03/2020 17:43

BNO Newsroom - 'BREAKING: U.S. Senator Rand Paul has tested positive for coronavirus but is asymptomatic and 'feeling fine,', his office says.'

Yamayo · 22/03/2020 17:43

Quite frankly it's not the children he has to worry about. They were people of all ages picnicking and drinking a our local park today.

Alladdsup · 22/03/2020 17:43

Nevermind woodencoffeetable, it just would've been a simple way to explain because I feel like I'm the only one in rl taking this seriously. I've googled but can't find anything else that displays it so succinctly.

@Eeyoresstickhouse
So sorry to hear about your neighbour. I moved out 3 weeks ago because of similar circumstances after my DH nearly got into fight with neighbour over noise.
I feared so much going crazy locked in with their noise we found somewhere to rent at very short notice.
Please send your neighbour a letter explaining the distress their noise is causing you and how its affecting your health?
Is there anyway you can go to stay somewhere else for a few months ( not that you should leave your home!)
I rang environmental health nothing was done.
People are so selfish, anyway reading this with a lot of close proximity neighbours please be aware that others are frightened and need peace and quiet as far as possible.

AnotherNC45 · 22/03/2020 17:47

Oh my god 🤦‍♀️

It’s like he won’t even entertain another point of view.

chomalungma · 22/03/2020 17:47

Can they make their mind up about being outside?

Angryrant55 · 22/03/2020 17:47

Tom Nuttall - 'An hour after her statement, Merkel enters quarantine. Her doctor tested positive for Covid-19. She will be tested, too.'

chomalungma · 22/03/2020 17:48

Safe space

Grin
Angryrant55 · 22/03/2020 17:48

Beth Rigby 'PM asked again on lockdown. Tells the public to follow the advice. But..“If people can’t do that, won’t do that, don’t do then of course we will bring in tougher measures.” '

chomalungma · 22/03/2020 17:49

Good question about paying for the food.

Reastie · 22/03/2020 17:49

This doesn’t seem much of an announcement. Those who are highly vulnerable shielding info here I would have expected would already be self isolating. I hate all this ‘we are encouraging you’. I don’t think many people that need to listen will because they see it as not relevant to them.

SubjectMatterExpert · 22/03/2020 17:50

Only 11 new deaths? That’s not too bad?

chomalungma · 22/03/2020 17:51

Many older people don't have internet.

Free food for many.....

chomalungma · 22/03/2020 17:52

Pleading....doesn't cut it

Horehound · 22/03/2020 17:53

Lol Boris. Basically cannot fathom people are thick enough to not stick to social distance

Horehound · 22/03/2020 17:53

"it's not a hard thing to do" or words to that affect.

True boris. But people are STUPID

tigerbear · 22/03/2020 17:54

@SubjectMatterExpert the Worldometer site says 48 new deaths
