Anyone know what time to expect it today? Is Boris doing it today?

I see the BBC have a Coronavirus daily special 4.10-5.40pm today so presuming it will be then?

Do you think we'll have any announcements today? I'm hoping there are more lockdown measures announced. I think it's time to shut non essential shops and enforce social distancing.

Yes. 14% of all cases amongst that age group required hospitalisation.

Exactly how does this figure back up your argument that only people with pre-existing conditions require hospitalisation?

Salud · 22/03/2020 20:08

Do over 14% of 20-44 year olds have an underlying condition?

14% of people who have contracted COVID you mean surely?

Don't try to join the adult chat if you haven't understood the basic premises of the discussion.

Sammymommy · 22/03/2020 20:10

Salud, you just want a reaction. It's sad. Several of us have told you that lockdown or not, we would get the same amount of money.

Has someone with an underlying condition stolen the last cupcake last time you went to the bakery? Even if only the elderly and people with underlying condition need to go to the hospital/died (it's not the case), those people has the same right to live as you and me...

nellodee · 22/03/2020 20:11

Let me get this straight - you are saying that 14% of the 19-44 age group had underlying health conditions, and that it was precisely this exact group that required hospitalisation?

Or you are saying that only people with underlying conditions were tested as being positive?

Or you are saying that of the people who tested positive, a larger than normal proportion had underlying conditions, and it was this group that were hospitalised?

You seem to have a very specific way of interpreting the data. Is this a special power you have? Do you have any actual figures to support this unusual hunch?

slashlover · 22/03/2020 20:12

Terrified? Don't make me laugh.

Yes. Lots of my relations are elderly and/or have an underlying condition. My parents are 70 and 71, my aunt is 80 this year, my cousin works frontline NHS, my sister is a teacher and is having to go in. It terrifies me to think what could happen to them.

Makes me wonder if there's something wrong with you which you are projecting onto other people.

Eggcited · 22/03/2020 20:12

Terrified? Don't make me laugh.

Don't be so bloody callous. People can be terrified, it's a terrifying situation. But better to be scared and take preventative measures, than being one of the dickheads who only cares about themselves and goes about their business potentially killing someone in the process.

Wannabangbang · 22/03/2020 20:15

Think we are all actually terrified if not for ourselves but our family and friends. If you aren't generally scared then you are either blinded or have a heart of ice.

Salud · 22/03/2020 20:16

I am social distancing as advised.

Sammymommy · 22/03/2020 20:16

And I am sure every person who dealt with you every day is delighted about it...

Salud · 22/03/2020 20:20

I am genuinely not scared. I am taking proportionate precautions and if I get it, I will likely be unwell for a week or so. I obey all government advice including social distancing and hand-washing. If something is going to take me, it will. I'm quite fatalistic when it comes to death. You have to be. If I develop symptoms I will self isolate for 7 days and my family will also be in lockdown with me for the required 14 days. My friend had it, but now has no symptoms other than the cough. He developed it on the 7th March, so I'm leaving it until tomorrow week before meeting up with him to go climbing (outdoors - isolated).

Salud · 22/03/2020 20:21

And I am sure every person who dealt with you every day is delighted about it... Trying to insult me is wasted on me. But it does show your true colours.

PleaseStopCrying · 22/03/2020 20:24

so I'm leaving it until tomorrow week before meeting up with him to go climbing

So you are not following Government advice. Going climbing is not socially distancing or only going out if necessary.

Salud · 22/03/2020 20:25

It is - as he's already had it.

slashlover · 22/03/2020 20:26

Do you have any underlying health conditions? Do any of your friends or family? Do you not care about anyone else as long as you're ok?

Salud · 22/03/2020 20:27

No, No, I care about those I care about.

slashlover · 22/03/2020 20:27

It is - as he's already had it.

Can you show me proof which says that if someone has it once then they can't get it again? TIA.

PleaseStopCrying · 22/03/2020 20:28

It is - as he's already had it.

I must have missed the memo that said it was fine to do what every you like as long as you have had the virus. Thats not how it works social distancing doesnt mean going climbing.

BlushingBrightly · 22/03/2020 20:28

My PhD was in Criminology.

Ah, it's all clear now! #notarealsubject

slashlover · 22/03/2020 20:29

So if they caught it and died you wouldn't care? Or should we be doing everything we can even if that means lockdown?

Salud · 22/03/2020 20:30

Ok, since this discussion seems to have become all about me, I'll leave you to get on with it! Have a nice evening!

Wannabangbang · 22/03/2020 20:30

Im not scared of death as such, but scared of leaving my children motherless. Also scared of losing my mother before her time, shes in her 50s but has asthma, previous phuemonia and host of problems. Also scared of losing other people

PleaseStopCrying · 22/03/2020 20:31

Ok, since this discussion seems to have become all about me, I'll leave you to get on with it! Have a nice evening!

Roughly translated as stop asking me logical questions and using facts to disprove me.

FenellaVelour · 22/03/2020 20:43

And so what if they pass it on to healthy people? Nobody except extremely vulnerable are requiring hospitalisation.

Astounding. As are your other posts, Salud.

Sammymommy · 22/03/2020 20:46

Bye Felicia
