What large corporate companies are not paying their staff?

I have seen other threads about specific companies not paying their staff and closing the doors.
I would really like if we can create a list of companies who are paying and who are not.
Nespresso emailed to say stores closing but staff being paid
Home bargains are paying staff to self isolate AND any staff who don't will get 2 weeks pay later in the year
Whose doing good by their people and who isn't?
I want to make sure when all this is over, companies are repaid with my business in the way they treat their staff.

Good thread idea op.

AmIAWeed · 21/03/2020 17:32

Thanks @ssd it's a minor step but I plan to show my dislike to companies not paying by unsubscribing from emails. I'll happily write the reason why, send an email to their customer services team so they hopefully start seeing an immediate impact but also refuse to spend again with them

Lloyds pharmacy aren’t paying for self isolation - so sick people who can’t afford the loss are serving the most vulnerable

Easy jet have asked most staff to take two months unpaid leave

I need to sit on my hands. I work for a major retail company and have been told nothing. No clue. Nada. I want to say who they are but need my job so can't.

ssd · 21/03/2020 17:56

@TBHno, yes that the coylumbridge at aviemore, a very family orientated hotel, treating their staff abominable.

Goawayquickly · 21/03/2020 17:58

Wilkinson aren't paying from what I've seen on twitter, or the delightful phillip green,.

Haven are trying hard, giving all staff 16 hours cleaning and maintenance. I think they'd been open for 1 weekend of the season when they had to shut. It's better than a lot are doing I think.

ScorpionQueen · 21/03/2020 18:00

Not sure what they'll do if we go into full lockdown though...

allthingsred · 21/03/2020 18:01

Butlin's are paying staff til 16 Apr.

AntennaReborn · 21/03/2020 18:02

Other Stories and Bistrot Pierre are paying their staff

ilovecakeandwine · 21/03/2020 18:02

I think it's difficult, the likes of home bargains say will be getting a lot of trade so can probably afford to pay staff rather than say topshop that won't as much .
The same with easyJet who won't be making any money and will be struggling.

browzingss · 21/03/2020 18:03

Arcadia group laid everyone off

Wonder what John Lewis will do? They have a reputation for being quite ethical...

GrumpyHoonMain · 21/03/2020 18:06

John lewis is diverting staff to waitrose

Redhead37 · 21/03/2020 18:06

TUI have just made many redundant at the end of last week and asked everyone to take a fortnights unpaid leave or go part time on reduced pay.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 21/03/2020 18:07

It is hard for companies though as it's all about economic survival now. They'll be making tough decisions to try to ensure there's a future.

mollymoggs · 21/03/2020 18:10

Can these companies not apply to HMRC for their employees to have 80% of their wages covered as set out by the chancellor yesterday? Or have I misunderstood?

NettleTea · 21/03/2020 18:11

As well we need to name all the holiday companies that are refusing to refund because 'they are still open and its your choice not to come'

Im a tin pot company with 4 glamping units. We will go without any income this year and because of various reasons we are exempt from all support, so just covering bills will be around £18K

We are refunding everyone. When this is over, remember what the little companies are doing, because we feel its morally the right thing to do.

Remember the big companies that screwed over their customers and screwed over their staff. Lets move forward where we value empathy, kindness and those, big or small, who put lives above profit

I heard sainsburys are paying staff too if they need to self isolate for 14 days or are vulnerable and need the 12 weeks off. Good on them!
