What large corporate companies are not paying their staff?

I have seen other threads about specific companies not paying their staff and closing the doors.
I would really like if we can create a list of companies who are paying and who are not.
Nespresso emailed to say stores closing but staff being paid
Home bargains are paying staff to self isolate AND any staff who don't will get 2 weeks pay later in the year
Whose doing good by their people and who isn't?
I want to make sure when all this is over, companies are repaid with my business in the way they treat their staff.

Britannia need to close permanently, they're shocking. Worst hotel experience of my life ever.

Giganticshark · 21/03/2020 21:08

A customer told me Ryanair aren't getting paid. He is a pilot for them.

Giganticshark · 21/03/2020 21:09

My partner has had to let his 2 staff go without pay. He's helping them find other work and is very upset he's had to do this. But there's no money :(

Justgivemesomepeace · 21/03/2020 21:10

O2 telefonica are protecting everyone's base pay whether they are self isolating or at home with kids.

Giganticshark · 21/03/2020 21:11

John Lewis partners are ok, they're being sent to customer care and other areas within the partnership. Waitrose are paying if you're off due to self isolation etc

Estée Lauder companies and all the brands that covers (Clinique, jo malone, Bobbi, Mac etc) have been told that their last day is tomorrow until further notice, all on full basic pay. On top of that if they had holidays booked, if it was two weeks they can reduce it to one weeks annual leave taken and save the other for a later date. Anyone with one week booked still takes the week which is fair enough. They have had to make the decision to pull the staff from the retail stores as the likes of Debenhams and boots are dragging their feet on closing. I’m really proud to work for them at the minute and feel very lucky and supported. We were told earlier on this week before the gov announcement that anyone who was impacted by COVID19 in way would be paid in full.

Clarins have also pulled all their staff from Monday.

TUI is giving everyone a 50%/30% paycut depending on if they want you to do any work, of which there is very little. The 50% staff are essentially just on a retainer, our department have 0 work to do rn.

I actually think it's quite generous given that they are making 0 money right now from sales, but losing money from all the planes, hotels and ships they have to maintain, as well as cancellations and repatriating customers.

NameChangr678 · 21/03/2020 21:25

Oh, the call centre staff are on full pay.

Popuppippa · 21/03/2020 21:26

I think this will prove to be a line in the sand that people won't forget, a bit like the boycott of The Sun in Liverpool.

Employers will show their true colours and I don't think people will forget for a long time.

Some are behaving disgracefully and some are like beacons of shining light, taking a long view despite uncertainty and trying to do the humane thing and protect their staff and the wider public.

AmIAWeed · 21/03/2020 21:32

@notbeingfunnybut that sounds fantastic and a huge relief for staff I'm sure. I hate that Estée Lauder sell in China due to their laws but I do love Bobbi.

My company has been mentioned here and what's been written is wrong. Don't believe everything here.

browzingss · 21/03/2020 22:00

Hmm, I think Boots should stay open. There’s much more too Boots than beauty counters, their healthcare aisles are incredibly important.

B&Q are being bloody brilliantly to their staff. Pic from their website...

Amilivinginabox · 21/03/2020 22:23

Would just like to correct pp with regards to Wilkinson. Have been reliably informed that they WILL pay staff if they close/isolate and have sent staff in the at risk group home full pay.
Great idea for a thread OP although it could be hard to verify the companies that have not said anything publicly

Bringonspring · 21/03/2020 22:27

Great thread OP

I was in Homebase today (essential - we had an emergency repair to do), and there was 5 staff on tills. Two of them looked quite elderly, the rest young. The two elderly staff members were wearing rubber gloves and had trestle tables infront of their counters (presumably to enforce distance).

It's the last time I shop there for good. Those two staff member should not be serving customers in a busy store. They should be at home and on full pay

oncemorewithfeelingplease · 21/03/2020 22:47

ssd JL?

Emsmomma · 21/03/2020 23:36

I got an email from Sainsbury's this morning and whilst I can't remember what it said I sat back and thought 'this makes me want to shop with you after all this is over'

Bargebill19 · 21/03/2020 23:43

Tesco’s are being brilliant. Pay and a bonus to staff for putting in the extra work and putting up brainless customers. Help with childcare issues etc.
Now my company - couldn’t give a toss. Nothing said nada zilch. Not even a thank you. But that’s care work.

BilboBercow · 22/03/2020 00:51

Tesco paying anyone who needs to self isolate, even for 12 weeks in full. In the banking side where I work, they've secured staff free parking so those that drive can avoid public transport and have cut the price of food in the staff canteen in half. Pretty impressed by what they're doing.

thefourgp · 22/03/2020 01:13

I’ve heard Lloyd’s bank and ASDA have changed their paid emergency leave from two days to two weeks for those who need to self isolate which is really good.

The RSPCA are appalling to work for. They’re still sending out staff to non emergency call outs at all times of the day to homes and outside areas. Plus they’re not offering any financial help to their staff e.g. paid leave as above. And before anyone says ‘oh but they’re a charity’ - they’re one of the biggest and they have a lot of money.

The ethics of a company are clearly being shown in these difficult times.

19lottie82 · 22/03/2020 02:04

My friend works for Starbucks. They have closed all stores and staff will get full
Pay for the next month, after that the situation will be reviewed.

Namechange312 · 22/03/2020 02:21

I'm not at work due to DS having a cough and a temperature, I'm not being paid - Santander.

delilahbucket · 22/03/2020 11:35

@Namechange312 who said you're not getting paid? You get paid parental leave up to so many days a year automatically regardless with Santander (can't remember how many off the top of my head). You might want to contact HR tomorrow to clarify. My dp has been told not to go in next week and he's being paid. He still has to be available to answer customer queries on his phone or by email though, or go in at a moment's notice if staff are off.
