Diarrhoea, dizzy, shivery, exhausted - could this be CV?

I got up on Sunday morning and nearly fell over with dizziness. Then diarrhoea for around 2 hours.
All week since then have been having diarrhoea (no abdo pain) on and off, feeling really lethargic and dizzy like I just want to lie down all day (I can't!) and have a really hit face. I have a thermometer on order from Amazon since Sunday ( Prime - hah!) as I realised ours is broken (my bad, I shoukd have checked weeks ago) so I don't know if I have a temperature. I have no respiratory symotoms apart from a sharp pain that comes now and then in my left side around my diaphragm.

Could this be CV? Anyone else have symotims like this and tested positive?

Oooh and maybe too much information, but when I wipe my bum there is a thick yellow jelly on the tjssue - never had this before.

Diahorrea is not a symptom..

Jackrusselsarecute · 20/03/2020 10:59

It is being recognised as a symptom for some. Please take precautions as if it is Coronavirus, and I hope you feel better soon

Thanks Jack.
From what I've read, resp symptoms may not kick in until day 9-10? Has anyone else found this i.e. no respiratory symptoms until 2nd week?

OP posts:
BoreOfWhabylon · 20/03/2020 11:16

Some people get no respiratory symptoms at all. As Jack says, assume it is Coronavirus.

Frownette · 20/03/2020 11:17

I was dismayed this morning when someone in chat linked to a paper detailing digestive issues can be a first sign.

If you Google COVID-19 digestive then there's a lot of information on it. If it is or it isn't (likely isn't) you have to bear with it at present unless the respiratory system starts displaying signs. NHS only focussing on temp/cough.

anniefrangipani · 20/03/2020 11:18

The American College of Gastroenterology has said that the first symptoms are gastric, and that lack of recognition of this has contributed to covid 19's spread.

trevthecat · 20/03/2020 11:20

I had what I thought was a bug monday/ Tuesday. Just diarrhea. Now my chest is on fire, sore throat, headache, this morning a cough has started. I'm so weak. Not a temp though. Interested in others experiences as we can't be tested.

KnobJockey · 20/03/2020 11:22

Pretty sure I've got it currently, started with flu symptoms on Monday, sore throat, temp on Monday night/Tuesday (but not consistently), but cough only started last night. I came into contact with a baby with a very high temp last Friday, so that was more than likely when I became infected, so that means it's on day 7/8 that the cough has appeared, although it's faded again some this morning.

YouAreTheEggManIAmTheWalrus · 20/03/2020 11:22

29% have diarrhoea

Supersimkin2 · 20/03/2020 11:22

No.

KnobJockey · 20/03/2020 11:23

Headache is rather horrible

JMAngel1 · 20/03/2020 11:28

Bloody hell! Why aren't more people talking about this? Why is the official line just cough and temp?!!! This is exactly how it will spread.

Muuuuuuuum · 20/03/2020 11:32

I've had a week of tiredness, headache and sore throat with occasional feeling of tightness in my chest. I've felt like I am about to come down with something but it hasn't arrived.

Assumed unrelated to CV as no cough or fever but read yesterday of a confirmed case whose symptoms sounded identical to mine.

I have no idea if I have / had it - still think probably not - but we need more testing to help recognise variety of symptoms to stop spread.

Minesacider · 20/03/2020 11:32

I had an upset stomach (diarrhoea and upper abdo pain) the other day, now my throat is feeling slightly scratchy, as if there's dust caught in it. I'm trying not to jump the gun here, but at the same time dont want to ignore it if it is a possibility of COVID. I guess time will tell.

CadburysTastesVileNow · 20/03/2020 11:33

I had the bright yellow squits too OP. But nothing really since apart from burning eyes and feeling tired.

tempestterra · 20/03/2020 11:33

JMAngel1 I think a lot of symptoms still aren't recognised, I'm sure I've got it. Have the runs feel ver sick, well and sorry for myself in general. I've also had lung pain and the lungs on fire which I think is just severe reflux.
I wish PHE would pick up on these threads and get the message out there..
Take careThanks

Why do posters with no clue make bald statements like no, not a symptom when someone asks if XYZ could be a symptom of CV?

Yes diarrhoea can be a symptom and has been reported as such. The symptom data from China has been well documented. It’s not the most common symptom, like say a persistent new cough or temperature.

So OP, you may have CV or not. Remember 30-40% of cases are asymptomatic or mild.

Frownette · 20/03/2020 11:49

I've had similar OP with abdo pain, loss of appetite and 'interestingly' coloured liquid toilet incidents. No respo aside from ribcage hurts if I cough.

But there aren't enough tests at present and I'm not wasting 111 time on something they can't help with. If I had trouble breathing THEN I'd panic.

Agree there should be more awareness that this can be a symptom.

Only thing you can do really is take as many precautions as possible so as not to pass it on if it IS covid-19, and seek medical attention if it gets worse

trevthecat · 20/03/2020 11:58

@minesacider my throat is the same. Like dust in my throat.

LightAsTheBreeze · 20/03/2020 12:16

DH had the same symptoms as you OP and then 2 days later I was very violently sick but no diarrhoea, we both felt rough for a few days but no sore throat or cough so I doubt it was CV, This was about 10 days ago, my appetite is just returning now and I feel well so does DH

Minesacider · 20/03/2020 12:19

@trevthecat that's good to know, theres at least two of us Smile It feels too minor for what I imagine COVID feeling like, then you hear people being tested positive without knowing they had it. Of course it could easily be some other bug.

Whistle73 · 20/03/2020 12:34

I've had Noro this week, vomiting and diarrhoea - there's a load of bugs about. Pretty sure I haven't had Covid.

Pteuropa · 20/03/2020 12:37

My DS has abdominal pain on Saturday, diarrhoea on Sunday/Monday with lots of eggy burps followed by 2 days of feeling tight chested.

DH felt awful on Tuesday, shivering and aching, flushed in the face but not hot, slept all afternoon. Abdominal pains Wednesday and diarrhoea and burps all last night.

I’ve had abdominal pain all day yesterday, felt very nauseous all last night and have just started having diarrhoea and the same burps.

Fuck knows what we’ve got. At other time I’d say it was just a gastric bug.

I’ll update if anything more symptoms develop.

None of us have had a fever.
