Just interested to see what is happening in different areas around the UK right now. From high coronavirus areas to low coronavirus areas.

Leeds. Had to go to work today as not allowed to wfh. Streets seemed quite busy. Then I had to go to Tesco because I have no food in the house. That was heaving and there was no food to be had so I've had cereal for dinner.

BathshebasBane · 19/03/2020 20:38

South west here. Sticking to the guidelines. DH is now wfh and I'm on maternity So only leaving the house for essential shopping (baby milk if I can find it) getting everything else delivered.

Only time I go our really is for my physio for my back injury but I'm assuming that will stop soon.

FunicularVictorian · 19/03/2020 20:38

Scotland. DC still at (tiny, rural) school tomorrow, but once that finishes we won't go anywhere except sending 1 adult to the supermarket every 4 days or so. We can both WFH and live in a fairly isolated place. Our neighbours have been in and out all day though Hmm (not spying on them, layout of houses means we can't help but notice!)

ineedtostop · 19/03/2020 20:43

South east. Classed as vulnerable due to chronic respiratory condition. I locked down on Sunday and haven't seen a living soul since. I have supplies, wfh anyway, live alone and don't have a problem with my own company. Unless I get sick between now and next week, I'm going to be fine because I'm not going anywhere. Plenty of social and professional interaction via online platforms, exercise inside, and fresh air in the garden.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 19/03/2020 20:45

WFH as of today, but really this week have only been in the supermarket/work/home.

Salene · 19/03/2020 20:47

NE Scotland, working from home, kids off school and nursery all week and not seen or gone near anybody as per government advice . Had to go into a shop today but that was it. Take kids out but just been going to quiet woods where I've seen nobody.

moita · 19/03/2020 20:50

East Midlands. SAHM and DH is now WFH. Only going to shops if necessary. We have taken the kids out for walks and keeping a safe distance from others. Wouldn't take children into shops.

sweetkitty · 19/03/2020 20:54

Scotland just going out for work (I’m a teacher) and food oh and walking the dog.

Felicitycity · 19/03/2020 20:55

South East. Not seeing anyone outside my immediate family. We all need to do our best or we'll be forced into lock down.

Evennow · 19/03/2020 20:55

Currently, am walking to the supermarket (10 minutes) every 3 - 4 days for perishables. Long walk alone today, avoiding other walkers. Saw one friend & we conversed from a distance. When lockdown happens iI’ll be going out to the supermarket with much less frequency and, if absolutely necessary, for medical reasons - nowhere else. I won’t socialise at all but will phone, message, email or Skype. Intend to spend time home alone decorating & gardening.

PeanutButterKid · 19/03/2020 21:00

As far as I can tell, I am still going out. tbh, I'll stick with as normal a life as I can for as long as possible. This is going to go on for years, you guys know that, yes?

In last week, walked with friend & we stopped in a cafe. She is in middle of ongoing huge mental health crisis.

Went to work on train. Were 6-15 people on carriage that can hold 80.
I am One of 5 people in an office that measures 6x6m.
From next week I think I'll be only one in there.
Will go to swimming pool few times/week as long as they are open.
Went to post office today.
I will go 2 shops if need something.
Getting DS off screens involves long walks.
So lots and lots of going out, yes.

onanothertrain · 19/03/2020 21:10

I'm in Scotland, working from home this week. Been out to the supermarket once and for a run every second day.

EmpressSuiko · 19/03/2020 21:15

South West, DH is only going out for work or essentials, myself and the children are staying indoors and only going out when we need groceries, I am still walking the dog but we live in a rural area so it’s easy to avoid others.

dontaskformedicaladviceonmn · 19/03/2020 21:22

I went food shopping yesterday and a burger place today I even took my 10 month old ? I’m in easy anglia. There was quite a few people about not many mind. We are not high risk so hope I’m not being selfish ?

Of course you are. You could be carriers spreading it all over killing people. The whole point is essential trips only. Going out for a burger isn’t essential.

And the whole ‘I’m carrying on as usual’, ‘ there was stuff in the diary I didn’t want to cancel’, ‘there’s not many cases in my area’ (Well there bloody will be) all I can say is I hope when ITU is full and they are choosing who gets that last ventilator that you don’t get it.

Deelish75 · 19/03/2020 21:24

@BathshebasBane I saw some baby milk in M&S food today might be worth a look.

I had a food delivery earlier in the week but it had quite a bit missing so I went to Boots, M&S and Sainsbury's and managed to get bit.

DC are still in school so doing the school run. We walk home through the park but we're not going in the play area anymore.

Next week I'll be going to the above shops if I need to. We'll also be going for walks/scoots/bike rides in the park (but we'll stay away from the play area). We may drive to a localish National Trust Garden that is open or drive to the beach for a walk and some fresh air but we'll be avoiding people as much as possible.

Deelish75 · 19/03/2020 21:26

*Oh I'm in the South East

Robs20 · 19/03/2020 21:26

SE London. Haven’t left the house since Sunday (high risk) and desperate to go out!

TheVanguardSix · 19/03/2020 21:27

West London.
Just walking the dog in an open area with very few people around- fellow dog walkers giving each other a wide berth. I went into my local corner shop to grab some rice and essentials. Otherwise, home and hunkered down with the kids all week. I was in hospital all last week and that made me a bit nervous. A couple of people on my ward had pneumonia and were tested- came back negative.

Easilyanxious · 19/03/2020 21:27

South west now-have some time off but they expect me into work if symptoms free when time off finishes , though not an essential job and some could be done from home . Dh working still ,kind of a keyworker so going to work but they have adjusted what they do to limit contact but some jobs have to be done . Kids off school now and not going out . So next week just dh work only and he will pick up essentials on way home and takes dog for brief walk at quiet times . But had friend who thought was ok to just pop round and knock for a coffee and lots still just going about as normal. Enforced lockdown is only way some will listen I think

EmpressMcSchnozzle · 19/03/2020 21:29

South west, short walk along the beach earlier. Cold and damp, slightly fewer people around than normal, beach huts turned at angles from each other and moved apart. But then we don't go out much anyway and I've mainly worked from home for about 2 years now, using LOTS of that lovely ICT many people are just discovering. (My perfect job in a previous life would have been an ornamental hermit.)

We also take wipes and spray with us and anything that is touched (including the lock when returning home) gets sprayed/wiped/both and then hands are washed thoroughly.

(And no, we didn't panic buy, partner is a nurse. We've ALWAYS had plenty of Dettol and soap and the like in the house plus if necessary we could make soap at least.)

TickTockTickTockT · 19/03/2020 21:33

North West, I have to go work still. I only go to work, home & supermarkets. Tbh I don’t have much time for anything else. I’ll be going to BnQ tomorrow to get some DIY things to keep myself busy when we lockdown

wheresmymojo · 19/03/2020 21:33

Hampshire.

I've been in the house for a week and a half now.

DH leaves to go to work (gym), as much as I'd rather he didn't we desperately need the money so as long as clients come he will work. DH also gets the grocery shopping.

The only other place we've been is for DH to take one of our cats to the vets because she came home limping and has broken her foot Sad

I have been seriously self isolating because I'm planning one last trip to see my parents this weekend (we will all stay in at theirs) so I needed to make sure I was unlikely to take any virus with me. Might be the last time I see them for months as they live 200 miles away.

I'll be packing my own lunch and flask of coffee so that I don't have to stop at the services.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 19/03/2020 21:35

South

Ive been out at work, picking the children up and shopping

Thats only since the new guidelines were announced

When was that? Feels like forever a go already

Sonichu · 19/03/2020 21:35

Near Glasgow, still need to eat and still need to work so yes I'm going out.

Gertie75 · 19/03/2020 21:36

Staffordshire, been doing the school run, walking the dogs and going to the supermarket every day, other than empty shelves everything seems normal here.

I do wash my hands very frequently, using hand gel regularly and on the dog walks I'm sticking to places where there are very few people but it all seems in vain when I end up in the supermarket standing in a queue surrounded by people in a close proximity.

I think they'll need to start limiting the amount of people in the shops soon but then presumably we'll be in a queue outside the door.
