London lockdown by Saturday?

adiposegirl2 · 18/03/2020 17:48

I live in a top 5 CV London borough. went to the supermarket today.

I was the twilight zone. My children and I was in full protective gear complete with anti bac wipes to wipe down my shopping. But no one else was. I saw 3 people with rubber gloves but that's it.

I was openly ridiculed, laughed at, treble and quadruple looks, recorded. Hello we are in the grip of a pandemic!! Now I can understand how Noah felt when he was building the ark: except we all know what's coming, heck it's already here.

Methinks the severity of the situation is not getting through to people.

Now the schools are to be officially closed from Friday, considering London is a CV hotspot, I'd wager a London lockdown by Sunday night.

What do you think the likelihood of that is?

I think that's a bit rich coming from someone who went out to a supermarket
(with kids) dressed in PPE.

Given the context of the situation at hand, and considering I live in the CV capital of the UK whats your point exactly?

Does the M40 not cross the M25? (Go look closely at a map now)

You're no more knowledgeable than the next average Joe in this situation
Spot on however, I seem to be doing more with that same information than most. We may sit the same exam however some would get an A and another D issapointmemt

Ridicule me all you want but it is of nill effect as a snowflake I am not.

We are all keyboard warriors but verall, that was a very disappointing response indeed.

I think it's rich you calling someone a snowflake when you're traipsing to your local supermarket in a hazmat suit; pot, kettle, black...

If you knew as much as you think you do you'd understand that you can travel from the A40, to the M40 and onwards without touching the M25.

So please take the stick out of your arse and maybe swallow the D for disappointment you've just awarded yourself.
Your overinflated sense of self-importance is astounding; you're no better than anyone else on this planet m'dear.

Yeah, by the sounds of it , swallowing all the shit and regurgitating as facts?!

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 20/03/2020 00:41

Oh and Adipose- I'm a big Dr Who fan but know where to split real life and where not lol

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 20/03/2020 00:42

We will go into lockdown Friday after the schools kick out
Says who?

LangClegsInSpace · 20/03/2020 00:43

I missed the bit about going to the supermarket in 'full protective gear' Confused

That doesnt say much when your facts are wrong! You know sod all about viruses for starters.

StillDisappointed · 20/03/2020 00:51

@WotchaTalkinBoutWillis not just that, but making out that they're so intelligent to have managed to come up with those conclusions BY THEMSELVES.

The rest of us can only aspire to be as much of an independent thinker as adipose Hmm

Willow2017 · 20/03/2020 01:01

Hospital staff havent got full protective gear on ths front line! In fact i didn't see any staff with any protective gear at the hospital today.
What the heck did you wear? You cant say its obvious because nobody has a clue what you mean!

Well in trying not to swallow the virus actually. I am not in denial about CV. And it seems I'm in the minority in that respect on this site.
Given that I have started my posts with things like I theorize and my theory or I'd wager please dont go by sounds, my wording is clear enough. Again this is a public discussion forum- how/ what else should form the basis of my posts?

Please do not project your insecurities onto me on your poor grasp of the worldwide pandemic we are in the midst of.

Considering there is a whole section on Cv with dozens of threats in it you are hardly in a minority!
You've got tickets on yourself!

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 20/03/2020 08:05

I'm not in denial about CV.
You are talking absolute bollocks on this thread though.
So what were you wearing round the supermarket then? Did you answer?

StillDisappointed · 20/03/2020 08:19

Aghhh it's still going on. Do you journey that way very often?
I do and I know that I go from the A40 in West London onto the M40 and then onwards to Manchester.
Do you see which one is missing? Think about it very carefully.

peaceanddove · 20/03/2020 08:30

Well your posts have made me properly laugh out loud OP, so thank you Grin

StillDisappointed · 20/03/2020 08:39

A4 on to M4 - you'll be in wales
A40, M40, M42, M6 - my journey from West London to the North that I drive several times a month.

Not a sniff of the M25 in either of those journeys; what would your checkpoints do to prevent those trips? Nada.
Yet people could travel from the CV hotspot in London to those places if we used your guidelines and continue to spread it around the country.

VowelMovement · 20/03/2020 09:03

We did a run last night to Sussex from Herts to check on my elderly parents and drop them some bits off, on our way home we saw and passed a convoy of army trucks heading to london, quite a few of them.

It was quite late, around 11pm, I am under no doubt that troops are being put in place, for lockdown or support I have no idea, but they are being moved.

adiposegirl2 · 20/03/2020 10:22

peaceanddove

I take the bad with the good so thanks for your complimentGrin

kirinm · 20/03/2020 10:30

Can't see there being a lockdown given that the schools will be remaining open for nearly everyone.

If I was going to drive out of London - had crossed my mind - I'd be heading to the M4 and wouldn't touch the M25.
