Hello. Are you in the Ocado virtual queue? What position are you?
Would you like some company?

Wow... and that will put pressure on the servers for Tescos and Sainsburys now. It is honestly no wonder people are stockpiling.

viccat · 18/03/2020 16:01

Wow. I'm glad I edited next week's order already so it's all stuff I actually want to buy!

It's understandable their systems can't cope with the unprecedented demand of course.

Noflora · 18/03/2020 16:01

Ocado just closed its website for a few days. Deliveries already booked will continue.

YukoandHiro · 18/03/2020 16:02

Blimey. Glad I got in a 5.30am this morning Confused

Noflora · 18/03/2020 16:03

Sorry hadn't seen Tartiflette's update

MarshaBradyo · 18/03/2020 16:03

How precious is that order now blimey

Hope they’re getting more staff as fast as they can

bluebluezoo · 18/03/2020 16:04

I placed an order for 26th for god knows what intending to edit it later....

Hope i can get back in or i’m going to end up with 24 loaves of bread and 10 bottles of gin!

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 18/03/2020 16:08

Had a text a couple of hours ago saying I could no longer edit my Friday order.

It's probably full of brandy & champagne which I tend to do to save a slot!

The message said 'on this occasion' I'm allowed to return items at the doorstep though, so that's one thing!

ritzbiscuits · 18/03/2020 16:10

Oh dear, looks like Ocado has gone into meltdown.

Have an order for Friday with only one item in it, as I was planned to edit tonight! I'll manage and go to the shops, but I'd be so upset if I was vulnerable or self isolating.

Think it would have helped if they would have given some advance notice to Thurs/Fri shoppers that their order was closing early.

But hey ho, I've got bigger things to worry about!

FlyingFlamingo · 18/03/2020 16:17

I’ve had my receipt for my order tonight by email, there are 2 subs that are perfectly reasonable, phew!

I’ve no doubt this time next week I’ll be wondering what Tesco will manage to bring me Grin

Xiaoxiong · 18/03/2020 16:19

I've just had the same text - looks like we'll be getting a bottle of pink peppercorn gin, just in time for happy hour on Friday!

Blewbell · 18/03/2020 17:10

It looks like they're trying to find a way to do queue priority for those in isolation etc. They've done the right thing. The IT folk need time to make giant system changes. And if they're fully booked for the next four days it makes sense.

YoursTunbridgeWells · 18/03/2020 18:04

I hope it works again. I'm at risk and my Friday order fails I'll be traisping round many shops to find anything to eat.

ritzbiscuits · 18/03/2020 18:50

@Blewbell yes, I work in software development and the way I read that message they'll have the team working through the night to make some sweeping changes.

They talked about providing direct links to edit your order. The logistics of getting that set up and prioritised is no minor task. I hope it goes well for them, software development can be very painful at times.

Piggywaspushed · 18/03/2020 20:46

Asda website is working well. Not sure if I will end up with anything I ordered. It also says to tell them if you are a self isolating household but I couldn't see anywhere to tell them this!

LightAsTheBreeze · 18/03/2020 20:57

I just cancelled my next weeks Tesco slot as I have enough, mostly bought before all this kicked off and I felt a bit guilty with my very well stocked larder, all slots looked booked for 3 weeks.

Xiaoxiong · 18/03/2020 22:26

After a quick panic stock-take of the kitchen I realised that as long as I can get milk and bread from our corner shop, we don't actually need anything from Ocado this week except fancy gin. So hopefully it will free up stock and picking time for other orders. Maybe that was Ocado's plan all along...Wink

stopgap · 18/03/2020 22:49

I am in the US (ex-pat) and placed an order that will arrive to my parents’ house in England this Saturday. Will I be okay if the order has been placed? I’m reading comments that orders haven’t been showing up.

YukoandHiro · 19/03/2020 14:54

People whose orders have arrived today (Thursday): have you got all/most of what you ordered?

Slightly paranoid that my order for tomorrow, which I made two weeks ago, might not turn up which would leave us absolutely stuffed as we're now on full lockdown

WhenDoISleep · 19/03/2020 15:03

Mine arrived today - was actually about 20mins early. My order was large (as 5 of us at home all day now). Everything I ordered was there. I had 3 sensible subs - Ocado bananas instead of Waitrose branded, crinkle cut chips instead of regular (although the pack was a smaller size) and a different prepared veg for the one I ordered. I had one damaged item - bag of flour torn open; and the rolls were a little squished, but that is normal. The use by dates on everything seem the same as normal - nothing particularly shorted dated.

YukoandHiro · 19/03/2020 15:43

Oh great, that's reassuring. Thanks for posting

SugarSugarShimmy · 19/03/2020 15:48

they've said today they have no issues with stock and 98% of products are available

Sertchgi123 · 19/03/2020 15:49

Three items missing, bread mix, nurofen and tinned peaches. No substitutes.

Sertchgi123 · 19/03/2020 15:50

Oh and it was 40 minutes early.

Standrewsschool · 19/03/2020 16:16

I got everything I ordered. There were a few substitutes, which were all fine. No items missing.
