Hello. Are you in the Ocado virtual queue? What position are you?
Would you like some company?

What is an anytime pass holder? I think I am one as I have Saturday deliveries and whenever I like. I pay £9.99 and have done so for some time - years

GiantKitten · 26/03/2020 22:14

I got the smart pass email about 2 hours ago. It says we’re split into groups & each group will get a priority log-in email at some point from tomorrow?

I do most of my regular shopping at Lidl/Aldi - never get a full weekly shop from Ocado, just a few things I can’t easily get elsewhere (mostly organic stuff) plus special offers, & freezer is currently pretty well-stocked, so it won’t be the end of the world if I can’t get a slot for a few weeks.

tangledyarn · 26/03/2020 22:28

I've got an email..'anytime' I think is anytime and unlimited though I only get a delivery every 2 weeks which I'll continue with if I can get a slot.

YoursTunbridgeWells · 26/03/2020 22:32

I checked I am an anytime pass holder. Hopefully my email will arrive. My surname is at the end of the alphabet..

tangledyarn · 26/03/2020 22:33

Hopefully over the next few weeks they will be able to scale up to match demand, and give much needed jobs to drivers and pickers as long as stock keeps flowing. It's pretty much impossible to just suddenly cope with such an increase in demand overnight without the infrastructure to do it.

MiniatureRed · 26/03/2020 22:49

I wish I'd get the email but they think we've only been customers for 18 months. Our old email got hacked so we had to make a new account. In reality we'd been with them for 10 years+!

GatoradeMeBitch · 26/03/2020 23:03

MiniatureRed The email only said you had to be a smart pass holder pre-2020. I've only been with them a year and I got the email around 6pm, so I don't think they're prioritizing by years with anyway.

GatoradeMeBitch · 26/03/2020 23:08

One delivery a week would be my usual. I managed to secure an Asda slot for next week, but I will let that go if I can resume deliveries with Ocado.

It is tricky for them. It's a temporary situation, it's not like they can just go and buy a lot more vans, more stock and employ more staff because they probably (please) won't be needed in a few months. A balance between prioritizing vulnerable new/existing customers and the rest of their customer base is a good balance.

Queenhoneybee · 26/03/2020 23:09

With the wording of 'anytime' it looks like those of us with the midweek pass - which we also pay for - do not qualify. Very disappointing.

fedupfrida · 26/03/2020 23:17

Hi fellow Ocado shoppers.
Does anyone know if they’re officially (or not) prioritising their customers who are to be shielded? Has anyone had any correspondence from them about this? I heard Sainsbury’s are....
My very young DD is an organ transplant recipient (we’ve had the government letter saying she’s to isolate for 12 weeks) and we are desperately trying to get a food delivery. None of us in the family are going out at all in order to protect her. Plus my DH has a health condition so I’m definitely not taking any risks.
I do have one delivery booked for next week but then that will be 3 weeks since my last one and god knows how long til the next. I just cannot get a slot. I’ve shopped with Ocado for about 8-9 years weekly and it’s a nightmare for me being 222,000th in a queue 😔 So desperate, running out of food and worried 😦

minipie · 26/03/2020 23:28

Hi frida, I haven’t seen anything along those lines but the email I received from ocado is specifically addressed to smart pass holders rather than a general statement of their approach. I don’t know what, if anything, they are doing to prioritise vulnerable people but I hope they are.
Have you asked neighbours and local Facebook groups for help? Where are you?

fedupfrida · 26/03/2020 23:36

Hi no not yet but I might have to now. I think they said on the news that tomorrow vulnerable people can register with the new NHS volunteer service. I’ll be doing so tomorrow if it’s true.
We’re in West Yorkshire.
I’m happy for Smart Pass customers but I can’t help but feel a bit sad that they’re only prioritising based on someone having paid an extra tenner a year over me & my family ☹️

WinstonWolf · 26/03/2020 23:39

I have not received an email from Ocado - this may be because my surname is a W, or it could be that I'm showing as a new (2020) smart pass holder.

I had some issues with a couple of their new drivers not being very helpful (just throwing crates on ground at me when can't bend on crutches to get bags out, or turning up 1hr+ early and being irritable that I'm not ready for them or able to answer the door quickly) and ended up cancelling my decade long smart pass as all customer service said was "we can add a note to your account" which I'd heard before. (They did it with my Xmas order which I'd paid extra for delivery on, which is just an added annoyance!) I was just so very upset at the time, when they used to have such wonderful customer service.

Re-booked it a week or so later when they sent me a deal (better the devil you know), so it will look like I'm a new customer. FML.

I'm glad at least some of you have been sorted out Smile

Daftapath · 26/03/2020 23:46

@fedupfrida some people seem to be having some joy by posting to Ocado on Twitter. They have asked some who are vulnerable to message them so they can be helped. Hope that works for you

Vegansarefriends · 26/03/2020 23:47

Feeling like I have won the lottery tonight, I am going to order for a couple of people who can’t get to the shops to share my good fortune Halo My email says I can have one order per week which I think is fair, been using them weekly for the last 15 years and was getting pretty fed up that I haven’t been able to use them at all due to so many new customers.

FurForksSake · 27/03/2020 00:23

Gah got a text at 7.30 saying they were closing editing of my slot at 11pm tonight for a sunday morning order. Guess how long I've been in the queue to get in for... And no email to say this, just a text which could have been missed. I want to take a few things out of my trolley I've been able to source elsewhere :(

I had a long email row with them about the 6 day thing, I told them that I check out all future reserved slots ASAP so should have been able to do that before they let others take the booked slots. Their system makes no sense to me. I am a tiny bit hopeful that I'll get a slot in future weeks as I am an anytime and got an email. They did say they would see if they could add me to the vulnerable list after explaining that we are both in the category, but nothing came of that.

perfectstorm · 27/03/2020 01:37

@fedupfrida yes, they are prioritising people who are shielded. They emailed me to tell me so a week ago and gave me a link to log in at once, no queue, and they emailed when they were releasing slots (be warned, even then you need to jump to it).

You need one of those NHS letters, I think? But obviously you qualify! They didn't wait for my letter as I must have been on the system already, due to needing driver precautions in the recent past, before all this, for health reasons.

Email them, attach anything scanned if you have it - but apparently they are now having access to a special NHS website for shielded customers, anyway, so can check it out that way. They will offer you priority access.

Inkpaperstars · 27/03/2020 02:45

I am in the queue now, something like 141 thousand and something. I was at 228 thousand and something at about 23.45 pm. I really need to go to bed but I need to edit an order for DM isolating in her eighties and daren't miss it. Surprised it is quite this busy right now though.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 27/03/2020 03:30
