Hello. Are you in the Ocado virtual queue? What position are you?
Would you like some company?

I've just had my text to say my delivery is coming tonight with only two (totally sensible) substitutions!! Feel like I've won the lottery Grin

MaggieFS · 26/03/2020 16:39

The other thing which is really poor, is that once you get in, the information there, and on their automated reply to emails (I've asked how I register as vulnerable) also doesn't match up.

Ali85 · 26/03/2020 16:43

Mine is also coming tonight. Missing bread flour and a bottle of wine Shock plus 5 or 6 perfectly reasonable substitutions. I am feeling incredibly guilty now as I'd ordered a bit more than we usually do thinking that there would be loads missing. We are delivering to people self-isolating though too so can just give them a bit more

Luunaa · 26/03/2020 16:50

I don't understand who is getting the priority emails. Is it just long standing customers?

Bluebelle32 · 26/03/2020 17:03

Getting stressed about no deliveries. I haven’t had the official vulnerable letter although if I go by what I’m currently taking and the Asthma UK site, I’d “qualify” as one. So even if they prioritize vulnerable people, I don’t have a letter to say that I am one.

YoursTunbridgeWells · 26/03/2020 17:05

I'v e had a priority email for reserved pass customers as they have stopped ocado reserved.

YoursTunbridgeWells · 26/03/2020 17:05

I am also vulnerable how do I register as such with ocado?

Lordfrontpaw · 26/03/2020 17:12

Anyone know when the online ordering is going to get better? No slots available anywhere by the looks of it and I need to try to get something for my MIL who will not stay indoors.

Alyic · 26/03/2020 17:25

I have a delivery coming Saturday, I was trying to get on Ocado since Monday to do another shop for the Saturday after, I finally got on last night, so 48 hours in the queue, then no available delivery slots. I know it's super early but it's the only way to get a slot.

Before I get jumped on, I've shopped with them for years, I think they should give more consideration to the regulars.

Ranguski · 26/03/2020 17:55

Could I please know how you are managing to find a slot? I’ve been in virtual queues for two weeks and I ended up in tears today morning. It could just be the stress...I’ve been unwell from Monday but still working as I’m covering NHS admin etc..husband is asthmatic and we have a 5 year old home schooling. I would much prefer to get something delivered as supposed to trekking to shops which we are doing for milk, eggs etc. But i need a full grocery shopping and cannot fund a slot!

Ranguski · 26/03/2020 17:56

We have no family or friends to help either...so we are being extra cautious as it’s just me and husband around to look after our daughter.

Aragog · 26/03/2020 18:11

So who is eligible for priority?

Been with Ocado since they started delivering here.
Pay the monthly fee for delivery with them.
But only set up reserved about 3 or 4 weeks ago.

Not had a letter from the Government as not 'extremely vulnerable' - think you can register on the Government pages as that is what Sainsbury's links to but only for those who have received the letter. I am just a normal 'at risk' group and also would be classed as a key worker as teaching staff.

So, as not had an Ocado email I clearly won't be accessing Ocado for a while. Bet they hang onto my monthly delivery fee though!

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 26/03/2020 18:24

When I just went back on to see how bad things were it said priority slots were being 'released gradually' so just because we may not have had THE EMAIL yet, it may come I guess.

IHadADreamWhichWasNotAllADream · 26/03/2020 18:28

I’m SmartPass but not reserved. Just had an email saying that SmartPass customers will be divvied up into random groups and sent a code from tomorrow for priority access at staggered intervals so we should in theory be guaranteed a slot as long as we’re not fussy about when. I suspect that customers without SmartPass will be out of luck. I’m relieved because that will guarantee I can get a delivery to a vulnerable relative.

viccat · 26/03/2020 18:29

Just had an email from Ocado:

"We have experienced such extraordinary levels of demand in recent days that despite our best efforts, we simply have not had enough capacity to serve all our customers.
To put it into context, practically every Ocado customer, no matter how infrequently they may have shopped previously, is now looking to place an order every week. At the same time, with families at home, the average size of orders has almost doubled. This means there is an unceasing level of demand several times our current delivery capacity.
We’ve already taken decisive steps to manage this demand, closing our doors to new customers, and limiting customers to one delivery slot every seven days. However, despite these measures, we can see that not all Smart Pass customers have been able to book a delivery.
As an Anytime Smart Pass member, we consider you to be one of our best customers, so we’ve set up a temporary priority queue to enable you to book a delivery slot each week.
How you will get access:
We have divided all paying Anytime Smart Pass members who joined before 2020 into a number of equal-sized, randomised groups. You will be placed in one of these groups.
At spaced intervals, we will give each group access to the priority queue, enabling them to quickly get in and choose a slot for their weekly delivery. We will do this by sending each group an email and text message between the hours of 9am and 5pm, starting tomorrow.
Once you get your email, you’ll have the rest of the day to place and check out your order. Please wait for your message, as you won’t be able to access the priority queue at other times.
Please be aware that there is still high demand for slots, and you may not see full availability for all time slots. But, because we can now prioritise the customers we let on to the website, and each customer can only have one slot, you can be confident that there are enough slots – and groceries – to go around.
Our developers continue to work on a better solution which will allow us to manage this in a simpler way but, for now, this fix at least helps us to prioritise you in the short-term. It makes access fair, and helps to keep traffic to our website at manageable levels, ensuring you the best possible shopping experience in the circumstances.
Please note: our usually all-knowing Customer Service team can’t set-up or change this temporary process, so they won’t be able to tell you which group you are in, or when you will get your email.
Thank you for your continued understanding and patience. We all understand the huge responsibility placed on us, and we are working tirelessly to help feed the nation at this challenging time.
Your Ocado team"

What’s an Anytime Smart Pass when it’s at home. Is it the same as a Smart Pass which we do pay for.

I’ve just had an email with a priority slot. I don’t know whether it’s because of Ocado reserved or that I’m on the shielding list - although haven’t had a letter yet, doctor called on Monday to tell me I’m on it.

MarshaBradyo · 26/03/2020 18:33

Re Dr call
They know all!

viccat · 26/03/2020 18:35

Marsha Yes, the one that gives you free deliveries any day of the week (I think they also do a cheaper mid-week Smart Pass?).

FlamingoAndJohn · 26/03/2020 18:35

What’s an Anytime Smart Pass when it’s at home. Is it the same as a Smart Pass which we do pay for.

The Anytime one means you can get deliveries anytime. There is also a midweek pass which limits you to deliveries midweek but it’s cheaper.

MarshaBradyo · 26/03/2020 18:36

Oh right I never pay for delivery but need to check!

MarshaBradyo · 26/03/2020 18:38

Email says

In case you need a little reminder, these are the great Smart Pass benefits you’ll continue to enjoy:
• Wave goodbye to delivery charges (excluding Christmas week).

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 26/03/2020 18:42

Thanks for that - I'm a midweek Smart Pass customer so assume we will be out of luck going forward.

Aragog · 26/03/2020 18:46

I take it back. I have had the email, based on being an Anytime SmartPass customer.

I have included the email so you can see what it says.

You can an email and text on the day to go in and select an order. Still warns you of high demand though.

So we shall see...
