Hello. Are you in the Ocado virtual queue? What position are you?
Would you like some company?

Its been mentioned upthread but worth mentioning again. If you can get on to edit, please don't forget the food bank donation if you are able to.

It now says no new delivery slots for general release.
I feel like I've come this far to give up now !

MarshaBradyo · 26/03/2020 14:43

The Chairman was on R4 this morning. From what I gathered they know that they have very loyal customers who’ve been with them for years - and they won’t push out. Still doesn’t help anyone get a slot.

wondering7777 · 26/03/2020 14:44

It now says no new delivery slots for general release.

I can see that message now too. Is that it then - no more delivery slots at all for the foreseeable?

wondering7777 · 26/03/2020 14:45

From what I gathered they know that they have very loyal customers who’ve been with them for years - and they won’t push out. Still doesn’t help anyone get a slot.

I’ve been with them for nine years and can’t get a slot.

Piggywaspushed · 26/03/2020 14:45

Me too Sad

tootyfruitypickle · 26/03/2020 14:48

There’s also a message saying existing reserved orders will be cancelled! I’ve not had an email yet about that. Maybe they’re putting in orders for vulnerable customers and once they’ve all been identified and sorted the rest can scramble. I’m ordering for my parents though as well - Anyone know if existing customers can transfer their accounts over to relatives who are vulnerable ? I’d happily do that.

FreakStar · 26/03/2020 14:49

Maybe they will honour the reserved slots- just because they are showing as not available doesn't mean that they won't be available nearer the time- mine says not available for the 10th april but at the same time it won't allow me to look for an alternative and still says it can be edited from tomorrow. I'm fully expecting the slot to be booked automatically tomorrow.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/03/2020 14:50

I've been a customer with Ocado for 16 years. Strongly suspect there will be no free bottle of wine this year. Upside, probably no ootsy cutsey email saying 'Did you think we'd forgotten?' either.

MarshaBradyo · 26/03/2020 14:50

Wondering it was more in relation to limiting to vulnerable customers as Sainsbury’s have done. Ocado have a different model whereas Sainsbury’s etc are largely not delivery.

It doesn’t help us get a slot but it helped clear up who should be trying to use them.

Still it looks like they’re all gone anyway

FreakStar · 26/03/2020 14:51

I mean, it would be silly if they were taking less orders than they normally do! Not all customers can be vulnerable! And they have a duty to keep as many people out of the actual shops as possible!

MarshaBradyo · 26/03/2020 14:51

The question to him was will you be limiting as others have done... his answer no because

FreakStar · 26/03/2020 14:52

Gasp- they give you free wine? How come? I've never had any- been customer fro 14 years!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/03/2020 14:53

I wouldn't count on it, @FreakStar. This just in from Ocado's Twitter feed:

We are sorry for the confusion! Our Ocado reserve system book slots 6 days in advance, whereas customers can book slots 21 days in advance so it does seem a little unlikely that all your automated slots will be booked, I would suggest booking a slot when you can. - Romanie- Jay

YoursTunbridgeWells · 26/03/2020 14:53

I have been with ocado for 15 years.

@FreakStar I too have a a reseved for 10th April. It says I can edit fromtomorrow but also says it has been cancelled. Yesterday it said I could edit from today and on Tuesday it said I culd edit from Wednesday...... I think it's not going to happen.

Apart from one poster on here who got a slot for 19th, Has anyone got a slot post 6th April which is roughly where i think the cut off was when the website closed?

LefttoherownDevizes · 26/03/2020 14:56

I got a slot for 16/4 a week ago. Also customer for 15 years, and do get wine too . ..

FreakStar · 26/03/2020 14:56

Just seen your post @wondering7777

That seems quite unfair not to honour reserved slots- surely they should have honoured existing slots before allowing new customers?

MarshaBradyo · 26/03/2020 14:57

I’m not sure how long but I spend a small fortune usually.

tootyfruitypickle · 26/03/2020 14:57

There was another tweet saying they would be cancelling future reserved slots including ones already booked. Unfair if so as I would have been up at night trying to find other options if I’d thought that would be cancelled next week.

Xiaoxiong · 26/03/2020 14:57

I'm expecting a delivery today but haven't had a text message off them...really hoping it arrives as they cancelled the one last week.

I just read today that in normal times, 50% of all food in the UK is served "out of the home" - so through restaurants, cafes, school and work canteens etc. So it's not just panic buyers that have fucked up the supply chain and delivery services - it really is a huge increase in demand. I noticed when I checked out my ocado cart this week that my weekly shop (and I really did hold myself to just a single week!) cost exactly twice as much as it usually is, thanks to more than doubling the number of meals we now eat at home.

tootyfruitypickle · 26/03/2020 14:58

I’ve been a customer since they started and I’m sure I’ve never had wine! Had a creme egg a few weeks ago though!!

SurpriseSparDay · 26/03/2020 15:00

Just had a look.

The Ocado Queue Thread.
FreakStar · 26/03/2020 15:01

I'm sure the reserve system usually books slots further than 6 days in advance- I have a reserve slot booked for the 3rd and I was able to edit it from last Friday - 2 weeks in advance!

bruffin · 26/03/2020 15:02

tootyfruitypickle
Every February which is anniversary of when i first became a customer i get a £10 coupon to be spend on chocolate and wine. Also get quite an email regularly to review free items which can be anything.

InescapableDeath · 26/03/2020 15:02

Another one here who has had a weekly shop for years. I have a shop coming today - I think, at least I have edited it and checked out earlier in the week - and the rest have gone.

If the regular customers aren't getting deliveries, then who is? Vulnerable existing customers deserve to be served first but that should surely leave a lot of capacity left? New vulnerable customers maybe? I'd just like to know if I'll ever be able to get my normal Ocado shop again!
