The Ocado Queue Thread.

Hello. Are you in the Ocado virtual queue? What position are you?
Would you like some company?

I do hope all of you are in vulnerable groups or are ordering for friends relatives that are. If not then you should be truly ashamed of yourself for pointy elbows and a sense of entitlement in a national crisis

I am working flat out doing 12 hour days- 7 days on, 3 off.

I don’t have the time or energy to deal with the madness that is sainsburys or asda in person- not finishing at 2am then getting up to queue at 7am with 1000’s of other idiots who don’t understand physical distance.

If i can get a delivery slot, i will absolutely take it.

If those nutters that are stockpiling and queueing at aldi for hours pack it in and start being sensible, leaving some bog roll for the rest of us, then i’ll go to the shops and leave the online delivery slots for the vulnerable.

I can’t even take advantage of key worker hour as i’m in work by 7am.

So wind your neck in.

The PM has just said do food delivery. Everyone.

I waited for an hour in the queue this evening with no hint that it was for editing existing orders only. Got to the front and only then got the “you can only use this to edit an existing order between tomorrow and Sunday” notice. Swore copiously, then thought what the hell, and hit the Book a Delivery button just in case, and lo and behold there was a rogue delivery slot available for tomorrow, so have now bagged a decent sized order (after a certain amount of trial and error dodging sold out stuff) for tomorrow afternoon. Bingo!

For, I wish to add, my septuagenarian father who has COPD.

I think they do have a few cancellations and perhaps they might have managed to get some workers etc so there are some short notice slots.

But there is still nthing beyond 4th April that I can see.

Mine turned up tonight, the guy was so apologetic and nervous about not getting close, I just kept telling him not to apologise.

Oh ffs.
Woke up at 5.45, decided to edit the order.
It said that the site was closed for maintenance until 6 am so I joined the queue assuming we would all get on once the site opened again.
Suddenly I’m on and it says Closed until 6am. This was 6.05.

I tried last night but the counter is nonsense. I went up and down - eventually getting to 157 - then zapped up to 10+++! Bah.

I’ve just been in a virtual queue for an hour, got to about 200th then suddenly bumped back to 12-thousand and something?! 😫

I got to the front of the queue last night, and then it crashed..

I’ve been in 7000 plus for over 30 mins. My position hasn’t changed but the size of the queue has.

Ouch! I saw it was up at something like 19,000 and decided to wait!

Queued to get onto the site and now in a 4000+ queue to actually (hopefully) edit my order.

My poor mum who is regular Ocado shopper (and feels proud of herself for not being a luddite oldie, her words) has been finding whole thing very stressful. We were supposed to be having family get together this coming weekend for her 70th birthday and her order was full of party food. She hasn't been able to update the order and I've told her it's best to leave it for now. At least they will have food in the house, but some slightly odd food combos.

I’m on my third queue. First short, second longer, third huge. And I reckon I was on five minutes after it opened.

Has anyone also had issues with their password? Mine isn’t being accepted and my computer is set for it to auto fill so I know I’m not getting it wrong. I know I’m in this queue (now 5000th) to reset my password then I’ll have to do the whole bloody thing again. Might wait until the small hours to try again!

Move they are closing the site overnight now until 6am.

I got an email yesterday saying I could go on, there were slots, 10 minute wait, then it crashed repeatedly when I got to the front of the queue.

I tried several times, managed to get on. No slots.

I tried at 6.30 and it was still closed for maintenance.. on again now and have just been in a queue with 10,000 only to get to the front and enter another even slower going queue of 4,000+. Got to the front of that and now back into a queue of 12,000... just going round in circles for the last 1.5 hours.

They seem to be getting worse and communication is non existent.

Thanks for the heads up Marsha. Will just keep plugging away today then 😔
