Hello. Are you in the Ocado virtual queue? What position are you?
Would you like some company?

You can't seem to leave it updating. It's thrown me off if I go onto here for example or even leave it on in background

Nanasueathome · 23/03/2020 11:29

I joined the queue earlier, said 2 hour wait but was much quicker
Can edit my order for this Friday and add new stuff
No new slots available at the moment though

Daftapath · 23/03/2020 11:36

But why don't they give the info on the first queue as to who can edit their deliveries. I don't need to go on their website to check if I have a delivery, I have the email confirmation to tell me when it is. Maybe it just gives them another holding bay in case things kick off again and it protects their website from going in to meltdown. It feels like a Disney queue. Where you think you are nearly there and turn a corner to see there is an even longer line ahead!

Glad that you can now add items to your impending order.

Xiaoxiong · 23/03/2020 11:43

I also joined the queue about an hour ago, said a 2 hour wait but I've gone from position 10,000 to 1700 in the space of an hour. So I'm pretty hopeful I'll be able to edit my Thursday order in the next hour.

FlamingoAndJohn · 23/03/2020 11:52

I wish they would give info on when and how they are releasing slots.

If they did that though the website would collapse with everyone trying to log on to book a delivery.

I’ve got a basket but there are no slots in my area.

FlamingoAndJohn · 23/03/2020 11:55

But why don't they give the info on the first queue as to who can edit their deliveries.

They do. It says that you can edit if it’s in the next week.
They get you to log in to join the main queue so they can check you have a pending delivery.

JonHamm you always have to choose a delivery slot first. (Even before all this madness started).

bruffin · 23/03/2020 13:09

Xiaoxiong
You never had to before, only to make sure stuff was in stock. I always add to the basket then select a date or add to an existing order.

My reserve slots after next saturday have been cancelled, so not sure what will happen after that,

JonHammIsMyJamm · 23/03/2020 13:12

Yep, bruffin. I’ve used Ocado for several years.

Daftapath · 23/03/2020 13:36

Flamingo when I looked earlier and was in the short holding queue, it didn't give the information about what delivery dates you could edit. Hence my hopefulness! They must have realised their mistake and changed it Grin

Speminalium · 23/03/2020 15:09

No slots, booked or otherwise after 4 April here. It's making me panic a bit, which rather defeats the object of their don't panic messages!

vera99 · 23/03/2020 15:14

I do hope all of you are in vulnerable groups or are ordering for friends relatives that are. If not then you should be truly ashamed of yourself for pointy elbows and a sense of entitlement in a national crisis.

bruffin · 23/03/2020 15:40

vera99- do stop with the virtue signalling, you have no idea about our households or who we are buying for

TheGreatWave · 23/03/2020 15:41

Yeah such a sense of entitlement, people who are working wanting to actually buy food, to feed themselves and their families. Hmm

The shelves were bare by the time people finished work, they are not the ones with a sense of entitlement.

Lordfrontpaw · 23/03/2020 15:48

Or buying for their 75-year-old MIL who almost died from pneumonia not that long ago and is not keen to repeat that event. Oh, the entitlement.

vera99 · 23/03/2020 15:55

I said vulnerable groups or buying for those that are - as for others the guilt or not is your own.

bruffin · 23/03/2020 15:55

Vera would be the first to complain that there are too many people not social distancing in the supermarket

TheGreatWave · 23/03/2020 15:59

Most people are just trying to get food to feed their family, I am not sure where guilt comes into it.

MarshaBradyo · 23/03/2020 16:02

After seeing a family member struggle to breathe yeah I don’t want that. Without an ambulance it would be very bad.

I find that irrelevant if people want to use the service then fine.

The shelves are bare for many so yes people are turning to online shopping.

Daftapath · 23/03/2020 16:50

Yeah, how dare we follow government advice to try to stay at home to protect vulnerable people whilst still get food to feed our children. How very dare we!

LefttoherownDevizes · 23/03/2020 18:24

I think Vera is just pissed she couldn't get a delivery slot

FreakStar · 23/03/2020 18:34

I don't feel in the least bit guilty about getting my Ocado shopping- I've shopped with them almost every week for 14 years- I use Ocado reserved and they have done the right thing so far in honouring regular customers first. I haven't needed stockpile or order more than I usually would. We have a fridge full of lovely fresh veg and meat to feed us for the week. It's not me that should feel guilty about that- it's those that have cleaned out the regular supermarkets that are to blame for this dilemma. I don't imagine vulnerable people are flocking to Ocado anyway- more likely those have ransacked the supermarkets now want to start with the online versions.

Reastie · 23/03/2020 19:52

Omg, I’ve been updating my order and the website just closed and I’m in a queue. I was just sbout to check out an order. Have I lost it forever?

YoursTunbridgeWells · 23/03/2020 20:02

I need a new slot. Nothing past 4 April sadly
