Lockdown conditions in France

CroissantsAtDawn · 17/03/2020 06:01

Ive seen lots of threads with people worrying about lockdown.and how they would cope/ it would be enforced.

Last night, following the President's announcement I received a text message from the government confirming the lockdown for 15 days and linking to a site with details.

From 12 today we are only allowed out to go to work if work from home isnt possible, buy groceries, see a doctor, help elderly/vulnerable family in need (with reminder about barrier actions), to let a dog do its business or for individual physical activity close to home.

Each time you need a paper dated and signed explaining why you are out. Infringements are fined 38-135 euros. The paper can be downloaded and printed, shown on your phone or just hand written.

100 000 police and army personnel are being deployed to enforce the conditions.

No mention of how children can exercise. Just that parks etc are closed and there should be no family or friends gathering.

We are going to test going out early for run with 1 DC each and hope that is allowed in "individual activity". If its not I ll stand on the doorstep and watch them run up and down the road (2 highly active boys living in a flat....)

All the news outlets talking about stricter rules and lockdown til for ever are quoting the same source.

BurneyFanny · 13/04/2020 19:08

You all watching?

BurneyFanny · 13/04/2020 19:10

11 may.

AuldAlliance · 13/04/2020 19:14

I am.
Have to grudgingly admit he's good at this...

LaChatte · 13/04/2020 19:14

At lest another month, arf.

AuldAlliance · 13/04/2020 19:15

didn't expect that about schools...

BurneyFanny · 13/04/2020 19:18

I’m not surprised. He is good at this. Admitting to mistakes early on is a good move.

KatharinaRosalie · 13/04/2020 19:18

So it was a red herring. Very glad schools will be back.

AuldAlliance · 13/04/2020 19:20

I'm not surprised, he's been good at this since the start. Just not a fan of many of his reforms.
The failles, faiblesses et ratés were in marked contrast to Priti Patel's 'I'm sorry if you think there is a problem' stance.

BurneyFanny · 13/04/2020 19:22

I meant I’m not surprised about the schools

AuldAlliance · 13/04/2020 19:23

Oh, I see.
Seems quite soon to me. Not sure I'm entirely at ease with the idea of sending DS1 back to his internat in a month...

MadameF · 13/04/2020 19:27

Ouff ! Good news about the écoles and colleges. Good news about help for tourism (for me personally!)Good news that the restrictions won't be any more strict. Good news that the de confinement will gradually start from 11 May.
He still didn't admit the massive cock up he made with the masks.

BurneyFanny · 13/04/2020 19:31

I am kind of FUCK YEAH about the schools I admit...

LongPauseNoReply · 13/04/2020 19:31

Another 4 weeks ... Urgh. What concerned me was he said "we'll try" so if numbers go back up we'll be back inside again Sad

AuldAlliance · 13/04/2020 19:33

Now to see what Blanquer and Vidal have to say tomorrow...

mamansnet · 13/04/2020 19:35

YAY for the schools! DH will have to go back to work soon and I was dreading being home with a 3 year old and an advancing pregnancy 😱😱😱

Watchagotcha · 13/04/2020 19:35

@BurneyFanny

I confess I did an air-punch at that bit ;-)

Roseau18 · 13/04/2020 19:36

I'm in a university so it doesn't change anything for me.

mamansnet · 13/04/2020 19:37

@BriocheBriocheBrioche can I ask a bit more about your events business? I've just changed career into events, was offered a job to start in March which got cancelled because if coronavirus but am crossing fingers that something might still come of it. Can chat by DM if you like, although I don't know how to do it on the app Grin

CroissantsAtDawn · 13/04/2020 19:39

Good news about schools and other businesses. Although I understood it's not necessarily straight away but will be gradual.

I think he does these speeches well too.

He has to give himself a way out if the numbers go up again

CroissantsAtDawn · 13/04/2020 19:42

I thought he did it very well goving us the 11th May date then immediately going on to all the things that could start up again.

I also liked his jibes about local elus not adding extra restrictions during the daytime.

Roseau I teach at uni too but can’t do a stroke of work with two small kids (PS and CP) at home.

CroissantsAtDawn · 13/04/2020 19:50

My 5 year old is thrilled the end of lockdown is after his birthday so he can be with us and not at school.

My terminale DD is not happy that she will have to go back, they're going to be in until July 4th despite not sitting the BAC!
