My ds 20 and I are both asthmatics who require an annual flu jab - do we fall into this category then? And what is even the point if dh is out working everyday in contact with the public.
None if this makes sense - what a bloody nightmare.

AlunWynsKnee · 17/03/2020 18:06

In addition to SSP and any top ups you are eligible for.
People might be able to claim UC or ESA if they fall under the at risk category.

Thanks @ffswhatnext
I couldn’t see it here www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-on-social-distancing-and-for-vulnerable-people/guidance-on-social-distancing-for-everyone-in-the-uk-and-protecting-older-people-and-vulnerable-adults so I was beginning to think I’d imagined the 12 weeks part.

I'm slight asthmatic when I get a cold I use my inhaler all the time, on steroid inhaler as well as a reliever inhaler, I also have the flu jab.

I also work on a busy elderly hospital ward. I wash my hands very regularly!!!!
Hot shower as soon a get in with antibacterial soap.

Is there any doctors on here that would give us some advice!!
Do you think asthmatics should have antibiotics on stay by? Or am I panicking?

I do suffer from heath anxiety.
Thank you 😊

Riv I’m not a dr but i really think this is something you need to talk to your gp about.

Im prone to infections so it’s something that’s already planned for as standard.

@Guacamole I thought I was going crazy as well. When the 12 weeks advice came out it was everywhere. Then I had to really search for it.

I stopped looking on the gov site once they stopped giving local updates for positive tests.

@Timeoffwork2020 there is a difference between vulnerable and extremely vulnerable. I'm vulnerable doe to Asthma but not extremely vulnerable - it's the latter group that are advised to self isolate for 12 weeks, here are the criteria - check if you fit them www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-shielding-and-protecting-extremely-vulnerable-persons-from-covid-19/guidance-on-shielding-and-protecting-extremely-vulnerable-persons-from-covid-19
