Sorry if this has been done already, but wondering if you’re sending your kids into school tomorrow. Just reply with a yes or no. Intrigued to know what everyone is planning on doing. Thanks

No. Way.

Can't believe the cavalier attitude of parents in some of the comments.

backaftera2yearbreak · 15/03/2020 13:56

I will do what I’m told when I’m told to do it.

Jowak1 · 15/03/2020 13:56

Nope both kids are coughing, one has all the symptoms and the doctor ( we thought it was tonsillitis he has white spots at back of throat) advised to keep them both off and self isolate for 7 days. I am lucky I can work from home

NotQuiteUsual · 15/03/2020 13:58

No, 4 of the 5 of us have temperatures and mild coughs. While it's very mild so likely to be fine, the one of us who is well has immosuppresed classmates. So we're just leaving it. I'm going to homeschool them this week.

In Denmark . All closed.

CanICelebrate · 15/03/2020 14:00

Yes and I’ll be going in to teach unless instructed otherwise.

Dramalamaindeed · 15/03/2020 14:00

No

KurriKawari · 15/03/2020 14:02

Yes.

ChrissieKeller61 · 15/03/2020 14:02

No

Twasbambam · 15/03/2020 14:05

No.

Don't much fancy dd getting life limiting respiratory problems or ds being made infertile, even if they get it mildly.

This is a possibility, we don't know enough about the recovery from CV for me to take chances with dc's longterm health.

cadburyegg · 15/03/2020 14:07

Yes, he will be going until the schools shut

emmylousings · 15/03/2020 14:10

Yes, and there is no reason not to. Many public health experts believe school closures are counter-productive, with good reason. E.g many people will then need older relatives to look after kids and they are two population groups which should be kept apart, since evidence seems to suggest kids can be asymptomatic carriers but very unlikely to get seriously ill themselves.

KurriKawari · 15/03/2020 14:16

DD11 school has sanitisers and wash stations and posters. They're being very vigilant.

LAlady · 15/03/2020 14:20

eg "DS is returning to uni after a weekend at home for birthday celebrations.

Er...: as his mum I can assure you his uni remains open so he will be returning. Not every uni has closed !!!! If the situation changes then he'll gone back home.

Please don't cast doubt on my word

KoalasandRabbit · 15/03/2020 14:22

They are going in tomorrow but really hoping schools will be closed at the end of the week. My niece in France has no school from Monday. May pull them out if we don't follow suit soon.

AStarSoBright · 15/03/2020 14:23

Yes

Littlebookwormiam · 15/03/2020 14:23

Yep, both will be going in tomorrow and will continue to do so until the school closes

TragicRabbit · 15/03/2020 14:26

No

KurriKawari · 15/03/2020 14:30

Those not sending your children to school what are you doing for childcare? Am a single parent working for the emergency services and have to go in.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 15/03/2020 14:30

Yes. DC aged 10 and 7. They will go to school for as long as they’re healthy and the school and I consider that it’s safe to do so.

ChrissieKeller61 · 15/03/2020 14:32

@KurriKawari I think the people staying at home are the ones not using childcare which frees it up for you so a good thing

Merename · 15/03/2020 14:32

I don’t know! DH, a doctor who would usually send kids in with anything thinks no way. I’m worried about whether it’s proportionate to the risk at this stage and worried that she will now be off till August, and how that will impact all of our wellbeing. We need to have a big conversation tonight.

ememem84 · 15/03/2020 14:33

Those who are choosing to keep their kids off, are you doing it until the virus has gone?

I have two at nursery and work full time as does dh. We’re sending in until told otherwise.

Working from home is an option for me. Not apparently for dh so if we come to wfh nursery closed etc dh will have to do childcare.

Jackrusselsarecute · 15/03/2020 14:33

Yes, I wish they weren’t but I’m a teacher so unless schools close I can’t pull them out because I would be asking elderly grandparents to look after them which is wrong. If you can pull your children out I don’t blame you.

GameSetMatch · 15/03/2020 14:37

Yes, I also walked past a pallet full of toilet rolls in Tesco today too, I’ve not gone mad yet!
