Sorry if this has been done already, but wondering if you’re sending your kids into school tomorrow. Just reply with a yes or no. Intrigued to know what everyone is planning on doing. Thanks

Yes but I hoenstly don't know if it's for the best. I keep looking at my son and my babies and wondering what if one of them dies because of my choices

kevintheorangecarrot · 15/03/2020 12:53

Yes I am. I don't understand why I shouldn't? I have to go to work and pay to keep a roof over our heads!

Bobbybobbins · 15/03/2020 12:54

Yes and I am also going as a teacher. We are expected in unless we are self isolating or off with poorly kids.

Yes . But not sure for the rest of week, literally one day at a time. I'm a teacher with vulnerable disabled children and would hate to pass something to them or my children.

ChippyMinton · 15/03/2020 12:56

I suggested I might drive them, rather than them take the public bus, but got Confused faces. Teenagers think they won’t be affected.

I just hope the schools close soon.

mizu · 15/03/2020 12:58

Yes, both children in and myself as a teacher.

KipperTheFrog · 15/03/2020 13:00

Yes. Until the schools close, DD will be going to school. Who knows how long this pandemic will last? Business as usual until the powers that be say otherwise. She's
a sensible girl and aware of hygiene. I wont be off work at any point during this, cant afford for DH to take time off until he has to.

tolerable · 15/03/2020 13:01

no

abitoflight · 15/03/2020 13:03

Yes going back to board this evening

MoonBlood · 15/03/2020 13:03

Amazing how many people live on another planet that can just take their kids out and not have normal worries like mortgage and bills

This is a bit harsh? Some people have different situations that’s all, it doesn’t mean that they’re not worried about paying the bills. Hmm

idontlike789 · 15/03/2020 13:03

Why aren’t you worried that we are not doing the same?!
I really wish people would stop saying your not worried because you are sending the kids into school .
Yes I will be sending to school and after school clubs and I'll carry on with my fitness classes and I will carry on till I'm told otherwise .

LAlady · 15/03/2020 13:05

Yes, absolutely. DS is returning to uni after a weekend at home for birthday celebrations.

I work in a very big school so we continue as normal until told otherwise.

Unless there's a need to self isolate or an underlying health condition, we are concerned about the effects to mental health of keeping children off too long, particularly when we have exams coming up.

Lucked · 15/03/2020 13:06

Yes but frantically trying to change childcare options as my elderly mum normally helps out twice a week, closing schools and childcare providers would be terrible for us (doctors).

Yes mine will be going for as long as the schools stay open.

icecreamscoops · 15/03/2020 13:11

Yep

unchienandalusia · 15/03/2020 13:11

Yes. DS and DH currently at rugby festival and uniform for school laid out ready. Will send them until told not too.

More worried about elderly MIL with dementia and her having to self isolate for months. She absolutely can't look after herself.

crosspelican · 15/03/2020 13:13

We are travelling later this week (returning at the end of the Easter holidays or whenever schools reopen after the inevitable closure, which according to Arlene Foster will be for four months, so maybe... September??).

The last thing I want is them becoming unwell now at this stage, so I think I will keep them off. Statistically, it is vanishingly unlikely that they have caught and are incubating the virus right now.

sigmu87 · 15/03/2020 13:14

I think schools will close by the end of the week anyway so if you want to keep them off and can do so then I don’t really see what difference it will make. I think schools will then be shut until September from what I have read

8by8 · 15/03/2020 13:16

Nope.

FthisS · 15/03/2020 13:19

No. My 12yr old son has brittle asthma. He takes 3 inhalers, montelukast and azythromycin long term. He has just finished a 7 day course of steroids I am so worried about him.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 15/03/2020 13:22

No

pilates · 15/03/2020 13:24

Yes, my DS is doing GCSE’s and I’m worried. He won’t do much revision at home!😖

Connie222 · 15/03/2020 13:25

I’m sat here trying to decide.

Dd is 6, we moved house in Jan and she has finally been offered a school place - to start tomorrow.

Ds is 17 and travels to a huge college on a coach.

I’m pregnant, recently had pneumonia (December).

I honestly don’t know what to do for the best.

I’m a sahm so no childcare.
