Due to take family to Butlins on 23rd. Their website states they have taken extra measures etc. But would you go. AIBU to wait to see they close and then they will refund me my 700 pounds or just go and hope for the best. Has anyone recently come back and if so what precautions are in place.

Butlins

Due to go on 27th April. If they don't cancel, and they have had no cases, we will go.

No chance they’ll re-open by 27 April.

This depressing thread just proves that we need total lockdown in order for some fools to understand what social distancing actually means. The level of stubbornness and idiocy on here is mind-blowing.

On reflection, go by all means. Assume you’re prepared to isolate for 3 months in a Butlins cabin? 😱

CarolHasAnotherUTI · 19/03/2020 18:05

I'm pretty sure legally they need to give a refund, but they'll be trying to encourage people to rebook.

Butlins is not the cleanest but if you take plenty of gel regular hygiene you’ll be fine I personally would take antibacterial wipes aswell

We've just come back from Butlins and had a lovely time. We had no interest in booking shows etc and chose to avoid swimming. We just wanted a change of scenery so walked into town, went to the beach and let DS play on outdoor equipment (using hand sanitiser after). I'm quite happy to cook in self catering so we enjoyed the balcony on the evening. We did go into the pavilion with our masks and it wasn't very busy. Lots of hand sanitiser around and we were asked our details for track and trace. It all depends what you want out of a butlins holiday - we had no issues distancing etc.

That said I bet the OP had a cracking time at Butlins on 23rd March 😂

formerbabe · 25/09/2020 17:35

We went in August. There was hand sanitiser everywhere! It's was very clean and they cleaned the funfair rides in-between every go. I was really impressed. Id happily go again.
