Italian schools generally finish around 1st week of June I think

So quite a long time then.

ofwarren · 06/03/2020 14:24

Italy remains the country with the largest numbers of #COVID19 cases in Europe with 769 new cases and 41 deaths reported to WHO over the past 24 hours.

I thought on Fridays there were meant to update the locations, rather than doing this daily? Is that not the case then

When it comes to Italy, I understand that the high death figure is somewhat due to a large elderly population, but is there any other identified reason for the big jumps in numbers of infected? I mean particular travel patterns etc? I have tried a quick google but my rather fuzzy brain is having trouble picking out the relevant points...... apologies if this has been covered elsewhere .......

ofwarren · 06/03/2020 14:29

FurForksSake · 06/03/2020 14:31

Telegraph is now saying the MK patient has had one positive test but needs a second to confirm? Is that what they've been doing for others?

myrtleWilson · 06/03/2020 14:32

Twitter feed has reverted to 9am

ofwarren · 06/03/2020 14:33

1st case of #coronavirus in #Slovakia

RhodaCamel · 06/03/2020 14:33

Therealhousewife it’s currently 163

FourTeaFallOut · 06/03/2020 14:34

Is there any info on the number of community transmissions in the new figure yet?

peachgreen · 06/03/2020 14:34

@oldqueen1969 There's some speculation that cheek-kissing could be part of the reason the increase is more rapid.

Babyfairy0923 · 06/03/2020 14:35

Where’s the locations?!

Jumpingintotheabyss · 06/03/2020 14:35

UK is 163?

hankyspanky · 06/03/2020 14:36

@cologne4711 Its generally around the 18th June and they have 12 weeks off. (Thats Lombardy but give or take a couple of days for other areas)

OldQueen1969 · 06/03/2020 14:36

Guardian has amended to say BA staff now. It probably heard the collective WTAF? when people read the initial notification.

HeIenaDove · 06/03/2020 14:36

This survivor describes feeling short of breath still after recovering - she says something like 'I cannot walk for a long time because I feel short of breath and need to sit down - and that's never happened to me before'

Well they might want us all to catch it for herd immunity or whatever but are they willing to pay disability benefits if needed for those left with long term problems

People can whine about not making this thread political but this absolutely IS poltical.

Are people who survive this but are left with long term problems going to face a life of jumping through hoops to get any benefits they might need.

Alone07 · 06/03/2020 14:37

So what there doing is given west, south, north not actually towns or citys.
Not really helpful is it?

OldQueen1969 · 06/03/2020 14:37

@peachgreen

Makes sense I suppose.......

I'm adopting a greeting style of discreet wave - preferably from across a street.......
