So if I’m right, it’s doubled in 2 days?

chillychicken · 06/03/2020 14:11

147 in England I believe Golden, the others in other countries of the UK.

FurForksSake · 06/03/2020 14:11

Wasn't it 9AM before?

NotJustACigar · 06/03/2020 14:12

It was 9am before. Wonder what happened between 7-9 this morning??

Chaosdragon · 06/03/2020 14:12

Gosh thats jumped but realistically thats whats going to happen now isn't it. I am definitely resigned to someone in the family / friends circle getting it. Just hope its not one of the more vulnerable people as opposed to us who are more likely to avoid complications.

Anyone know if / when they will release the town information rather than region?

DressingGownofDoom · 06/03/2020 14:12

It was 9am previously. Today it is 7am and it is 163 for the whole of the uk, 147 in England only.

HerstoryInTheMaking · 06/03/2020 14:13

Breaking: 47 new cases, 1 new death.

FurForksSake · 06/03/2020 14:14

So up 30% in england in a day?

Tonkerbea · 06/03/2020 14:14

Do you think they're palming us off with regions, not more specific information?

Nicepud · 06/03/2020 14:14

Still waiting on towns...regions is really no use at all!

Skyejuly · 06/03/2020 14:15

Why are we not getting proper locations
Really starting to piss me off.

Skyejuly · 06/03/2020 14:16

Also 7am seems like they knew by 9am would be more results. Sounds like a cop out.

justchecking1 · 06/03/2020 14:16

So they're giving the whole of the U.K. figures now instead of just England? And as if 7am instead of 9am?

Why all the changes?

ClashCityRocker · 06/03/2020 14:16

Indeed. Yorkshire and North East covers a huge area.

Letseatgrandma · 06/03/2020 14:17

Has anyone got the uk stats by day for this week?

This is from memory, but probably wrong-can anyone amend?

Monday 2nd 39
Tuesday 3rd
Wednesday 3rd 87
Thursday 4th 115
Friday 5th 163

Now that's really annoying. Obviously cabin crew are a different can of worms to baggage handlers (depending on surface life of virus I guess).

It's vitally important that the media reports accurate facts and if they are unsure then just wait, surely - this is where the risk of hysteria comes from! And the breakdown of trust. If we're all supposed to be in this together, it really doesn't help. So help me Goddess, my nerves are shredded on the personal front as it is and this is not something I can easily ignore because depending on long term strategies for the virus, access to NHS stuff may become compromised according to priorities, and that may affect my Mum in particular. I do not want to have to think like this, I'm not usually a catastrophiser, but it would be irresponsible not to be aware in order to plan for different scenarios.

Is it possible to be calmly frustrated?????

cologne4711 · 06/03/2020 14:19

Extra curricular activities stopped till end of school year

When does their school year end?

ofwarren · 06/03/2020 14:20

running the update isn't out from the department of health but the .gov website has put the figures on.

FurryCoat · 06/03/2020 14:20

163 cases, 2 deaths

cologne4711 · 06/03/2020 14:21

I didn't realise airlines had their own baggage handlers, thought the cases were moved around by (airport) ground staff.

BBC just says BA staff. They could be anyone.

CrapTVAddict · 06/03/2020 14:21

Italian schools generally finish around 1st week of June I think

LarkDescending · 06/03/2020 14:21

Progression of UK numbers (cumulative):

27 Feb: 15
28 Feb: 20
29 Feb: 21
01 Mar: 35
02 Mar: 39
03 Mar: 51
04 Mar: 85
05 Mar: 115
06 Mar: 163

DressingGownofDoom · 06/03/2020 14:21

@justchecking1 the 2pm update has been all of uk figures all week.

I imagine they're working from 7am now due to the delay yesterday. Possibly too much to process between 9am - 2pm. Or could be because 7am is ward handover time.

Number12 · 06/03/2020 14:22

Sorry, where re you finding an update map and new numbers plse?
