How on earth can this be justified? Organisations like MAP which have worked for years and are fully registered. Another example of Israels inhumanity.

As is the way Israel’s damaging allegations turned out to have no substance

Some do some don’t … much like the allegations against Israel.

Everexpanding · 03/01/2026 13:06

No the allegations against Israel are usually proved to be true not until Israel’s attempts to smear and deflect are discredited though, the news has usually moved on. It is a recognised and documented tactic of Israel
a case in point the poor aid workers and the mysteriously buried ambulance

Ellen2shoes · 03/01/2026 13:11

An independent inquiry found no evidence, so no comparison. An inquiry into Israel’s actions cannot come soon enough.

KoalaKoKo · 03/01/2026 18:41

Why is anyone pretending that Israel are acting out of self protection or that any of this is a democratic government trying to bring about peace: they literally targeted paramedics and UN workers and buried their vehicles to conceal the war crime, they bombed multiple hospitals, doctors homes, aid workers homes, journalists homes and a press tent. They have arrested hundreds of medical professionals and aid workers, raped a doctor to death, tortured aid workers and doctors in prison. Would you want these people having your name and address in your books.

Interestingly I saw that items that they deemed “dual purpose” and banned aid organisations from bringing in they are allowing to come in for sale from corporate entities. Do we think for 1second that they have civilians interests at heart? Their own soldiers have said that the IDF can do what they want in Gaza and then just say they feel threatened - watch Breaking Ranks on ITV!

AnnaFrith · 03/01/2026 18:50

I presume they are doing this for essential security reasons.
Their priority, quite rightly, is to prevent Hamas arming themselves and committing further atrocities against the Israeli population.
Why the hell would you expect them to allow in people who don't recognise Israel's right to exist, who are thus likely to support such terrorism?

My life is too short to read every bit of Hamas propaganda and rebut it.

Everexpanding · 03/01/2026 20:03

An article from the Jerusalem Post and a statement from MSF so hardly Hamas propaganda

Just reposting Israeli propaganda is obviously a much better use of your time.

Twiglets1 · 04/01/2026 06:31

People who won’t accept that lies are told against Israel are just the other side of the coin to those that think Israel can do no wrong.

On this board there are lots of the first but very few of the second (despite the accusations of posters being paid to support Israel, which is antisemitic in itself).

Going onto other boards shows the MN community generally are way less biased against Israel & more supportive towards Jewish people.

Thank God, or I would genuinely fear for Israel’s future if I thought this board represented the views of the general UK population.

mids2019 · 04/01/2026 06:55

Isn't this a question of getting with charities refusing to vet staff and it is known terrorists infiltrate these bodies for safety? If I were Hamas wanting to hide in plain sight I would join a charity.....any attack on me personally by Israel then would be calculated to create international outrage. Yet another propaganda tactic.

These charities also rely on international funding and I for one do not want my money channeled towards those who committed the October 7th atrocities thank you very mich.

Israel’s move to ban these agencies has been condemned by
10 countries

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of the UK, France, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Japan, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland said INGOs were integral to the humanitarian response in Gaza and that any attempt to stem their ability to operate was "unacceptable".

”MSF also warned that deregistration by Israeli authorities would effectively block it from operating in Gaza, "where we support one in five hospital beds and one in three births, cutting off life-saving medical assistance for hundreds of thousands of people".

Norwegian Refugee Council
"We've seen that hundreds of aid workers were killed over the last two years. And so, for us, it is a safety concern for our staff. And acknowledging who they are - it puts them at risk. Because we've seen that aid workers are just as unprotected, and at times, have been targeted by Israeli authorities," she said.

That is ignoring the fact that most had already been banned so were only providing 1% of the aid anyway by this stage.

All the empty words from foreign ministers etc must really bug you @Everexpanding I do agree the hypocrisy is bad.

Everexpanding · 04/01/2026 09:41

It is not about the percentage of aid @Twiglets1 these organisations including MSF run or support most of Gaza's field hospitals and primary healthcare centres, emergency shelter responses, water and sanitation services, nutrition stabilisation centres for children with acute malnutrition, that is what is at issue here and why so many foreign ministers came together to issue a statement condemning Israel’s actions.
israel’s actions will add to the suffering of the women and children of Gaza

It has also been condemned by 16 Israeli based humanitarian groups who note that these aid groups are also vitally defending Palestinians from the escalating attacks by settlers in the WB.

A joint statement reads: “In parallel with, and as part of, Israel’s assault on the people of Gaza, humanitarian access has been severely constrained since October 2023.
“Despite the ceasefire, essential aid – including food, medicine, shelter, and hygiene items – continues to be delayed or denied. The deregistration of 37 NGOs undermines principled humanitarian action, endangers staff and communities, and compromises effective aid delivery.

“In the West Bank, as Israeli military, institutional, and settler violence reach unprecedented levels, NGOs play a crucial role in supporting the most vulnerable communities. International humanitarian organisations are essential to reaching those most in need, supporting local partners, and ensuring accountability and transparency; blocking their work puts lives at risk.
“Israel, as the occupying power, has an obligation to ensure adequate supplies to Palestinian civilians. Not only is it failing to fulfil that obligation, but it is also preventing others from filling the gap.
“The new registration framework violates core humanitarian principles of independence and neutrality. Conditioning aid on political alignment, penalising support for legal accountability, and requiring the disclosure of sensitive personal data of Palestinian staff and their families all constitute a breach of duty of care and expose workers to surveillance and harm. This weaponisation of bureaucracy institutionalises barriers to aid and forces vital organisations to suspend operations.”
It concludes: “Ensuring access to humanitarian aid is a legal obligation, not a discretionary choice.
“We call on the government of Israel to immediately halt deregistration proceedings, remove barriers to humanitarian and human rights action, and allow international organisations to operate safely and effectively.

Other NGOs are providing those services. Ones that don’t mind providing basic information about their employees & can provide employees who are neutral (or at least can keep their personal views out of it while providing humanitarian aid in Gaza) & have no links to anything anti Israel.

Everexpanding · 04/01/2026 10:10
  • No they aren’t, that is the issue, MSF are very experienced and operate all over the world without issue
  • But Israel thinks it is necessary to ban NGOs that support prosecution of Israeli security forces in foreign or international courts like the ICC or ICJ
  • why would you worry about that if you weren’t committing war crimes? But it fits with Israel’s other efforts to stop documenting of it’s crimes, like banning foreign journalists and killing Palestinian ones

This is a strange way to say will agree to turn a blind eye to war crimes and crimes against humanity. Do you think that's a positive thing, aid workers being forced to ignore war crimes or they will be booted out? It sounds a lot like you agree with it.

I agree with people keeping their personal views out of it while operating in the highly sensitive area that is Gaza.

7/10 has shown Israel (for anyone doubting it before) that they can’t be too careful. In fact they have been criticised for not being careful enough pre the Hamas attack.

Twiglets1 · 04/01/2026 10:28

More than 260 media professionals were killed in the recent hostilities in Gaza – the deadliest conflict for journalists in decades.

https://news.un.org/en/story/2025/12/1166481

Yes but a lot of the journalists or so called journalists were found to have links to Hamas. We have been over all this before so have no interest in going over old ground.

Everexpanding · 04/01/2026 10:30

if no interest in going over old ground perhaps stop spreading the same Israeli misinformation? Just a thought

MSF can carry on operating in other areas all over the world & they do great work. But in Gaza specifically some of their employees were accused by Israel of having links to Hamas. Obviously you won’t believe that and I will ( neither of us actually know so it boils down to who we trust). But equally obviously, Israel will no longer tolerate NGOs providing aid without them adhering to the new rules & no one can make them despise posturing by certain foreign leaders, etc.
