Writer Naoise Dolan Abducted in International Waters

Writer, Naoise Dolan, has just been illegally abducted from international waters by the Israeli government. Prior to being kidnapped, she wrote about her journey for The Guardian, explaining why they will not get Israel to distribute aid on their behalf.

“Israel likes to ask why we don’t “just” let them distribute our supplies. Besides there being good reason to distrust that this would actually happen when Israel has been deliberately starving Palestinians for two years, doing so would tacitly concede that Israel has the right to control Palestinian waters.”

Israel have just abducted 145 peace activists at gunpoint from international waters, in breach of international law. This follows their abduction of 500 people last week, some of which are still in captivity and those who have been released have reported brutal treatment where they were denied access to water, medical care and legal aid.

Israel will be absolutely fine.

Probably attract more international investment in their world leading medical, engineering, tech and agriculture sectors, especially high tech defence, now they hopefully won’t have constant rocket bombardments and terrorist attacks.

Are you saying Israel should be treated as a pariah state for fighting a defensive war after suffering one of the wirld’s worst terrorist attacks?

I agree Israel should have ignored them rather than give them what they wanted.

The veil is well and truly lifted now, so many more people are aware of the atrocities Israel has committed and continues to commit. Governments that have committed to banning goods from settlements will continue to do so. More governments will recognise a Palestinian state. I would love to see proper sanctions on Israel but we all know that won’t happen. The next best thing is to see IDF soldiers and leaders arrested the second they step out of Israel! I hope we see convictions soon for the genocide.

You say there were no sanctions on Germany??? If you read a history book you will see that Germany was politically isolated and economically punished following WW1 and WW2. The economic sanctions were incredibly harsh after WW1 to the point that their currency was completely devalued and after WW2 there was starvation and people were selling valuable antiques and jewellery for small amounts of food. Berlin was divided and remained divided during many of our lifetimes and it is only in the last few decades that the country became whole again.

Also WW1 was far more complex in who was to blame than WW2 - I don’t think we can blame Germany alone for WW1!

I mean, thank God they weren't intercepted by Hamas because it's highly unlikely they would have survived to tell the tale.

Let's be real here. You don't go sailing into a war zone armed only with your white privilege and expect to be treated like a hero unless you're doing it for attention. If they wanted to do something to help the Palestinian people they would have been campaigning for a ceasefire.

In fairness Hamas don’t have any issue with peace activists, the flotilla’s carried vital medical supplies and had doctors and nurses on board so they likely would have been welcomed. Israel are far more dangerous to peace activists, they have killed quite a few over the years, they are also far more dangerous to doctors and nurses when you look at the numbers imprisoned and murdered!

Lol you have literally been calling the people on the flotilla’s names and making assertions about them with no evidence or anything to back it up. What is the point of this needless incessant posting, other than to distract the conversation from the real issues and bury the important information and links further down the thread.

After I posted some links, facts, and figures showing the war crimes of Israel some of the pro Israel posters wrote on the board that pro Israel posters should “ignore” my posts and not engage with me - ie let any evidence I post be pushed down the thread. This has happened on more than one occasion.

I would now say we should use their tactics to stop threads being derailed, if you find someone is starting silly arguments over nothing, deliberately veering the conversation away from the issue and trying to fill the thread with nonsense just ignore them! Don’t respond and as mean children do, pretend it is just the wind! I have gotten drawn in on countless occasions and it goes no where.

At the end of the day the facts speak for themselves, 55,000+ kids suffering from malnutrition, a huge unknown quantity of murder victims and peace activists from around the world abducted at sea. All of the aid agencies and peace keeping groups agree with these facts.

The IDF are an army fighting an unprecedented war against heinous terrorists IMO. Brave men and women, most still in or barely out of their teens, some Arab Muslim, Druze, Christian, fighting alongside Jews, against evil, cowardly, terrorists who committed the type of barbaric atrocities of Oct 7th, who hide behind children to save themselves in a war they started.

Care to link to the post where I have called them names? I have said they are privileged because they are. No one who is not privileged has the luxury of sitting around on boats in the Mediterranean waiting for the publicity that comes from being boarded by the Israelis. No one who is not privileged is flown back to a welcoming party in Libya a few days after being arrested. No one who is not privileged gets released from Israeli jails as quickly as that!

Whatever way you look at it, people are fucking stupid to involve themselves in a war zone if they don't have to and are not trained to. Especially when they are doing it to virtue signal on behalf of terrorists.
