Wonder why the project had to be secret. Far too often see all the pro Israeli content everywhere not just social media platforms but also forums like this.

Israel’s secret influencer campaign exposed | The Jerusalem Post

The filings reveal that a firm called Bridges Partners LLC has been hired to manage an influencer network under a project code-named the “Esther Project.”

Two key points from the “Esther Project” revelations:

  • The campaign was explicitly designed to sway public opinion abroad during Israel’s war on Gaza.
  • It involved covert funding and coordination to make content appear “grassroots,” when in reality it was a fully organised PR effort.
TicklishMauveSquid · 02/10/2025 20:06

Wow. Israel left it very late in the game to set this up didn't they? June 2025.

Wonder if an expose will be done on who's managed and directed Hamas PR before and after Oct 7th?

You do realise every country at war has a PR campaign? They even had them in WW1 and WW2 although no internet, social media, AI and video/picture editing back then.

Israel has always failed badly in this respect as they were of the view that no matter what they said, they'd be hated anyway, whereas the Palestinians have been very well backed. Iranian, Russian and Chinese bot farms are a major factor in this.

I have often been suspicious they were posting on here tbh, although I have only seen the very few pro-Israel posters being accused of being bots!

Israel definitely need to fight back against the Palestinian disinformation war.

Officials and researchers say the deluge of online propaganda and disinformation is larger than anything seen before.

Martymcfly24 · 02/10/2025 21:56

Its not new @TicklishMauveSquid . This is just another chapter in the propaganda, free trips to Israel for Republicans, billboards in Times Square, trucks driving around New York, graphic ads on X and YouTube etc. Also as you can see from this article it's nearly ten years old https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-news-from-elsewhere-23695896

Now look that's Israels prerogative to do this and they probably feel it is necessary but it's slightly disingenuous to suggest they are merely catching up in the propaganda wars and that Israel didn't bother because they decided it was pointless.

BelleHathor · 02/10/2025 22:46

It's secret because people don't like being tricked by propaganda.

I'm surprised that they actually registered these influencers under FARA ("The Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) is a U.S. law requiring individuals or entities representing foreign principals (governments, organizations, or persons) to register with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and disclose their relationship, activities, and financial compensation. Enacted in 1938, FARA aims to promote transparency by revealing activities intended to influence U.S. policy or public opinion"

It's been a long strategy that intensified after the horrific massacres that happened in Sabra and Shatila after Israel invaded Lebanon and were broadcast around the world :

It's not really surprising Israel did something to counter the billions Qatar and Iran have been pouring into infiltrating education/politics/MSM/SM around the world with disinformation and propaganda to vilify Israel and Jewish people for years- will there be similar outrage that they've also been playing the long game with so many willing helpers or is the disapprobation just reserved for Israel?

Just reserved for Israel apparently, I wonder why 🤷🏼‍♀️

Some are so paranoid about Israel having any supporters at all they are even suspicious of MNs that dare to post in support of Israel. We must be paid for our opinions don’t ya know.

Given the sheer number of women and children killed in Israel I was originally surprised that a forum aimed at mainly mums would still support Israel and blame everyone else for the massacre.

20,000 children killed give or take a few.

I am also struggling to remember anyone ever defending Iran’s behaviour on this platform. Haven’t read a pro Iran story in the media for decades. Please do share if you have any from a mainstream media outlet.

Those in the latest influencer Israel group are being paid incredibly well. 7k a post but who knows how accurate that number is.

Though for some reason they don’t want the public knowing. It’s said one of the influencers hid at the back of the picture so they couldn’t be spotted so easily.

Far too often this forum screams about propaganda coming from other camps. There’s even a post about those on the flotilla about being Hamas puppets.

The irony isn’t lost on me.

I’m not blaming “everyone else” for the war, I’m blaming Hamas.

They’re struggling to accept the peace plan aren’t they … seems like they don’t much care about the number of their own civilians dying each day. Which will massively increase if the IDF increase their offensive in Gaza City.

That you would be surprised that anyone on a forum as large & diverse as MN would support Israel in their war against Hamas says more about your anti Jewish attitudes than anything. Were you surprised on 7/10/23 that people were supporting Israel? Were you surprised when Hetanyahu pledged to unleash hell in response?

I wasn’t surprised by his response and guess what - neither was Hamas. They wanted a big conflict in Gaza it just hasn’t worked out the way they hoped.

Gaimbin · 03/10/2025 08:04

I was unaware that mums on a forum aimed mainly at mums had to pick a side and can't have compassion for both Palestinian and Israeli people suffering and dying in this conflict.

There's every possibility some of those on the flotilla are Hamas puppets.

They can of course.

The only people I have zero compassion for are Hamas & their supporters.

Deerfolk · 03/10/2025 08:13

Don’t you remember those awful YouTube adverts that were aimed at children with the music. Urhhh. Plus the weird one with Santa crying. Isreal spends a lot on propaganda

Out of interest how do you define "their supporters"? Would that include anyone that thinks what Israel is doing in Gaza is absolutely wrong and not justified?

So does Iran, Qatar, Hamas, the UK, the US, Russia, China, etc, etc.

MissyB1 · 03/10/2025 08:14

I define Hamas supporters in the context of what I wrote as people that actively show approval/support for what Hamas are doing.

So if you are someone that celebrated on 7/10 or contributed to the attacks, if you cheered at the vile hostage shows for example, if you are someone in Gaza that has helped to conceal a hostage, if you are someone knowingly involved in Hamas propaganda - then I have no sympathy for you.

Twiglets1 · 03/10/2025 08:27

So no @MissyB1 it would not include anyone that thinks what Israel is doing in Gaza is absolutely wrong and not justified?

That's just personal opinion as far as I'm concerned and I respect other people's right to have a different opinion to myself.

Even I (as an Israel supporter) believe the Israel government's response has become disproportionate so I can understand why some people might be horrified at how many civilians are getting killed. I want peace in Gaza more than anything.

Yup, they placed them on YouTube kids which is meant to be suitable for parents to trust will be safe for their kids. It also repeated the 40 deads babies lie.

Stop calling people anti semetic just because we don’t agree with what Israel is doing. Please for the love of god get a better argument and stand point. Stop defaulting to that one narrative when it clearly isn’t true as much as you’d want it to be.

Should I call you anti Muslim every time?

There is blame on both sides. Have a listen to what Jon Stewart a prominent Jew and comedian has to say on the matter.

No you don’t need to call me anti Muslim because I can see both points of view re what is happening in Gaza. I have many times expressed sympathy for innocent Gaza civilians not associated with Hamas and I have disagreed with several different aspects of Israel’s policy in this war.

If you are surprised that ANY of the huge MN community support Israel then it’s pretty clear you have anti Jewish attitudes.

People without a clear bias would absolutely have expected what we in fact see - a variety of opinions.

Twiglets1 · 03/10/2025 10:08

I’m surprised that given the death toll of innocent women and children in Palestine being killed indiscriminately still gets people voicing support like you for Israel. That’s where my surprise lies. Where have you ever said what about the poor Palestinian women and children? Where is your empathy? 20,000 children. Read that number out loud.

You are all over the boards constantly harping on about Hamas this, Hamas that. Where has anyone offered their support to Hamas? You are incredibly anti Muslim. The sad thing is you can’t see it or you can and don’t care. But I’m being accused of being anti semetic because I hate what Israel is doing and I don’t buy into their propaganda BS.

OP posts:

I'm not anti Muslim let alone incredibly anti Muslim and if I were I wouldn't have expressed concern at Israel blocking humanitarian aid to Gazans and I wouldn't have said I disagree with Israel allowing the Settlers in the West Bank. I have made posts before showing regret at what has happened to Palestinian women & children and all innocent civilians in Gaza but no, I'm not going to waste time searching for them because most people reading this know my stance which is not as you describe.

Your comment about being surprised that a forum aimed at mainly mums would still support Israel shows a lack of understanding that both sides has many supporters. How can that be anything other than antisemitic? I would never say I'm surprised people can support Russia for example, because I have nothing against Russians only that their government was wrong in my opinion to start the war against Ukraine. Every war has supporters on both sides so there's no reason Israel would have no supporters on MN.

You repeating 20,000 children repeatedly on threads doesn't make the number any more or less meaningful. It is a terrible number which no one has ever disputed. The whole dispute is whether ultimately we blame Israel or Hamas for the war. I happen to blame Hamas but that doesn't make me anti Muslim.

Who's propaganda are you buying then? You're definitely buying someone's.

BTW the figures you are quoting come straight from Hamas.

Certainly children have been killed as they were deliberately put in harms way and there doesn't seem to have much interest or pressure from pro-Palestinians to evacuate children out of the war zone as they would be any other war, but I'd like to know how many 13-19 year olds were recruited by Hamas to replenish the fighters they have lost.

You know the 8 children that were killed outside a clinic as they were queuing for supplements were they deliberately put on harms way.
