No. I responded to a pp who said 'As pointed out many many times before the practise of utilising children as soldiers was banned by Hamas 20 years ago'.

This is incorrect. Or at leadt they carried on despite the 'ban". It wasn't me that brought it up though.

Why are you and that pp so invested in this particular piece of misinformation?

Anyway. 20 000 children murdered by the IDF.

I don't think its me that's doing the dodging here!

Wedonttalkaboutboris · 24/09/2025 20:14

On a thread about the fact that Israel have killed 20,000 children- potentially more- we have several people blaming Hamas. People insinuating that lots of children are child soldiers working for Hamas. We even have one poster equating all Palestinians (babies included I suppose) with Hamas and fantasising about bombing themselves if they were hostages… but we’re the ones ‘dodging’?

Thegreyhound You could maybe help by offering yourself in exchange for one of those there now.

They could go home to their families and you could be as kind as you like to those torturing you.

Ah yes, of course- it’s entirely the civilians fault for not staging a coup under siege, bombing, and occupation. Tens of thousands of children dead, entire families wiped off the registry, neighbourhoods flattened, but if they’d just rebelled against Hamas then Israel’s actions would be fine, right? Incredible mental gymnastics. One side is conducting a deliberate, disproportionate campaign of destruction- blaming the victims doesn’t make that any less obvious.

Your lack of compassion for innocent Palestinian civilians is blinding. 20,000 children are just collateral damage to you.

Starving children? 20 000 dead children? This is a thread about them, not the hostages.
By posting about the hostages you seem to be implying that there is a justification for the murder of 20 000 children. I don’t think so.

Maybe Palestinians are a bit busy starving or trying to relocate their entire families while Israel plays some warped and cruel game of Simon says or maybe trying to pull their children from the rubble of civilian homes that Israelis have bombed to try and as you put it “ rise up”
Blaming victims of a genocide for their own fate is truly revolting

Posters here fell over themselves to say how he would have grown up to be terrorist anyway so it doesn't matter.

What a vivid imagination you have ... any more examples of things that never happened?

No it really did. It was in the savage early days of this conflict where you would be deleted here for calling it genocide because it hurt some people's feelings but you could shit on Palestinians all you want. The thread about the poor babies left to die in incubators was another doozy.

100%! I completely remember those dark days, people had to literally walk on eggshells..... 💐for all those that had to see the dehumanisation and pushed back wherever they may be today ❤️

So you were calling it a genocide in the early days … interesting.

No wonder posts got deleted for saying that shortly after 7/10.

But I’ve been posting on here quite a long time now and have never seen anyone say a child deserves to die as would have grown up to be a terrorist anyway. So it’s hardly people “falling over themselves” to say it. Maybe someone said it or implied it ages ago and you’re still going on about it like those currently debating the war on MN are culpable.

Sorry @BelleHathor that people had to “walk on eggshells” in the aftermath of 7/10. I guess anyone with a connection to Israel or empathy for Israel was feeling a little sensitive.

I don’t think you could walk on eggshells if you tried, tbh

I remember how posters rushed to MN to make excuses for Oct 7. I remember the lack of empathy immediately after a brutal massacre of civilians. I remember a lot of posts being deleted for absolutely blatant antisemitism.

Emotions were high and people were upset, yes, but for the benefit of anyone reading today who wasn’t on the board at the time, it really wasnt as you describe.

Well exactly. Anyone calling Israel's entirely legitimate response to Hamas's 7 October attack 'genocide' in the early months of the war (regardless of what you think about how the war has developed) was clearly wrong and had only one motivation, which was to demonise Israel.

God forbid people might be sensitive to the feelings of people who had just witnessed the worst attack on Jewish people since the Holocaust. Israelis (we used to have some that posted here) and British Jews were in deep shock.

I wasn’t on these threads at the time but don’t believe for a minute it was as described.

I can believe people on the pro Israel side were more upset and emotional than the way we tend to post today, which is generally calmly and often to address misinformation.

Im glad I wasn’t on these threads then. I would have been disgusted by people rushing to make excuses for 7/10 right after it happened and with zero sympathy for Israel.

No wonder it’s vanishingly rare to get a Jewish person posting on these threads. It must have been heart breaking for them to see the antisemitism expressed on Mumsnet even in the wake of their citizens being murdered, tortured & raped.

I hope people feel proud who have driven away all the Jewish members of MN from this board. They may think they’ve won but they haven’t 🇮🇱

Keir Starmer said that Israel ‘did have the right’ to cut vital life saving utilities to Gaza. Such acts from Israel signified a mass punishment signalling a genocidal intent. It was clear from what Israeli politicians said in the earliest days that there was genocidal intent.
It was absolutely crystal clear that this was heading for a genocide after not much time had passed at all.
it was also obvious that the UK would be complicit and no one would stop it.

It’s hardly vanishingly rare to find a supporter of Israel- the same posters flood every thread again and again.
How do you know the religious beliefs of those posting here? How do you know how many people on this thread are Jewish? How do you know whether I am or not?
Stop equating Judaism with support for the Israeli government and support for genocide. Stop implying that all British Jews are afraid of criticism of Israel.
Saying that Israel = Judaism and Judaism = Israel. That in itself is antisemitic

I'm not getting into an argument about this. If a person called it genocide in the first few months their motivation was clear.
