Respect for all opinions but
There are Jewish people on the CEM threads and making comparisons are inappropriate and upsetting for them.

Yes, Palestinian journalists. Hardly unbiased are they

Do you believe any sources that aren’t Netanyahu?

If your ancestors fought in WW2, then you should understand the realities of war? People die. Babies die. If social media was around in the 1940s, do you think we’d all sit around and think Britain was treating the Germans gently and kindly, and no one was being killed? I hate war as much as the next person, but let’s not pretend Israel should treat their enemy fairly

So you admit that the Palestinian people are Israel’s real enemy, and not Hamas?

Israel should abide by the Geneva Convention
They haven’t
They have committed war crimes

I’m not sure whether I’m allowed to post these kinds of links, but those who are feeling that they want to do more to help - maybe consider a donation to this organisation. I saw a feature about them on Channel 4 news a couple of weeks ago and their work seems really good, and very grassroots. It’s run by some Palestinian siblings who fled last year. One lives in Manchester, one in Egypt, and I think maybe one in Australia.

This is the part I find particularly hard to understand - powerful members of the Israeli government have specifically said that they want to destroy Gaza and any hope of a Palestinian state and people still aren’t worried about how this all and for the Palestinian people.

Edited

Hamas leaders have continually said they want to destroy Israel and everyone in it. Do you worry about Israelis?

Enrichetta · 22/08/2025 19:43

allusernamesaretakennow · 22/08/2025 18:56

Their terrorist leaders have turned down their own state a number of times. Imagine if all those years ago they agreed to their own state and built it up to prosper just like Israel did. Both countries living alongside each other building their respective countries up rather than one holding hand out for aid whilst their terrorist leaders live in billionaire luxury in other Arab countries. It's pretty disgusting actually. Failed miserably by their own people who lead them.

I’m not sure in which alternate universe you live to believe this.

I'm quite old, and yet even I was born years after all this shit started. I wonder how many people commenting here have any idea how the State of Israel came to be and how it completely obliterated the Palestinians people’s right to live in peace.

A PP suggested that all would be well if Palestinians simply rolled over and rebuilt their homes. As if Israel didn’t have form for routinely bulldozing their houses for entirely spurious reasons. Evicting them from their ancestral homes in Hebron and Jerusalem.

This is not going to end unless and until the Big Powers step in and decide to act and force Israel to give up their quest to take over the West Bank and Gaza. Which is all the Palestinians have left of their ancestral lands.

How would Zionists in their UK bubble feel if some external power was to decide that we should give up our country to accommodate some displaced people from somewhere thousands of miles away?

The Palestinians voted for Hamas. They are controlled by Hamas. They are indoctrinated from birth to hate Israel and Jews. The hatred is so visceral you cannot possibly understand it. But no Palestinians are not the enemy, Hamas is. And Hamas sadly controls what happens to them.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 22/08/2025 19:45

I'm not sure why my comment was deleted tbh, I didnt say anything i would take back, and definitely did not insult everyday Jewish people, who are just as innocent as the palestinians are.

A genocide isnt a 'reality of war'. Those who revel in this, and write off Palestine's suffering are evil. End of.

The end of Hitler came so late. The end of this genocide is even later.

But yes, Netanyahu belongs in prison. Peace be upon the Palestinians ❤️

That’s not what your original comment said. The last free elections were held far too long ago to claim this is what the Palestinian people want

Yes I read books, listen to podcasts and watch videos. I read articles that aren’t by Al Jazeera. Plus I’ve actually been to Israel so have some understanding of the history and politics. Have you been to the Middle East? I’d hazard a guess and say no..

You’re right, a lot of Palestinians hate Hamas and how they’re being treated by them. That’s why we should be supporting Israel in its aims to destroy Hamas and all of Iran’s proxies, like it did with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Shouldn’t you be supporting this objective?

I said the Middle East, not Israel.
But clearly you have no intention of visiting the area, wonder why that could be..?

Dangermoo · 22/08/2025 19:50

Considering the amount of guilt tripping and shaming towards posters, who have alternative opinions, some of these posts have been disgusting. Be consistent or don't bother.

Massively. I worry displacing 2m people, wiping out their families and homes makes a lot of people very vulnerable to extremism. People who have lost everything are easier to radicalise. People who watch the IDF protect settler violence are easier to radicalise. People who are starving and told they are not are easier to radicalise. And who will be hurt by these radicalised people - everyday Israeli people.

Everexpanding · 22/08/2025 19:57

No evidence of Hamas diverting Aid, a manufactured Famine, manufactured by the Israeli government

I would add that the segregation and racism of Arab people just within Israel itself is shockingly visible when you visit and that the government-supported settler violence and the things senior politicians say are pretty compelling reasons to believe the Israeli government are not to be trusted when it comes to Palestinian land and the wellbeing of its people.

Hopefully you’re calling for the release of the hostages then. Seeing as you care about Israeli lives and all that.
