mass strike?

Why cant we all go on strike re israels genocode? Obviously we don't want NHS to collapse and certain infrastructure has to keep moving but how are we not all screaming from the top of our lungs about Palestinians being starved and slaughtered. Money/loss of is where it will hurt those in power, sadly so many people don't seem to care or think this has anything to do with them but I'd like to think that at least half the UK population is as utterly distraught as I am about this. If everyone chose not to go into work as a form of protest surely the government would stand up and listen. Peaceful protest doesn't seem to cut it 🙄 I know it's not as simple as this and would take a LOT of planning, and not everyone would be paid for going on strike which is a privilege to even do so but I'm in utter despair about how this will ever stop and radical action seems needed!

Also out of curiosity, are people boycotting the likes of coca cola/Starbucks etc and those linked with supporting this Genocide?

@Pubgarden I have never uttered the words Housewives for Hamas in my life.

Pubgarden · 24/07/2025 08:49

Not you. Another poster.

Err, what do you mean by you're surprised to still see me here? The accusations of my celebrating murder were deleted. So you're saying I should be banned? That's against talk guidelines.

So why did you accuse @SharonEllis of "making up names like Housewives of Hamas" if she wasn't the one who said it?

Again, you are twisting my posts. I have every right, especially as I'm paying for the privilege, to post on here. I am going to continue to report every false accusation, that is made to strengthen one's own argument.

You're not talking about me suddenly leaving the thread. You were insinuating I should have been banned.

My post was in general.
I have explained that I meant another poster.

RainSoakedNights · 24/07/2025 09:28

As per there’s one poster on this thread who’s trying to derail the talks.

the reason, @wellwellwell39is because it wouldn’t make a difference. The entire of Europe could down tools tomorrow, but America will keep going and they will keep funding it.

I think you owe her an apology since you did accuse her of making up names she didn’t. But I don’t hold out much hope.

Pubgarden · 24/07/2025 09:32

Apologies to you @SharonEllis . I was so appalled by some of the posts on this thread I replied to them all under a reply to you. That wasn't my intention.

Pubgarden · 24/07/2025 09:41

I've been back to try to find out who the poster was. I think that post has, like so many on this thread, been deleted.

Some good news for the pro-Palestinians on here. Presumably you will all be voting for Corbyn now, correct?

Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana have confirmed the launch of a new hard-Left party to fight Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour.

The former Labour leader and his fellow now-independent MP said it was “time for a new kind of political party” in a statement on Thursday.

The pair have invited voters to sign up to the Left-wing faction via the website yourparty.uk, although The Telegraph understands the new project will not be called Your Party and that its name is to be confirmed.

Pubgarden · 24/07/2025 15:08

Dear me, the 'correct?' is so confrontational and annoying.

You are easily offended. Faux offence, methinks.

Meanwhile you STILL refuse to provide your views on Palestinian Action. Until you do, please move on.

Not offended. Just find it commanding, bossy and repetitive.

I do not support Palestinian Action. This is a public opinion board, it's not for you to tell people to move on.

Aiming for 25% of the vote ... they'll be lucky.

I could be completely wrong but I just can't imagine many serious MPs will want to join this party or that it will be hugely popular with voters. We all voted Labour in my household and we certainly wouldn't want to split the Labour vote and risk the Tories (or Reform!) getting in again.

I know Corbyn used to have a lot of supporters, but less so now I imagine. I think his time has come and gone (but may be proved wrong, of course).

How do you feel about what’s happening to the women and girls of Afghanistan OP that we literally deserted??

But do you condemn PA?

Let me remind you that they are a proscribed Terrorist Group, under the Terrorism Act, 2000.

Please advise.

These are febrile times Twigs.

Populism, ‘dog whistle’ politics, virtue signalling, tribalism, and tactical voting.

God.

One of the comments under the article has made me smile, "Sultana and Worzel Gummidge could do us all a favour and rip Labour apart".

Not the sentiment... just the reference to Worzel Gummidge.

Condemn what? Their existence? Right to protest? The woman who stands in my town with a board that says Stop Genocide?

I don't condemn her, that's for sure.
