mass strike?

Why cant we all go on strike re israels genocode? Obviously we don't want NHS to collapse and certain infrastructure has to keep moving but how are we not all screaming from the top of our lungs about Palestinians being starved and slaughtered. Money/loss of is where it will hurt those in power, sadly so many people don't seem to care or think this has anything to do with them but I'd like to think that at least half the UK population is as utterly distraught as I am about this. If everyone chose not to go into work as a form of protest surely the government would stand up and listen. Peaceful protest doesn't seem to cut it 🙄 I know it's not as simple as this and would take a LOT of planning, and not everyone would be paid for going on strike which is a privilege to even do so but I'm in utter despair about how this will ever stop and radical action seems needed!

Also out of curiosity, are people boycotting the likes of coca cola/Starbucks etc and those linked with supporting this Genocide?

People forget the tribal nature of much of the region. I rather suspect that the ‘Palestinians’ are destined for a state of perpetual torment

No, they’ll be bulldozed by the Israeli govt. killed or moved elsewhere and a new massive hotel complex holiday resort will be built where their homes once stood. This will happen in the Wb too I reckon.
The land will be stolen
The people expelled or killed.

This is what some people are hoping for on this thread it seems?

Jamesblonde2 · 23/07/2025 22:44

Because it’s got bog all to do with me.

I thought you were complaining you weren't allowed to discuss anything. Instead of making libellous posts, why don't you do something pragmatic to ease your weary mind. I'm sure there are charities you could volunteer for.

Lonelycrab · 23/07/2025 22:59

Israelis and those that support them (i.e
a lot of Jews) are 'subhuman'

The world will turn their backs 'on these people'

Blaming Netanyahu for attacks on Jews when knly an antisemite holds Jews responsible for the actions of the Israeli government.

And we see your crocodile tears.

Accusing posters of being bought by the Israeli government.

Are we seeing how antisemitism works yet?

Dangermoo · 23/07/2025 23:04

All their posts are being reported.@sharonellis @sharonellis

no no no no absolutely no @SharonEllis

I see what you did there as absolutely most of the world does too.

I said supporters of the Israeli govt

And you twisted that into all Israelis and all Jews.

We can all see how this misconstruing works now.

Re. Boycotting Israeli products – why the double standard?
Where was all this when the US and UK invaded Iraq? That war killed hundreds of thousands of civilians, and it was based on weapons that didn’t even exist. Yet no one was calling to boycott American or British products back then — no talk of banning iPhones or Walkers crisps.
So why is it only Israel that gets this treatment?
If we’re going to boycott over wars and civilian deaths, shouldn’t we apply that consistently, no matter the country?
Selective outrage strikes again…

Kakeandkake · 23/07/2025 23:19

You think boycotting doesn't work?

It does

The British Medical Association voted this month to suspend ties with the Israeli medical association. Guess what happened? For the first time the Israeli association have spoken out and have called on their government to allow in medical aid into Gaza.

Kakeandkake · 23/07/2025 23:20

Boycotting and sanctions are one effective way of putting pressure on the Israeli government to halt their genocidal ways.

UrbanOasis · 23/07/2025 23:24

EachFallenRobin · 23/07/2025 16:46

I'll bet you've never considered striking about any other overseas conflict, have you OP?

Well, speaking for myself, as a 60 year old, yes, I have protested many many things from apartheid onwards, and involving many countries. So this is just the latest. But it is certainly one of the worst I have lived through. By a long way.

Iraq is not known and never has been as a western ally of democracy as Israel is.

That makes no sense. Hamas is not a UK ally. United States is. I thought we cared about people in gaza for humanitarian, not political reasons. So we only boycott countries that are our allies?

MyNameIsX · 24/07/2025 07:13

Meanwhile, those castigating Israel, never criticise the abuses that Hamas are inflicting on their ‘own’ people.

Funny that.

Dangermoo · 24/07/2025 07:26

They don't see that arabs see Palestinians as second class citizens; They are used as cannon fodder to pressure Israel in the mission to eradicate it. As you can see from this thread, it's pointless trying to have a discussion with posters, who are not only not knowledgeable in the subject area, but juvenile to boot. They use emotional language, such as shame on you - one of the stock chants from the moral crusade. No idea, whatsoever about the Arab tribes/Muslim Brotherhood and the provision of millions from some of those richer Arab nations to aid to Hamas and the other terrorist scum, take out the Jewish population. Hamas purposely massacred during a ceasefire. Useful idiots see nothing other than what Hamas and their other operatives want them to see.

Pubgarden · 24/07/2025 08:37

SharonEllis · 23/07/2025 22:32

This was in response to @Pubgarden

Now I understand. False comparison is acceptable so long as it comes from you.

When you're making up names like Housewives for Hamas in order to drown out the voices of people (people who have told you they have no political bent) who are caring about starving and maimed children you must have some niggle at the back of your mind know you are on the wrong side of history.

Some emotion is good. Not all knowledge is correct.

Anyway, my time is probably better spent raising money for the innocent children involved in this catastrophe rather than arguing with aggressive people on the Internet.
