Kneecap and now this.....There are some absolute fits playing at Glastonbury and I am sure there are some virtue signalling loons cheering this.

Hope turnpike throw the book at them.

Bobby Vylan of British duo Bob Vylan performs on the West Holts Stage

Police review footage of chants led by Glastonbury acts

The government condemned chants from rap duo Bob Vylan which were streamed live and called for "death" to the Israeli military.

Their support of Hezbollah etc seems a pathetic attempt to seem edgy and relevant
They have denied this and charges have been dropped

Denied support of Hezbelloh while yelling "Up Hezbollah, up Hamas”"...

Yes criminal charges have been dropped but no one can seriously think they don't support Hezbollah after the above comments made at a previous show.

Nobody should have been allowed in with a flag
What flag?

The flag that's been picked up - literally in some cases - to wave a show of solidarity, with a fuck you to a real persecuted race. You knew that so I'm not sure why you asked.

They waved the Hezbollah flag .
They posted pictures of themselves reading books by terrorists.

But I agree - they don’t REALLY support Hezbollah… it’s just a useful promotional exercise for them

I completely agree. But am just demonstrating that all of Gaza isn't "destroyed" and they seem to have working mobile phones and internet access too.

I think there is internet access but it has been cut at times. Many people in Gaza have Esims now.

Here’s an old but interesting article on how Palestinians are charging their phones and how important it is.

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/how-charge-phone-gaza-patience-required-sunshine-helps-2024-01-16/#:~:text=You%20can%20charge%20it%20to,there%20is%20fuel%20for%20that.

Again this is a year out of date but the google maps the level of destruction.

I don't know it which is why I have asked. What flag was being waved? are you talking about at Glastonbury? A Hamas flag a Hezbollah flag? a Palestinian flag?

They're all the same. Any flag that calls for the intifada is a dark one. Shame the flag wavers don't understand that, or don't want to.

They picked up a flag thrown on stage and waved it. agree stupid move does not mean they support terrorists

They posted pictures of themselves reading books by terrorists.
So?

I am not a kneecap fan but their music and actions are very anti terrorism, anti paramilitary activities and they support dialogue. They provide a good distraction though for the likes of Starmer and I will be interested to see if he will be just as vocal about things on July 12th when people in their thousands will be burning effigies of Irish and nationalist politicians and the Irish flag

Vague response so no detail....
I would be surprised if Hamas or Hezbollah flags were waved and the people not arrested. The Palestinian flag is a legitimate flag to wave so build a bridge

Why should any country take refugees from a war zone?

Why did the UK & other countries take refugees from Ukraine?

It’s a known thing for other countries to do during wars.

Israel has blocked all movement out of Gaza, even if they wanted too.

But that wasn't want the pp wanted, it was to permanently move Gazans out and put Israelis in.

You flippantly say build a bridge for a flag that represents the elimination/expulsion of the Jewish from the ME, then have the nerve to talk about ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. A legitimate flag, with undertones that so many gullible people don't see. Actually, it's not just the Jewish in Israel that the terrorist scum seek to eliminate. That's why, Jews everywhere, are being targeted, via the flag and protests. It's nothing to do with humanitarianism; it it were, Jews wouldn't feel unsafe in the first place. The double standards are palpable.

Why on earth have the charges been dropped? Oh yes, I predict the ensuing riots were a factor. We've already had to put up with chaos on the streets of London, for long enough.

You know what, that final sentence, about being horrified about what both sides are doing... I so often see that on here but I'm curious about it. Yes both sides have shown theyre capable of horrific actions. However now that they are at war, opposing sides in a war, I do think most people pick a side really. And for those who pick the Palestinian side, why? You say we don't agree with either, but then you pick the Palestinian side to fall on. Why is that?

People on the left often support Palestine over the Israeli state because they view the situation as one of systemic oppression and colonial domination. Israel's military occupation of the West Bank, its blockade of Gaza, and its settlement expansion are seen as violations of international law and expressions of apartheid.
The Gaza Blockade, which restricts movement, goods, medicine, and electricity for over 2 million people, creating what many call an open-air prison.
Military occupation of the West Bank - where Palestinians face home demolitions, checkpoints, night raids, and lack of equal legal rights under a dual legal system (civil law for settlers, military law for Palestinians).
Settlement expansion - which displaces Palestinian communities and fragments their land, violating UN resolutions. Take a look at the agreed apportionment of land last century versus what has now been taken.
Disproportionate use of force…including repeated bombardments of Gaza resulting in mass civilian casualties, destruction of infrastructure, and widespread trauma.
Legal discrimination within Israel, where Palestinian citizens face unequal access to housing, land, and political power, as documented by groups like Human Rights Watch and B’Tselem.
These realities resonate with leftist principles of anti-racism, anti-colonialism, and social justice, leading many on the left to identify with the Palestinian struggle.
Hope that helps.

Well it helps to see the focus of your narrative and I'm sure it makes you feel like a good person, there are of course other differing experiential narratives woven into the picture which you may have discounted.
Peaceful, prosperous co-existence of nation states with moderate governance seems like a good end goal to me, I don't think that's possible with jihadists at the helm. As a socialist(?) you might appreciate the kibbutzim set-up more than some....or perhaps not. I'm sure you're appalled by the sequestering and misuse of aid wealth by hamas leadership, and their use of Gazans as cannon fodder.

You do realise that lots of people on these marches are Jewish themselves. And many other Jewish people support the marches. This is not about being anti-Jew, it's anti the Israeli government and anti - genocide.

That doesn't excuse the intimidation which goes on at these marches. Listen to the people in the Jewish community on these boards who are afraid to leave their homes on the days the marches take place.

And the ones whose kids are being targeted at schools and universities...how is this acceptable?
