I mean tbh, I wouldn’t be even slightly surprised if they are successful. No wonder they tried this in the UK first.

Why haven’t these solicitors been arrested for acting on behalf of, and supporting, a proscribed terrorist organisation already? This is a crime in the UK.

Even after Hamas leaders admitted to the Oct 7th atrocities and said they’d do it again and again.

This is an actual ‘look at our cool team walking in slow motion down the street’ video from the law firm on the case:

What is the MN consensus - Hamas are Freedom Fighters (seen this stated on here multiple occasions) or a terrorist organisation?

Oops, just noticed I missed an s. Title should be terrorist organisations.

Law firm apparently changed its X account background after posting that they were representing Hamas.

I doubt it'll get anywhere tbh. But it's disturbing that the firm is actually practicing law in this country.

quantumbutterfly · 10/04/2025 13:55

Legitimising a violent extremist group that wants to eradicate Jewish people worldwide - what could possibly go wrong?

That’s how I feel about it too.
It’s absolutely insane that they’re even trying it.

They should be arrested for supporting a terrorist organisation.

Xenia · 10/04/2025 14:16

Hopefully they will fail in the application. I support Israel.

PurpleChrayn · 10/04/2025 14:17

I’m sure a lot of people on here wholeheartedly support it!

findingnibbles · 10/04/2025 14:21

Of course they’re not freedom fighters, they’re terrorists. I doubt they will get anywhere.

Rage bait.

dairydebris · 10/04/2025 14:25

Sad comment on current state of affairs that they feel they have a chance, however small, of any success in this country.

Agree there should be legal action against the team bringing this for supporting a terrorist organization. I don't understand how it's even got this far tbh

devourfeculence · 10/04/2025 14:37

I had a look at the x accoubt of the solicitors in question and it's grim. I'm not sure why they're so up in arms about supporting Hamas being illegal when it's clearly not enforced.

Comedycook · 10/04/2025 14:42

Shameful

ZookeeperSE · 10/04/2025 15:00

a ‘resistance movement’ and no threat to Britain

What a weird statement. Surely it would be either:

'we're a terrorist organisation but no threat to Britain
or:
'we're a ‘resistance movement’ and no threat to any country

Unless, of course, it's bullshit... (and it is obviously bullshit)

EasternStandard · 10/04/2025 15:24

Hopefully they will fail.

Concerning though.

Odras · 11/04/2025 12:16

I would be very surprised if they were successful. It doesn’t matter if they are no threat to the UK, lots of terrorist organisations are no threat to the UK.

stonecutter · 11/04/2025 12:40

This does not surprise me. I’ve noticed online a lot more comments about Hamas being “resistance fighters” as well as people openly talking about Jews instead of pretending they just have an issue with “zionists”.

I was hoping my algorithm had just sent me into the depths of hell after some regrettable doomscrolling one day but perhaps it’s just an indication of Jew hate becoming more openly acceptable.

EasternStandard · 11/04/2025 13:00

SM would be a nightmare. Including on here. The laws are against support of proscribed terrorists online and offline rn.

So filming what they did to peace niks at a kibbutz and a music festival isn't proof of terrorist activity, because they aren't really terrorists at all. Fluffy, misunderstood, young people, it's really not their fault they rape, torture, kidnap and murder. If you believe useful idiots in the west all that they filmed is justified. Scary stuff. Shameful.

Poor little bunnies, nothing is ever their fault. After all those nasty people built a lovely prosperous land in the desert and they have a different religion from the rest of the majority in the middle east. Scary stuff.

Of course they feel they have a chance. Listening to support in the west, why wouldn't they. Some are marching in support weekly.

The rise of anti semitism is all over. Hamas are loving it. PR works well for them. The terrorist attack lead to increasing support rather than the opposite.

What a silly comment. 99% of the people marching are marching to stop the violence against Palestinians not because they are pro Hamas.

Anyone who wants to support Palestinian civilians should be marching for the removal of Hamas first.

Mumsnet is full of toothless platitudes about ' I condemn Hamas' followed swiftly by ' But it didn't happen in a vacuum did it?'

"They were naughty but I can understand why' is enough for Hamas. They wanted more hatred of Israel and they are certainly getting what they want in this country.

Shameful for us.

I agree and there is definitely more hatred of Netanyahu and the IDF expressed on this board than hatred of Hamas.

Kingfishersperch · 12/04/2025 07:18

I hope they fail. I also hope this leads to the arrest of terrorist supporters.

Are the solicitors being funded by the proceeds of terrorism?
Or is another country funding them?
Or are terrorist supporters in the U.K. funding them?
Or are they choosing to do the work for free as they support terrorism?

This country needs to sort itself out and quickly. If it doesn’t I wonder what the country will be like in 5/10/15 years.
