It's a good thing you can't read it too, some really awful posts.

Ok.. I'll thank God for small mercies so...

What posts are those? The ones where he details how the IDF will minimise civilian casualties?

Martymcfly24 · 06/05/2025 22:41

Interesting article @Whatsinanamehey

Reading this it definitely seems Netanyahu is really backed into a corner here. He is balancing between the turning tide of opinion from international allies as well as internal unrest in Israel and the far right elements he needs to stay in power. And staying in power has huge implications for not only his career but his own personal freedom.

Add Trump into it in the coming weeks and I fear an explosive time ahead.

Whatsinanamehey · 06/05/2025 22:43

It's so scary how much power the extremists in Israel hold. Netanyahu didn't move onto the second phase of the deal after the extremists threatened to collapse the government if he did. And now he is moving onto the final stage of the genocide despite backlash from allies.

Whatsinanamehey · 06/05/2025 22:44

I have just seen that Trump will also be visiting Saudi so I don't know if that will make any difference.

Martymcfly24 · 06/05/2025 22:53

It is scary. And we can see from comments by the extremists (Smotrich, Gvir etc) that they are not suitable in any way for government. There is no measured diplomacy just hatred.

I think Saudi will reiterate that the Arab world are not willing to absorb 2 million traumatized refugees.

They have also reportedly passed on a message to the Trump administration to not bring up any talks on normalising ties with Israel. I read that somewhere but can't remember where now so il have to double check that. With Trump it's all about deals, so if he thinks he might miss out on a deal with Saudi that benefits him because of Israel's actions, he won't hesitate to throw them under the bus or pressure towards a certain direction. The man has no integrity or loyalty so things could still go either way.

Could not agree more. He has alienated himself so much from most foreign leaders (deep down his administration knows this despite his claim of 200 deals-there are 195 countries) that the money that comes with Saudi deals is not going to be thrown away. I think he will prioritize money and deals over a fictional riviera in Gaza that will cost billions to rebuild

I don't think it's going to be annexed. This is an excellent thread detailing what's happened and what likely to happen next and how it's going to play out Saul Sadka on X

I could only read the motive is ‘divide and conquer’.

If all the people are massed south they the people won’t be divided, only the land will be.

There is nothing suggesting the north won’t be annexed. Maybe the north will be cleared then taken over by military.

One of the Israeli government spokesmen Smotrich:

Far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that in a few months, Israel will be able to declare that it has won the war in Gaza. "What will the image of victory look like? Gaza is completely destroyed.[Gaza's] civilians will be concentrated from the Morag Corridor southwards to a humanitarian area where Hamas and terrorism are absent," and from there, the Palestinians "will start leaving for a third country. Our hostages will have returned home," he said at the Makor Rishon newspaper's conference on settlement.

Twiglets1 · 07/05/2025 14:49

They all sound mad to me - Trump/Netanyahu/Smotrich/Hamas leaders.

What we need are some moderate women in charge (only half joking).

Whatsinanamehey · 07/05/2025 15:04

A crowded marketplace in Gaza was just bombed by Israel, you can see dead and injured young children in the footage 💔

Whatsinanamehey · 07/05/2025 15:08

Yesterday two schools housing displaced Palestinians was bombed resulting in many deaths and injuries. Young children screaming for their parents and parents screaming for their children with many dead. It's just too horrifying for words. I can't comprehend how humans can be so cruel to other humans, not just in this war but with all the pointless killing we are seeing around the world today. I worry about what type of world I am raising my children in.

Whatsinanamehey · 07/05/2025 15:11

I'm sure I'm not the only one.

No, you're not. That's why women might be better in charge...we would we worrying about the children and more concerned with a safe world for them than all these men and their egos.

Well, would Pritty Patel be worried about kids? I think women in power tend to emulate men and all males worst characteristics. Plenty of bastards who are women about.

Wouldn't that imply that there are male behavioural characteristics and female behavioural characteristics? Seems as bad as her being called a coconut. At least let her own her choices as a woman.

Horrifying the world is putting it mildly

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd020j97l79o

Inside Israel, the sharpest criticism of the planned offensive has come from the families of the hostages who fear they have been abandoned by the government that claims to be rescuing them. Hamas still has 24 living hostages in the Gaza Strip, according to Israel, and is holding the bodies of another 35 of the 251 taken on 7 October. The Netanyahu government has claimed repeatedly that only as much military pressure as possible will get the survivors home and return the bodies of the dead to their families.

And yet, Trump has just announced there are now only 21 hostages:

HOSTAGES/CEASE-FIRE: U.S. President Trump said Tuesday that there are now only 21 living hostages in Gaza. Speaking at an Oval Office swearing-in ceremony for Steve Witkoff as U.S. Special Envoy, Trump said that "We're trying to get the hostages out, we've got a lot of them out. As the expression goes, it's 21 plus a lot of dead bodies." The president also said that he does not intend to stop in Israel during his upcoming visit to the Middle East later this month.

The British consulate in Jerusalem said the UK, EU, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey and Japan strongly opposed the closure orders issued against the Unrwa schools and stood "in solidarity with students, parents, and teachers".

Imagine soldiers storming a school when children as young as five are inside. How frightened they must be seeing the IDF soldiers with guns in their school demanding they leave. What sort of 'democracy' acts like this? Like mafias
