Conflict in the Middle East

It is perfectly right for Israel to deny access to MPs at a time of war when their only possible reason to visit was to undermine a country at war

Why are 2 MPs wishing to visit Israel (not on government businees).

Is to look at potential trading ideas? Is is to suggest enhanced military co-operation with an ally? Is to offer personal condensed to the victims of October 7th? Is it to learn more about the culture of Istael?

Of course it isnt.

Two MPs paid by our tax and supposedly representing constituents have tried to go to Israel to make a political point and possibly engage in some sort of protest behaviour. I think Israel is perfectly within their rights to refuse to partake in publicity stiunts or to host representatives of other counties whose sole wish is to criticise them and not support.

Enough said.

I’m not in favour of the evil dictator you have in charge and the bombing of women and children.
That’s not anti semitism.

What evil dictator and who has him in charge?

stomachamelon · 09/04/2025 23:21

I think if you openly post anti Israel rhetoric then you can expect a less than warm welcome.

they tried to fluff their way through immigration, Israel put them In a hotel and flew them home again. Considering their anti inflammatory comments one would suggest that’s more than civil.

I am pleased my local MP posted a picture of all the mp’s supporting these women…. 70.

Israel had as much right to ban people who are there to cause trouble as we are. We just don’t often chose to exercise that right.

Perhaps they should focus on what they were elected to do ie represent their constituents.

Some MPs are more interested in events overseas then here, some made it clear they were standing on a Gaza ticket in the last election, very worrying imo.

Mmmmm maybe there is a reason why they are doing so?!!!

I wonder 💭

stomachamelon · 10/04/2025 10:54

@hellohellooothats Irrelevant tbh. Any other country there wouldn’t be as much as a raised eyebrow as it wouldn’t be ‘news’. Can you imagine China allowing such ‘politicians’ in? Nope…

You have in charge? Is the poster you were responding to Israeli then?

quantumbutterfly · 10/04/2025 12:41

Didn't you know? Anyone who doesn't vilify Israel must be an agent of the state. You do know Jewish people control the media right ?😶Where have you been?

(My apologies to anyone whose sarcasm meter is broken.)

hellohellooo · 10/04/2025 15:58

Madness

Fair play to anyone who attempts to expose the hell they have created

I salute them

stomachamelon · 10/04/2025 16:05

@hellohellooowell you can salute them from/ at their constituencies.
do you often ‘expose hell’ whilst flying into said country, taking their hospitality and expecting privilege? Strange…:

@quantumbutterflyit leaks out eventually….

@mids2019 I entirely agree with you. Unfortunately Mumsnet is hugely biased in favour of a terrorist origination fuelled unfortunately by widespread antisemitism on the left.

Yes, it's absolutely shocking the number of threads parroting Hamas propaganda. The thing I don't get (as an Irish person) is how some British people uncritically support terrorism. I want to ask them "If you didn't march or cheer for the IRA back in the day, why are you supporting Hamas?".

They would struggle to answer that one.

Gosh that was kind.

I’d have left them to arrange their own flights back and wait on hard airport chairs in a detained section until they went! I suppose there was a risk they might have live streamed themselves pretending they were being held hostage though, so the hotel was a better idea.
