1000 replies

cindyhove · 05/04/2025 14:19

As of April 5, 2025, numerous armed conflicts are ongoing worldwide, varying in scale and intensity. According to the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, over 110 armed conflicts are currently being monitored, encompassing both international and non-international engagements.
why is israel the only one to be demonised out of the current 110 conflicts?
The answer is blindingly obvious

I've no idea how they analyzed the situation and neither have you unless you were in the ambulance with them.

I expect they told lies about it because some people are liars. And truth of often a casualty of war.

I doubt very much there's any real investigation or any meaningful analysis of possible war crimes under Netanyahu's administration. I hope I'm wrong.

Anyone is of course free to analyze it how they wish. Forgive me if I don't give massive credence to us lot pontificating on mumsnet never having been part of an urban war situation.

Nicely sidestepped.

I literally answered in order every question directed at me.
If you'd like to ask me a question I'll answer it too.

Oh, that's OK then. The deliberate targeting of civillians by Israel? You seem to have ignored that.

In all your concern for the wellbeing of Palestinian civilians you seem to have overlooked their government openly stating they use them as human shields and bear no responsibility to keep them safe. How do you propose the world frees Palestinians from their genocidal government who are deliberately making martyrs of them? I mean you can criticise Israel rightly or wrongly all day long but they're not the only issue here. If Israel ended the war today Hamas would still remain, so what then?

Twiglets1 · 08/04/2025 16:46

Just look at the threads on this board - most of the them are pro Palestine not pro Israel.

There are more people posting that are anti Israel too.

Being pro-the warmongering Netanyahu doesn't make you pro Israel, it makes you pro genocide.

Not a single critic of Israel's slaughter in Gaza has supported Hamas, or taken Hamas' propaganda as the basis for their views. Not a single civilian Israeli casualty has had their death defended or explained away. Supporters of the genocide however, haven't offered up a single criticism of Israel's use of starvation, using human shields or the plausible genocide occurring on Gaza.

The original thread was started with the false claim that the media was biased against Israel. Quickly debunked, the thread descended into smears of antisemitism. When that didn't wash it became, it's all the fault of Hamas as if that justifies the slaughter. It's shameful.

You can support Israel while not liking their leader in the same way others side with Palestine not the Hamas leader whoever he is now.

I refer you to my post of 16:48.

It has not been determined that it is plausible a genocide is happening.

It has been determined that the Palestinians have a plausible right to be protected from genocide (which is a bit of a no brainer but still!).

Quite a big difference.

It would reduce a lot of side warring if people kept to actual facts rather than making unilateral decisions on what they want those facts to be.

I wasn't referring to South Africa's motion, but you've just proved my point.

I will freely admit I like Netanyahu. He is a very charismatic and genuine leader. Obviously a view shared by a lot of Israelis what with him being the longest serving Prime Minister in Israel’s history.

Having read about his background, and his brother, and watching videos of him speaking in what must be the toughest world leader position in the world, I have absolutely no shame in admitting that. Nor do I need to.

I also have never seen a Netanyahu supporter on here.

I have seen people saying Hamas are fighting for their country in the only way they know how. I've seen people comparing Israel to Nazis. I've seen trope after trope, Jews controlling the media etc etc.

I didn't realise how commonplace antisemitism was til I came on here.

There's lots of people who like Netanyahu. I'm not sure why people act all surprised or deny that anyone on mumsnet does. It's always something I have found rather baffling.

Just to add, judging by your posts, I am not surprised in the least that you admire Netanyahu. I'm pretty sure there's quite a few closet Ben Gvir fans on here too.

No-one has compared Israel to the Nazis. I’ve seen threads where posters ask how a race who suffered so appallingly at the hands of the Nazis can subject the Palestinians to this kind of oppression. That’s not the same thing, but it doesn’t stop it being condemned as anti semitism, as is pretty much any criticism of Israels’actions. And since the start of the war Israel have methodically destroyed the Palestinian territory's media infrastructure and stifled journalism.

He’s clinging on to power because he knows once he’s ousted the next stop is prison.

My great grandmother was Jewish, about a quarter of my extended family are. Your weaponisation of the term antisemitism does nothing to counter actual antisemitism it actually dilutes the cause.

Yep! Clinging onto power so he can continue to commit alleged genocide and other war crimes and end up in The Hague for life rather than a few years or a suspended sentence (if found guilty) in an Israeli prison.

Makes sense.

I don't need to 'research' his background, he's a wanted war criminal for crying out loud. He's also corrupt.
