cindyhove · 05/04/2025 14:19

As of April 5, 2025, numerous armed conflicts are ongoing worldwide, varying in scale and intensity. According to the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, over 110 armed conflicts are currently being monitored, encompassing both international and non-international engagements.
why is israel the only one to be demonised out of the current 110 conflicts?
The answer is blindingly obvious

“Casualties” - is that the word you normally use for murder and rape?

I thought the preferred term for that was 'collateral damage' or 'just war'? That's what it's called when Israel do it.

JandamiHash · 05/04/2025 21:13

Mylegishangingoff · 05/04/2025 21:12

I presume you aren't cool with the downplaying of Israels 'baby killing' by passing off premature babies being left to die in a hospital as 'just war'? They're still baby killers.

Maybe if Hamas wouldn’t use them as human shields they wouldn’t be killed. Or do you expect this to be the first perfect conflict where only the bad guys are hit?

So your answer is yes - if a loved one was raped and murdered would you say it was a “casualty”? Or do you only downplay it for Jews?

Is Sarah Everard a “casualty”?

This

It's a pity the don't stop settler terrorists from committing 4 violent attacks against Palestinians every day too. Instead the IDF help them along. It's strange how the morals can change depending on who is creating the terror.

The only terrorists are Hamas who want to annihilate the Jewish people. Who have the audacity to defend themselves as their threat hide behind women and children.

But if you wanna keep believing Hamas are the good guys, crack on. Let’s see what considerations they give YOU when the time comes

I'd say murdered. Like I say Palestinians are murdered. 15 aid workers were murdered in cold blood and then Israel lied to cover it up just a few days ago for instance. Premature babies were murdered by the IDF another example. Hamas murdered Israelis.

I've not seen pro Israel posters acknowledge the murder of Palestinians though. What do you think happened to the 15 aid workers murdered by Israel then dumped in a mass grave @JandamiHash

What do you think happened to the wee premature babies left to die by the IDF?

So how would you describe the settlers that set fire to villages and burn an infant alive in their home @JandamiHash

And I have never said that Hamas are the good guys. They aren't. Neither are the Israeli government and the IDF.

Tuttifrutticutiepie · 05/04/2025 21:20

The reason it's debated is because there are people willing to defend and endorse it. That's what is exceptional about Israel's actions, not the criticism.

I’ve already said that Israel have committed war crimes - it happens in literally every war. And like in every war criminals should be held accountable. It doesn’t take away from the fact that Israel MUST defend themselves and work to eradicate Hamas not only for the survival of the world’s Jews but for everyone. You think Hamas will stop at Jews? They won’t.

What do you think about Palestinians raping and murdering innocent Israeli civilians including women and children?

Murderers, of course. Even Netenyahu condemned the attack.

It doesn’t mean Israel shouldn’t defend itself against the demonstrably violent and evil group who threaten their very existence.

What do you think of what happened to the Bibas family? Of the behaviour of everyday Palestinians celebrating when their bodies were carried through the streets?

I think that anyone being raped and murdered whether they are Israeli or Palestinian is an absolute atrocity.

I could ask you your opinion on Israelis chanting and singing death to Arabs down the streets and sitting by and watching and defending villages being burnt to the ground but I won't. I don't believe in vilifying a whole population based on the actions of some. I would never defend Israeli apartments full of children being bombed because IDF murderers or settler murderers lived there. I would never defend hospitals being bombed because IDF murderers or settler murderers were there. I just don't believe in that kind of retribution.

Palestinians and Israelis have been murdered on both sides. Duh. It’s a war. The difference is Hamas could end it, but don’t. They’d rather murder babies instead.

Interesting how you use the word “murder” for Palestinians but used the word “casualty” for Jews Israelis

Hamas are a terrorist group. This is a widely recognised fact. Israel is a country, not a terrorist group. HTH.

I think it's partly because Israel is Western, so Europeans relate more than wars in civil wars in Africa, border disputes in Kashmir, breakdown of law and order in Haiti etc. It's partly why Nortern Ireland got so much international coverage.

Israel/Palestine is covered a lot by the media, as Isrsel is accessible, there are already lots journalists there, so much easier to cover than eg Yemen, Ugyars treatment in China. News organisations need to fill airspace, and it's easy to get news from Israel, as it's a democracy.

A lot of 'Islamic world' - Islamic majority states and Muslims in non-Islamic countries - focuses on the suffering of their co-religionists in Palestine (but interestingly not in Yemen, Somalia or Nigeria), and the global spread of Islam draws more attention to the issue - it's notable that many people on marches in the West are Muslim.

Then there's the hostage taking/war/Hamas/Netanyahu etc etc - but it's still a huge level of coverage compared to the Saudi assaults on Yemen, which the world is pretty much ignoring.

You know that Israeli is only 75% Jewish, right?

It’s also extremely antisemitic to compare the Holocaust to a war. I don’t recall Jewish people kidnapping and raping Nazis and holding hundreds hostage for a start.

I never said it could. I was talking about settler terrorist attacks. You seem to be getting very confused in your posts. Im off for the night anyway. Hope you feel better soon.

Hamas are an absolute disgrace. They could have stopped the killing of over 40000 Palestinians by releasing the hostages. The only people responsible for the deaths are Hamas. They use their people as human shields, intercept aid and take it for themselves, and really don’t give a shit about the people they pretend to represent. What did they expect the kidnapping, torture and rape of the Israelis to achieve? What was their end goal? I suspect the reason they’re not releasing the remaining hostages is because then they would be really exposed for the savages they are, and the last tiny bit of sympathy anyone had would disappear. I think a lot of the hostages will already be dead, I also think a lot will have horrific stories to tell of what happened to the them in captivity. If the Palestinians want to harbour these terrorists, then they reap what they sow….
