cindyhove · 05/04/2025 14:19

As of April 5, 2025, numerous armed conflicts are ongoing worldwide, varying in scale and intensity. According to the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, over 110 armed conflicts are currently being monitored, encompassing both international and non-international engagements.
why is israel the only one to be demonised out of the current 110 conflicts?
The answer is blindingly obvious

Well, Israel wasn't invaded by Palestinians, it was the victim of a terrorist attack by a terrorist group which was allowed to take root in Gaza.

The British have suffered at the hands of terrorist attacks from zionist terrorist groups. The threat of terror attacks by zionist groups across Europe was also very real. We didn't respond by flattening the region in a holy war/genocide against Jews. Which is absolutely what Netanyahu is doing to Palestinians in Gaza.

If you're concerned about naivety, I'd suggest there's nothing as naive as not being aware of the increasing weaponisation of the term antisemitism as a means of silencing criticism of Israel. It does nothing to make the lives of Jews outside Israel safer it simply operates as cover for a State that consistently operates outside of International law.

On 7th October Israel absolutely was invaded by Palestinians. The armed wing of Hamas, the government of Gaza, other armed Palestinian groups, and Palestinan civilians broke through the border fence in multiple places. They did this in order to kill and take hostage as many Israelis as possible.
If we were invaded in such a way yes I would fully expect our government to launch a war to end the perpetrators of that attack. I don't believe anyone would say otherwise?

You misspelt hostages. They’re prisoners of war. They’ve committed crimes against Israelis. They aren’t babies and toddlers like what Hamas kidnapped and strangled

On October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks resulted in the deaths of numerous Israeli civilians, including children. However, there is no verified evidence to confirm reports that babies were strangled during these attacks. Some initial claims, such as allegations of beheaded infants, were later found to be unsubstantiated. Investigations have documented other atrocities committed during the attacks, but specific claims regarding strangulation of babies have not been substantiated.

Why are so many people being killed and displaced in the West Bank?
There is no Hamas there. Where is the condemnation for the brutally of the settler violence?
It also has been going on for decades. Am I being anti- Semitic for mentioning this.

Here is one of the prisoners who has been held under Administrative Detention en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahed_Tamimi

Here's another, 17 years old held for 6 months without charge before dying.

Oh I'm sure a reason can be found. Or will be found once Gaza is dealt with. There's always a reason isn't there? Children throwing stones perhaps?

If you were Jewish the time would probably come where it was your only option.

David Baddiel - a smart, atheist Jewish man who experiences antisemitism daily - has an Israeli passport for this very reason.

What about them?

You asked,

"...why is israel the only one to be demonised out of the current 110 conflicts?"

I gave you an example of another country and leader also being demonised for their conduct in armed conflict as evidence that Israel was not "the only one".

But the world doesn’t seem to give a shit about the other conflicts

I am Jewish and I support the liberation of the Palestinian people, and their right to LIVE. Israel is carrying out a genocide and they do not represent me. Shame on you for trying to excuse their murderous actions. Shame on you for crying antisemitism while defending the indefensible.

I’m not interested what religion you follow. Of course we all have a right to live! But demonising one state out of the hundreds is totally out of the ordinary

That’s because for six months before Day 1, Jewish terrorist groups and militias had massacred entire villages of Palestinians resulting in over 250,000 Palestinians fleeing to those neighbouring countries as refugees. And when the Arab League ‘invaded’ they did not invade any land that the UN 1947 Partition had designated for the state of Israel. They attempted to defend those lands that the partition had set aside for the state of Palestine.

Which the Arabs refused to take. Jordan was theirs

The reduction of the number of Christians in Gaza and Palestine over the last 10-15 years is due to Israel's persecution of them. Palestinian Christians have to go through the same checkpoints as Muslims, etc. I know Christian Palestinians living in Beit Sahour (the town of the shepherds) who are unable to go to Jerusalem because they can't get permits. It is often easier for Christians to emigrate than Muslims, so they go. You can read Rev. Munther Isaac's sermon https://www.indcatholicnews.com/news/51360 for a Christian perspective

And to balance that do you know that Jews are usually not allowed on the Temple Mount? That’s in “Israel proper” but to keep the peace….

Why? How is that helpful to anyone?

I see all these organisation are lying then? They must be all anti-Semitic right?
Several organizations have reported that Israel is obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Notable among these are:
• ActionAid International: Highlighted that lifesaving food, medicine, medical supplies, fuel, and tents have been systematically blocked from entering Gaza for almost a year.
• Save the Children: Reported that 83% of required food aid does not make it into Gaza, leading to severe hunger and malnutrition among children.
• CARE International: Emphasized that the situation in Gaza is beyond catastrophic due to aid obstruction.
• Oxfam: As part of a coalition, called for an end to systematic aid obstruction in Gaza.
• Norwegian Refugee Council: Warned that blocking aid to Gaza would push its civilian population beyond collapse.

These organizations, among others, have collectively demanded international pressure for an immediate ceasefire, arms embargo, and an end to Israel’s systematic obstruction of aid to Gaza.

Pro-Israel supporters are ignorant and can’t be bothered to research basic facts: Discuss!

Calling pro Israel people ignorant and saying that e don’t read or understand facts is just pathetic. Why is your understanding better and “right”?

Palestinians have been burnt alive by Israel(I think we remember the teenager who was connected to an IV drip who was burnt alive when Israel decided to bomb another hospital) thats 'just war' though isn't it? It's funny how the same action can been seen so differently by some depending on which side of a wall you live.

cindyhove · 05/04/2025 21:11

TheWombatleague · 05/04/2025 20:10

Being treated in a hospital is not using civilians as a human shield. Sending an old man ahead when investigating a tunnel is.

You don't weaken support for terrorist groups by slaughtering women and children.

The difference is that hammas slaughter women and children deliberately and the IDF don’t specifically target them

I presume you aren't cool with the downplaying of Israels 'baby killing' by passing off premature babies being left to die in a hospital as 'just war'? They're still baby killers.

cindyhove · 05/04/2025 21:12

Sorkh · 05/04/2025 20:15

This, exactly. Individual soldiers in the British and US armies have committed war crimes but it isn't turned around into hatred of the armies/ countries as a whole. I know a lot of people who are either in the IDF or have been in the past and they are all good people who certainly aren't committing " genocide". It is so easy to see how the holocaust happened now, looking at people's responses to Israel defending it's citizens. If Islamist terrorist organisations can get seemingly left wing British housewives and students(!) to sympathise with them then I can also see how regular seeming German people supported the Nazis. What is it about being Jewish that people hate so much?

The only genocide that may happen is the one that would if Israel laid down it's arms. It's surrounded by Muslim states with different terrorist groups funded by Iran. What would you have them do? They can't continue with this threat on their border. The border securities before October 7th were there because Palestinians keep blowing themselves up/ stabbing people/ other terrorist act etc..not because Israel wanted to " blockade" Gaza. There is a reason why there were strict controls.
