Did anyone see this last night? Heartbreaking and enraging in equal measure.

There aren't many Christian churches in Gaza but there are plenty on the West Bank and none have been bombed AFAIK.

The oldest church was bombed, unfortunately. A peice of real history, gone forever.

Really!
your responce is
‘sigh’ !!!
to the news of destruction and bodies of the dead on the ground!

SIGH !!

DelaneysOnTheWineAgain · 24/02/2025 15:18

No
Thats war crimes !

@DelaneysOnTheWineAgain was responding to LetThereBeLove’s response
to this part of the thread:

^Everexpanding · Today 14:00
What do you deem the actions of Israel in targeting civilians, sniping of children, to be ?^

^LetThereBeLove · Today 15:15
War, not terrorism.^
…………………………

@DelaneysOnTheWineAgain
No.
That’s war crimes.

Yes I agree Delaney. What’s more even the more moral members of the IDF recognise this:

New IDF Chief Needs to Stop Israel's Army From Becoming 'God's Revenge Forces'
As one battalion commander says about the Gaza war, 'If a child or an old man enters a forbidden area and isn't directly endangering you, morally you're not allowed to shoot them. Here the IDF needs a very large correction'
Haaretz (Israeli newspaper)

…………..

For proof of the IDF sniping children ( aimed shots, pulling the trigger) check out the 45 doctors who had volunteered in Gaza and wrote to The White House about what they had seen:

“Every single signatory to this letter treated children in Gaza who suffered violence that must have been deliberately directed at them. Specifically, every one of us on a daily basis treated pre-teen children who were shot in the head.”
https://www.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/jul/25/israel-gaza-war-biden-letter

Letter from 30 doctors who had volunteered in Gaza to Keir Starmer:

^All of us treated children who seemed to have been deliberately targeted by military violence.
Bullet wounds to children's heads and torsos^

(See ICJ Palestine where the letter from the 30 doctors can be downloaded.
Or, it is also published in Jewish voice for Labour:
www.jewishvoiceforlabour.org.uk/article/us-and-uk-doctors-who-have-been-in-gaza-call-out-their-governments/)

You well know that the 'sigh' was in response to number of Christian churches in Palestine.

Again, I clarified this a number of times. Yes I stated it had been debunked l, then referenced these claims in the article that was later found to be discredited in the New York Times, as that was the link I made, and indeed this was the most damaging peice of misinformation that has propelled the Oct 7 narrative.

And instead of actually putting forward credible sources on a thread about credible sources, you've all floundered about like wet seals.

A number of posters have asked for credible sources, but none are forth coming. Perhaps you can correct this?

You said my entirely accurate post had been debunked, which is hasn’t. You have not apologised for suggesting October 7th did not involve rape, torture and murder but instead have wittered on about some claims that were not made on this thread and pretended that it is everyone else’s fault for responding in the entirely reasonable manner that they did to your horrendous post.

It was nothing about source credibility, it was entirely your balls-up to claim that rape, murder and torture on October 7th had been debunked. Own it.

Your reaction was to this post ( attached )
with the link
of a church destroyed and dead bodies

I do not ‘well know’ anything other than the running post you were responding to and the immediate response of a sigh after the link of dead Palestinians was posted.
I posted due to shock at such a reaction.

You're all sitting here so enraged about me apparently 'denying' Oct 7 whilst in the same breath denying a genocide. So ironic.

I've clarified. I have nothing to apologise for. You want to be a broken record then by all means knock yourself out

How do you think Israel should have responded to the 7th October attacks?

You're not turning out to be a very reliable source are you?

How do you think Israel should have responded to the 7th October attacks?

Not with a genocide, what do you think their actions have achieved? Peace? They have just done massive damage to what little reputation the Israeli state had, they have repeatedly characterised opposition to their genocide as antisemitism, thereby undermining the definition of real antisemitism and the fight against it, by conflating Jewishness with Zionism they have put all Jews in danger, they have created new generations of the traumatised and orphaned who will have every right to despise the Israeli state so not a resounding success I would say

Anything but genocide.

Israel claims to have the most advanced military tech in the world yet somehow managed to stuff up what should have been for them a simple locate and retrieve operation.

Nothing jutifies genocide. Nothing.

And by repeatedly breaching the Geneva Convention without being properly sanctioned, by their use of drones and Ai targeting, by bombing hospitals and targeting civilians they have changed the norms of war and opened the door to more hideous events which may affect us all

But that's not an answer to the question you were asked.

No.

There’s a surprise! Perhaps you think the abducted hostages gave off magic fumes that could be traced, or something like that? I can’t think what other "simple locate and retrieve operation" you could have in mind, for hundreds of kidnapped people held either in tunnels or among civilians. Please do tell us.

Everexpanding · 24/02/2025 21:26

I think it is, I said they shouldn’t have responded with genocide. I don’t think their actions have made them safer the exact opposite in fact.

Agree, Netanyahu had brought shame on the state of Israel

Thank you @Everexpanding that's a thought provoking answer. It's so sad.
