ByLilacMember 3 fed Israelis? Give your head a wobble! They are seriously ill nourished and by the dead look in their eyes have been tortured. This thread is about the Israeli hostages but you seem to think they've been on a holiday. Go start your own thread.

Right from the start of this conflict there were people tearing down hostage posters and refusing, on the weekly marches for Palestine , to call upon Hamas to release the hostages .

There are elements of that mentality on this thread ( constant deflection)

Kendodd · 08/02/2025 17:00

I think a lot of posters have misinterpreted my 'at least they're not dead' comment. I really did mean, at least they're not dead, as they so easily could be and many are.
And as for my 'red haired women and her two babies' comment, I didn't know their names, I only have their images in my head, admittedly I could have very easily googled their names. Neither comment was meant to be offensive.

Understood.
It’s just that the torment of the Bibas family has torn many many hearts .

This is another unbelievable comment. Really shocking. You're suggesting convicted murderers are more victims than innocent children taken hostage. I cannot believe what I'm reading here. I think I'll have to stop. I honestly can't believe what I'm hearing.

They're not convicted murderers though, read it again

'you're looking at the wrong victims' so the spilled blood of Israeli civilians is insignificant compared to Palestinians. Your hatred of Jews is noted ByLilacMember. By the way if your trying to bolster up support for Palestinians your doing a shit job.

Eighty terrorist murderers were released by Israel on 27 January 2025 alone. Free to carry on murdering Israeli citizens. This is the bargain Israel has to agree to for the release of the hostages in dribs and drabs.

Would you have an appetite if you were being held hostage in a war zone, had witnessed friends and family be killed and had no idea of the fate of others? It’s not surprising they don’t look healthy and well, they will be deeply traumatised and will have been sick with anxiety every day they were held in Gaza. Plus we know there have been food shortages in Gaza, people have been literally dying of malnutrition. Different areas of Gaza have been affected by the food shortages differently, some areas have had better food supplies than others. The terrorists filmed releasing the hostages were probably not the ones holding them for the last 16 months, if you look on social media you can find plenty of footage of emaciated Palestinians.

I’m not justifying the images of the hostages or saying they haven’t been starved/ tortured, we just don’t know yet and it’s reasonable to think the people who held them captive didn’t treat them well, but equally you can’t compare them with the terrorists hamas chose to be the face of the handover with the hostages and say that because these terrorists look well and the hostages don’t food and morale must be plentiful in Gaza and the only reason the hostages haven’t been laying into feasts every night is because their fat captives have withheld it from them whilst enjoying it themselves.

I did not say that and well you know it. Eighty terrorist murderers were released that day as well as other prisoners in exchange for a handful of hostages. Is that clear enough for you?
Stop being so goady. It's not a good look.

I think it's pretty shit the red cross suggest the next ones are to be held In private.
Covering up the crimes of hamas!

Why are you telling @MissyB1 this? There was an exchange of people and frankly neither group seem to have been treated well. Is your position that one group deserved mistreatment and the other didn't? It's an argument, but if you care about moral standards it's untenable. I've not noticed missy saying anything much different to this and it is relevant to the topic.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 08/02/2025 17:33

Havent RTFT but have the gist from some posters…
I couldn’t see the article, @LetThereBeLove and in a cowardly way I’m glad. I’ve found it horrifying and terrifying seeing the hostages being paraded around by masked, gun-toting terrorists.
Thinking about the Bibas family makes me weep and the young woman with blood on the seat of her trousers 😢

This is a horrible post, and why have you put "prisoners" in inverted commas? They were prisoners, most of them convicted, some not but none of them were there for doing nothing. And a lot of them commited heinous crimes...why anybody (apart from terrorists and their supporters) would be glad some of these people are being released is beyond me. The Gazans who do not support Hamas will not benefit in any way from having these people among them. I see also 2 prisoners today refused release, preferring to stay in Israeli prison than return to Gaza.

You don't get to dictate who posts on the thread. And telling the truth is not offensive or derailing. And pointing out that Palestinians have been starving is not hating Jews 🙄 don't make silly unfounded accusations.

Liv999 · 08/02/2025 17:35

@LetThereBeLove It was a simple question, you mentioned a while back that you doubted any Palestinian was starving so it's hard to know if you're in denial or just being goady yourself

OpheliaWasntMad · 08/02/2025 17:38

It’s not the right thread. Your posts appear to minimise and deflect from the discussion about the hostages.

Hazel665 · 08/02/2025 17:38

dairydebris · 08/02/2025 11:16

Omg. Did you just actually suggest it's Israel's fault the hostages are emaciated? Standing next to extremely well nourished terrorists? Fuck me. I'm actually astounded. Shame.

Quite. Victim blaming in the extreme. Those hamas terrorists look like the isis lot used to. Vile.

stomachamelon · 08/02/2025 17:40

Some of the posts on here are disgusting. I have reported both on and off here.

I have also just watched the footage of Hamas tormenting Eli when he asks for his wife and children (murdered) and a cheering crowd whilst they then fell him they murdered his brother.

I have yet to see anything resembling that leaving an Israeli prison. Only stories that Egypt won't let the animals caged there leave.

Roll on next steps.

stomachamelon · 08/02/2025 17:44

@Halbiiamz that's odd isn't it. You would think with the 'sexual abuse' 'starvation' and 'forgetting their own names' that they would be desperate to leave.

Very strange.

Awaits the 'saviour charge' deflecting this and saying they are clearly doing good work with their brethren whilst inside prison. With no charge.

Ilovemytulips · 08/02/2025 17:45

Where does it say that two prisoners refused to leave today? I read previously one prisoner said to exchange with someone else as his sentence was coming to an end soon so would rather someone else leave.
