does that mean that the poster you’re mentioning supports Hamas? Because I don’t understand it like that.

I think mumsnet might disagree as it's been deleted again.

I'm not dignifying anything said in support of Hamas with an argument. I wish mumsnet could let it stand so everyone could see.

There were some hostages who were not starved though. Whilst I will call out Israel for blocking aid at times it's clear these three innocent men were starved. Perhaps they were kept by PIJ who are known to be more severe in their handling of hostages. They were also kept in terrible conditions which can't be denied.

Haven’t all the hostages said they were not given adequate food but were fattened up before they were released.

LetThereBeLove · 10/02/2025 13:38

They didn't look like this that makes it ok? So far we don't know exactly how the female hostages were treated but based on what happened on 7 October (filmed on their own body and!) I don't think it's hard to guess exactly how these women were 'treated' while in captivity.

They have said they were given more food on the run up to being released.

They don't look like they were fattened up at all. After being starved for 15 months their bodies probably couldn't take the extra food rations anyway.

Hamas have now said they will indefinitely delay the release of the hostages expected this weekend, obviously, they say, because of Israel but this comes on the same day that it was reported that Sasha Troponov isn’t fit to be released.

They don’t look like they were fattened up, no, which just shows what a state they must have been in prior to release.

The absolute worst news. My heart is absolutely breaking for these families.

jeffgoldblum · 10/02/2025 17:26

Has Israel already released all the exchange prisoners?

Doubtful.

Oh no why are they doing that?

Because they are bastards and are using psychological warfare. I can't imagine how the hostage families are feeling.

I think they are in a panic about Trump.

Not because they care about their people.

I think they are in a panic about losing their base, if this bat shit displacement happens.

F'ing Trump could he not have kept his lip buttoned for a few more weeks?

💔💔💔💔

This statement from Hamas was published on the news.

Over the past three weeks, the leadership of the resistance has monitored the enemy’s violations and its failure to comply with the terms of the agreement.
"These violations include delaying the return of displaced persons to northern Gaza, targeting them with shelling and gunfire in various areas of the Strip, and failing to allow the entry of humanitarian aid in all its agreed-upon forms.
"Meanwhile, the resistance has fully honoured its commitments.
"Accordingly, the release of the Zionist prisoners, which was scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2025, will be postponed until further notice, pending the enemy’s compliance and the retroactive fulfillment of the past weeks’ obligations.
"We reaffirm our commitment to the terms of the agreement as long as the occupation adheres to them."

Shall I ask MN to delete? I don't want to be accused of derailing. If there's another thread on this then I can post on there.

jeffgoldblum · 10/02/2025 17:52

@LetThereBeLove , I was curious because call me suspicious but if Israel have already released thier prisoners then hamas can withhold the hostages without losing theirs?

PinkTonic · 10/02/2025 17:54

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 08/02/2025 10:58

What do you expect? Israel won't allow food into Gaza and everyone has been starving. The navel gazing is astounding.

The Hamas fighters all looked pretty well fed

I'm pretty sure there are still plenty of prisoners awaiting release from Israeli jails. See ILoveMyTulips post just now it gives the Hamas statement.

@Ilovemytulips Also this is on the G, let's hope the ceasefire can get backon track:
A group representing hostage families called on mediators of the ceasefire to stop the deal from breaking down, while another group representing Israel military veterans accused the government of intentional sabotaging the ceasefire agreement.

I'm guessing this in direct response to Trump and nothing to do with what Israel has or has not done.😡

I don't know about their accusation regarding aid as i read elsewhere they have said not enough tents have been allowed in. I do know that Palestinians have been shot at and killed after the ceasefire in Gaza including today. The IDF have said they fired at them because they were near their positions. The Palestinians are saying they were just trying to reach their home and were in areas they were allowed to be.

ArtTheClown · 10/02/2025 18:30

I've seen some footage of Palestinians in Gaza approaching really close to the border fence. There were no buildings between them and the fence so not sure why they were approaching. I understand they were shot, I suppose after the October 7 attacks the IDF isn't going to let anyone near the border.

ArtTheClown · 10/02/2025 19:03

Re Hamas cancelling the rest of the hostage releases - well, they thrive on PR. The latest optics have been really poor for them, and are only going to get worse as they hand over living hostages in even poorer condition, and body bags. So this is damage control for their image.

Yes, you wouldn't want them anywhere near the border.

I imagine even when they (or if they ever finally) hand over the dead bodies of murdered hostages, there will be people making excuses for Hamas.

They have a brilliant PR machine although watching them strut about recently before their chanting, cheering supporters, may have made some of the useful idiots possibly question all of their claims (although some appear so brainwashed, I doubt it). Watching them parade starved hostages (whilst they are pretty fat), making them clutch certification for being a hostage, and listen to the crowds cheer as they speak of their dead relatives, it might make a few question how honest they actually are? 🙄

ArtTheClown · 10/02/2025 19:15

@Atangledweb they'll just say Israel bombed or starved them. People already believe that.
