One of the murdered hostages was from Bristol!!
What had she and her poor slaughtered daughters done to deserve this?
Shocking that people are trying to defend terrorists!
The hostages that hamas took on October 7th , half of them were not even from Israel!
How can anyone use whataboutery when these people were murdered, tortured and taken hostage.

We must be in different threads … or using our biased opinion as I can’t see anyone supporting Hamas and their atrocities and everyone agreeing these men should have never been taken hostage

Indeed

Thanks. That's my feeling too.

@LetThereBeLove , I must add , that I don't believe the Israeli hostages deserve it either!
But on this forum I would think those posters who are saying but .. the Palestinian people are suffering too , would at least have some compassion for hostages who are not from Israel, we're not involved in the history or political struggles and we're simply attending a festival!

Can you only have compassion for citizens from one country? Can’t you have for citizens of more than one country?

This thread is about the horrific emaciated condition of the hostages ( in stark contrast to the well fed Hamas supporters)

I don't believe one poster has said they don't have compassion for the hostages? Posters have been accused of being Hamas supporters though with no evidence whatsoever, pretty disgusting talk

Of course I have compassion for citizens of more than one country. Just not terrorists, in this case Hamas, or their followers.

There have been posters who have had their posts removed for their obvious bias towards terrorism on this thread. I am not going to shame and name them.

You'd think so wouldn't you but it's been derailed so often you might believe otherwise.

There were some hostages who were not starved though. Whilst I will call out Israel for blocking aid at times it's clear these three innocent men were starved. Perhaps they were kept by PIJ who are known to be more severe in their handling of hostages. They were also kept in terrible conditions which can't be denied.

Name and shame them all you want, still not a single shred of evidence anyone on here supports terrorism, there have also been posts removed for their obvious bias towards Israeli war crimes, maybe name and shame them while you're at it

Ilovemytulips · 10/02/2025 13:06

For example the female soldiers who were released, whilst they also suffered, didn't look like this.

OwlInTheOak · 10/02/2025 11:43

Some Palestinian people, the ones not beneficial to hamas. But there's a difference between them hoarding resources so there's not enough for the population who isn't useful to them, and actively starving someone until they are emaciated.
Luckily the Palestinians in Israeli custody aren't emaciated.

That's actually not true.
e.g. Palestinian prisoners show frailty and abuse, like Israeli hostages
I don't see why the appalling treatment and abuse of the Israeli hostages can't be acknowledged and condemned without negating the suffering of others, many of whom are innocent.

Ha. I just did. Hope everyone sees it

jeffgoldblum · 10/02/2025 13:27

Perhaps people who want to discuss the Palestine prisoner who were released start their own thread instead of derailing this one with whataboutery.

They didn't look like this that makes it ok? So far we don't know exactly how the female hostages were treated but based on what happened on 7 October (filmed on their own body and!) I don't think it's hard to guess exactly how these women were 'treated' while in captivity.

does that mean that the poster you’re mentioning supports Hamas? Because I don’t understand it like that.

For example the female soldiers who were released, whilst they also suffered, didn't look like this.

Naama Levy, Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Agam Berger and Liri Albag were held hostage by a senior member of Hamas’s military wing. I believe Naama was held the longest in solitary confinement. They were held in tunnels without light, food, water and sanitation for weeks and then moved to apartments and enslaved, cooking, cleaning and caring for children. Food and showers were offered as a form of manipulation to ensure they would remain compliant and do as they were told. Those five beautiful girls survived separation from one another; they weren't allowed to comfort one another or cry. They lived in pain due to the injuries sustained at the time of their abduction. They were in complete and utter distress, misery, and discomfort for 15 months, never knowing from one day to the next if they would be executed as they had witnessed occur to their friends on the 7th of October. Whilst it seems Hamas didn't try to starve them to death, they endured psychological torture, which will result in long-term psychological effects for the rest of their lives.

You misunderstood me, I was trying to make the point that the three male hostages did look like they were deliberately starved in comparison to the other hostages who have been released so far. That's not to say they were treated well.

Ilovemytulips · 10/02/2025 13:44

I am not denying or arguing this. It was a comment linked to my previous post before to show that the male hostages in comparison did look like they had been starved.

No it doesn't make it ok. Where did I say it does?

@EasterIssland thank you, of course it wasn't meant in that context, @dairydebris has absolutely no evidence of anything, unfortunately if you dare call out war crimes by Israel you're a Hamas supporter, I'm pretty used of it to be honest, sad but that's the mentality of some
