I’m not sure that it’s true that Muslims “matter less” in terms of condemnation of suffering.
Christchurch mosque bombings were widely condemned.
There are worldwide weekly marches/ student activism / boycotts etc for Palestine ( I’ve never seen anything similar for any other oppressed group)
I do however agree with your last paragraph.

Having read a bit about it I think the police in Amsterdam massively messed up. The night before the match Israeli fans were in the streets singing racist chants. Why was it not dealt with from the off with a zero tolerance policy? Everyone involved should have been rounded up and sent back to the airport with the message being sent that racism will not be tolerated. Instead multiple incidences were allowed to happen with what appears to be zero intervention from the police giving the message that actually anything goes and the police won't protect people from racism.

Yes, I think they did. It seems there was a plan to place lots of Palestinian flags as that will " attract them"...so basically baiting Jews..and football fans aren't generally the more thinking members of society ( generalising, obvs!)

This is rubbish and also insulting on a basic intellectual level. So you think the flags were put up to draw in Maccabi fans with the expectation that they would pull them down/deface them which would then lead to them being attacked? Even as far as conspiracy theories goes, this one is stupid.

On second thoughts the Maccabi fans do look incredibly stupid with extremely low IQ and dangerously violent so you may have a point.

I've also seen that the flags were planted, there are screenshots of texts floating about on X. It's hardly far-fetched.

Football hooligans are indeed twats. But not every supporter who was set upon was a football hooligan.

There is a local photographer who has reported Israeli football supporters were beating up local people. Some accounts are using their video to report the opposite (Dutch attacking Israeli).

I can't see anyone protesting against the chants at the airport. There's alot of laughing and clapping along.

How sadistic and cruel to mock schools out in Gaza because the IDF have murdered the children.

Also mocking thousands of dead children with such glee isn't football hooliganism anymore than the attacks that took place in Amsterdam.

Have you actually seen Amsterdam? There's many areas that have Palestinian flags taking something so ridiculous because you saw it on X that they were planted there to lure the low IQ Maccabi fans to deface them would certainly raise eyebrows.

Maybe the genocide deniers should see this too. Here we have Israelis openly celebrating the deaths of thousands of Gazan children. It's no secret, there's no shame. It's done out in the open with on lookers laughing along.

I just remembered that when I went to Amsterdam in 2022 there was a demo in Dam sq. just checked whether I had any pics from it and bingo I had a video of the demo. It was people supporting Palestine. Support for Palestine is nothing new , in the last year I’ve seen support in Finland , Thailand and Spain for Palestine. So flags aren’t actually planted as you say because maccabi supporters are visiting a city.

They didn’t even respect the minute silence of people that have died in Spain (this wasn’t respected either by one of their players). I hope they don’t play against any Spanish team because I don’t believe the hooligans will be welcome

I don't know why they didn't condone chants. Perhaps the anti semitic attacks were planned, coordinated attacks that were going to happen regardless of anything else than evening. There were men on scooters coordinated to attack Jewish people. Asking who were Jews first then attacking.

Thankfully they knew what it was and called it what it was. Thank goodness people on these mn threads aren't in charge, it would be minimised, denied and swept up the carpet. I'd rather listen to them than you.

That doesn’t justify this level of violence or any physical violence. Also I seriously doubt these pro Palestine mobs made sure they only attacked Jews who were involved in any of that (still wrong). No!!! They attacked every Jew they could find. I am sure most of them had done nothing. They are anti semitic racist thugs who attacked them simply because they are Jews and those with dual nationality should be deported! We have had pro Palestine marches weekly in the uk calling for violence against Jews, some took to the streets to celebrate October 7th. The Jews are blamed for everything, even when they are attacked. It’s a very concerning time for Europe.

That’s one of the sickest things I’ve ever read. Adults celebrating the death of children. (As were the Hamas terrorists who killed children on 7th October).

The maccabi hooligans also attacked a taxi driver the night before and attacked another person last night.
