Jewish babies were burned alive on October 7th. Several are still being held hostage. You'll condemn that absolutely now, I'm sure?

Who wouldn't? If you cannot condemn both, ask yourself why.

Zebrashavestripes · 17/10/2024 14:27

Awful. But why is there even a video of this?

To document the genocide being carried out by Israel

Evidence of war crimes there are no independent journalists to report

Because the world needs to know that these atrocities are being committed and to bear witness to the unbearable suffering of the Palestinians.

I do now and always have.
It in no way justifies and/or excuses the murder of innocent women and children in Gaza
Its about revenge and genocide now for Israel

The sooner Hamas release the hostages, surrender their leaders, and admit the right of Israel to exist, the sooner this awful bloodshed can stop. How many dead civilians is enough for Hamas?

iloveeverykindofcat · 17/10/2024 14:34

I actually wish MN hadn't deleted that post. Because now people see the reality. This is the mindset that stands behind genocide, and also slavery. They don't see Palestinians as people. No, I do not mean all Israelis. I mean the ones perpetuating and supporting this.

They don't need to 'be educated'. They know. They know Palestinians are being burned alive in hospitals. They know Palestinian children are eating grass. They don't care, because they don't see Palestinians as human persons.

Yes, this is important, but was anyone helping him?

I'm not sure that videos like this should be shared with the world. It's quite undignified, don't you think? Or perhaps people think that in these cases the public interest overrides the right to privacy?

You need to watch his father's testimony @Zebrashavestripes

There is no limit to number of dead civilians that either Hamas or Israel feel is acceptable.

Netanyahu has repeatedly said that the release of the hostages wouldn't stop the war. I don't know how often this needs to be mentioned.

Netanyahu made it crystal clear Israel is not getting out of Gaza even if all the surviving hostages are released (goodness knows how many have died in the bombing). This slaughter was never about the hostages, Netanyahu doesn't give a shiny shit about them, which is why so many of their poor families are so angry with him and protest outside his official residence.

The only people who can stop this are the Israeli Government, but they show no signs of wanting to.

I think he was beyond help and people would have been in shock too, witnessing this. Surviving this level of burns in an environment where hospitals have mostly destroyed, where meds, water and food are very sparse would be near zero. It would have been a long and extremely painful death.
Undignified? No, this is not the first word that came to my mind when I watched it. Horrific, horrendous, beyond belief, horrifying are the ones that did.
Right to privacy? Sorry but you lost me there.

Not just the hostages. The other two bits aswell. Surrendering their leaders, admitting the right of Israel to exist, those bits. Quite important.
It amazes me that all I see on here is people calling for Israel to lay down arms, not for Hamas to release hostages, surrender leaders, and give up on their idealogy of the right to all the land From The River To The Sea. And yes, I do believe if Hamas were to do that, the war would end.
Then we could really see if something couldn't be worked out so that this awful cycle doesn't repeat again, and again.

surrender leaders, and give up on their idealogy of the right to all the land From The River To The Sea
Majority posting here do not support Hamas or their leaders and have never questioned Israels right to exist.

I don't share your optimism. Nothing of what Netanyahu has said indicates that whatsoever

Unfortunately this poor person is probably better dead now rather than suffering unimaginable agony due to not being able to access proper medical help.
Burns are difficult to treat short and long term even in a place that is not under constant attack
My thoughts and prayers are with him, his family and all other innocents in Gaza

Absolutely. But can you not comprehend that the killing of innocent civilains, in any country whatsoever, is barbaric and can never be justified? It's appalling and horrifying whoever does it.

There is a difference between asking for Israel to lay down arms and asking Israel to act within the rules of international laws, laws they agreed to uphold.
Both Hamas and the Israeli government have used "from the river to the sea", both need to give up on their ideology.

It’s undignified the way the Israelis are treating the Palestinians. Invading their land and killing, raping, cutting off their supplies. That’s undignified.

Israel has lost. It is a brutal dictatorship under the guise of “democracy”.

Israel shot its own people. Remember the hostages who were shot point blank by IDF? They were topless and holding white flags.

It’s scary to think how the dictatorship doesn’t spare its own people. Shooting people point blank as if they’re prey. Absolute animals.

I'm talking only of the 3 conditions of mine together.
And yes, of course I understand most if not all posters believe in Israel's right to exist, and of course absolutely do not support Hamas.
Nonetheless, I do not see relentless calls for Hamas ( not posters on here )to release hostages in tandem with surrendering and admitting Israel's right to exist.

If you truly don't believe those 3 things together wouldn't end the war, then what do you think Israel wants, if not that? Perpetual war? Every last Palestinian dead? What would- in your opinion- stop the war?

@Zebrashavestripes "Yes, this is important, but was anyone helping him? "

I saw a video of Shabaans father speaking about what happened. He didn't know who he should save first. The blast threw him leaving him with injury on his arm only. Speaking about who he should save, he saw that Shabaans arm was up and assumed he was awake and as he is older he could get himself out. So he started with his kids that were younger and sleeping. He managed to pull out his daughter and son. His wife was engulfed in flames and when he went to Shabaan he was already engulfed in flames too and he couldn't get to him. It all happened so fast. Imagine the having to make those choices about which member of your family to save first. It doesn't bear thinking about let a lone judging them and saying couldn't someone help him. If they could they would have. It was painful to listen to.
