I see you're doubling down on your anti-Semitism. Interesting strategy.

Did you know the al-Aqsa mosque is built on the site of two former Jewish temples? The implication being that Jews are, in fact, indigenous to the area and therefore not colonisers. Did you know there is a synagogue in Gaza that is a few hundred years old? Because Jewish people are indigenous to the area.

Please stop with your racist rhetoric, it's very much not helping to further your cause.

Just to be clear - I'm not suggesting Jewish people should reclaim Gaza. I'm just pointing out the obvious flaws in this person's thinking.

It's not antisemitism, it's just ignorance. The conflict is about power, land and resources, just like most others in the world. Judaism and Islam have been dragged into it because those are the faiths of the protagonists.

No.

That's not right.

It is a religious war.

It is.

What alternative does Israel have when more than 8000 rockets have been fired by Hezbollah into Israel since October 7. There are more than 60000 families displaced within Israel from the North who are unable to return to their homes. Do they also not deserve the right to live in peace and safety. What about the Druze children who were murdered by a Hezbollah rocket from Lebanon running to the bomb shelter whilst innocently playing football.

Why do they not the right to defend themselves against a terrorist organisation who have hundreds of kilometres of tunnels extending into Israeli territory.

I feel very sorry for all the innocents caught up in this war but there needs to be balance. Hezbollah are not Lebanese. They do not represent the Lebanese people. They should not be in Lebanon.

Chrishelle · 01/10/2024 17:20

Israel has every right to defend its land and people. As always in war, there will be innocents killed. Terrorists need to be destroyed, so that peace loving people can get on with their lives.

Please let's not go down the route of criticising someone's religion. It's really unhelpful and unfair.

Lalaloveya · 01/10/2024 17:25

The inferences here that Israel has been sitting twiddling its thumbs while Hezbollah attacked it is wild. The omissions from posters on this side of the argument never cease to amaze me.

Like when 3 hostages were rescued and over 200 people (iirc) were killed in the operation and posters told people to leave the thread when they mentioned that. Wild.

It'll be a bit hard for them to just 'get on with their lives' when their vital infrastructure, homes, schools, work, places of worship, medical centres are all rubble. It's easy to say war is over time to get on with your life when your life isn't destroyed.

Good job that's not a thing.

Do you think that Israel's actions are wrong?

Do you think Israel should sit back and shrug it's shoulders?

WatTyler · 01/10/2024 11:15

God help the innocents being deliberately used as human shields by the murderous Islamist gangsters of Hezbollah. Many will die.
Hamas is very nearly wiped out; Hezbollah is next. The Israelis have struck two mighty blows against them, with the booby trapped pagers and the killing of Nasrallah, and they are only just getting going.
Finally, the West will have to confront and destroy Iran. Then the Middle East can have peace.

"Then the Middle East can have peace."

Oh, please. You haven't a fucking clue.

Yes, it's wrong to invade a sovereign country and ignore international law. It's wrong to commit war crimes and kill tens of thousands of people. I'm surprised this needs explaining.

Gloriana1 · 01/10/2024 17:36

@Lalaloveya, have you seen the 7/10 film?

Have you seen the brutality from Hamas?

Ezekiela · 01/10/2024 17:37

SillySally12 · 01/10/2024 11:27

This is not wiping out terrorists, it’s creating more. Lunacy and mass murder!

I saw an interview with a man who had had to pull relatives' bodies out of the rubble of one of the bombed buildings in Beirut. He said he had never supported Hezbollah and the rocket attacks on Israel but now he does. It's radicalising a whole new generation.

Mebbe he should look at Hamas not Israel.

Hamas wanted this. They did.

mouthpipette · 01/10/2024 17:42

"What alternative does Israel have when more than 8000 rockets have been fired by Hezbollah into Israel since October 7." @gingergranand @StupidFarang

Please tell me from where you get this figure of 8000 Hezbollah rockets being launched in the last year. It's on a single BBC site, but that was probably taken from Danny Danon speaking at the UN, when he mentioned 8000, without stipulating whence they came. Remember Hamas have been firing barrages for the past 11 months. For most of this year, there were, on a number of occasions, reports from Northern Israel describing tit for tat and carefully measured and LIMITED exchanges between Israeli artillery posts and Hezbollah positions. A few rockets were initially targeted at Kibbutzim in the early stages of the conflict forcing evacuation from northern Israel, but since then it's been measured. So, source for the 8000 from Hezbollah please.
I would have imagined that had Israel been subject to such an onslaught it would have got reporters to the targets and our screens would have been full. With the exception of the Druze children, I have seen little, but I'm prepared to be corrected. Thank you.

Hezbollah/Hamas.

Whatever.

You believe that?

A man does not suddenly become radicalised that way.

The diplomatic corps must have been a much poorer place after you left.

Western hypocrisy on full display here, Israel has just invaded a sovereign nation and nobody bats an eyelid.

😂😂

It's been headline news!
