You should probably try getting your information from somewhere other than Twitter. Did Twitter also tell you the optimum number of times for insisting it's probably mostly innocent civilians who were killed and injured by totally evil Israel in a totally evil randomised attack on all the pagers in Lebanon in order to to embed that as the dominant narrative?

Honestly! It is the 21st century and you can buy smart phones in Lebanon so I seriously doubt that there are large numbers of Lebanese civilians wandering round with pagers in their pockets.
If, however, you are a member of a terrorist organisation worried about surveillance, you might well have one.

I don’t find this impressive, I find it disturbing. There would be no way of knowing exactly where each pager ended up. The only thing that they could surely calculate when this was planned, was their disregard for human life.

ok just think for a minute. You procure tools for your army. You issue a specific model to your army, you most likely have a record of what was issued to who. If any of these models end up with the general population it’s because someones got sticky fingers. But who the fuck in the general population is going to be buying a pager? Have you ever thought “hmmm iphone 13 or a pager…. I’ll go with the pager” no? Yeah thats right no-one wants a pager.

Yes doctors and nurses use them, but likewise these will be issued by their employer.

The batch bought by Hezbollah will be given to hezbollah, no-one else wants them, doctors don’t need to buy a pager off hezbollah because they have one from work (unless they are actually hezbollah members in which case they probably have 2 pagers).

Again, if you have seen any of the footage of the explosions you will see why people are saying it is unlikely there is a mass civilian casualty event. The explosion is literally next to the body. These are not big bombs, they are tiny, you can see how they would do damage if it was in your pocket but if you were just standing next to a person who’s pager exploded you would most likely be unharmed. The fact that the vast majority of these explosions did not actually outright kill their targets should provide a clue as to how powerful the blast was.

And I would think that now is the ideal time to return to Golan Heights. It will be a while before Hezbollah will be functional on any level. There’s some speculation that Israel are going to move in to southern Lebanon and sweep out the terrorist training camps Hezbollah maintains there.

And I also suspect we won’t hear a peep from the Saudis, The UAE, Egypt or Jordan. They all seem quite keen to have to more violent factions of radical Islam put of the area.

hezbollah is part of the government. The government orders pagers to distribute between its workers I.e nurses and doctors (&hezbollah). Israel is not aware that some of those that were for hezbollah have ended up in innocent civilians hands.

I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that civilians may have been standing near people whose pagers exploded. It's not rocket science.

I was just watching this on BBC News at 10. They seemed to suggest that Hezbollah had changed from phones to pagers in the summer as they were deemed 'more secure.' There was a specific shipment of these pagers destined for Hezbollah. It seems that these pagers have been intercepted, tampered with by adding a tiny amount of explosives that can be detonated remotely and then sent on their way.

What an extraordinary thing to have the capability to pull off. It really is extraordinary. And scary,

Interesting to see which users don’t care about the little girl that died, or can’t contemplate the idea that civilians have been hurt, because they are too busy glowing from this latest round of violence.

Hospitals did away with pagers ages ago - they were only really popular in the UK and US (certainly not Lebanon) and the UK phased them out starting 2021 and finished that project in 2023.

Only terrorists or criminals use pagers which is why this was such a genius move by the Israelis.
