Boycotting Israeli products/services

I’m trying my best to support the boycott. For those doing the same - what products/services are you using instead?

The hardest one for me has been giving up on going to Disney Paris next year. I had planned it as a joint birthday present, kids will be the perfect age. But I can’t stand in Disney with my kids knowing they support a regime killing kids.

Any good alternatives to Disney, or any other brand on the list?

The Z word has come out now...

Shall we start bingo....all in for a full house

It's like a modern version of Godwins Law.

@Sunshineonasameyday

I never said I hated Israel - please quote me.

Show me where Palestinians are happily living in the occupied West Bank, which is being eroded day by day by Israel.

I don't believe Hamas should be handed Gaza, I agree with a two state solution where the Palestinians are free to govern themselves, without the interference and persecution of the Israeli government.

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 18/06/2024 19:34

Hamas are currently holding the body of a 30 year old Thai man, not of Jewish descent, who they murdered on October 7th. They are refusing to acknowledge they murdered him and refusing to repatriate his body.

Yet some people here find their actions justifiable.

Hope you're not writing this on your phone, OP. A lot of mobile technology was innovated in Israel.

And to the individual who remarked that Israel has its hand in a lot for a small company, you're right. It is disproportionately full of hardworking, highly intelligent people galvanised by generational trauma.

Sometimes I think you hate us 'cos you ain't us 😂

Or a laptop.
Cherry tomatoes were developed in Israel. Better avoid those too.

@Sunshineonasameyday

I feel like posters like this can dismiss the October 7th attack in such a blasé fashion because they’ve actively steered away from the events, as if they were made up and not true. The gaslighting is insane.

@HelpAGirlOut1234 What happened on October 7th? Did you miss the babies executed and the tiny children. The rapes and tortures? Why do you think they did that? Was that acceptable revenge in your book? I’d love to hear your justification as to why it was an understandable action from Hamas. Go on, defend it.

While you’re at it. Why don’t you explain how it is understandable and not a war crime for Hamas to be holding women hostage they have impregnated via rape. What’s the totally inevitable, defensible motivation there? Why aren’t you campaigning just as hard for those poor girls and their babies to be released?

Edited

An eye for an eye, leaves the whole world blind.

What happened on October 7th was horrific.

What has happened since then, is barbaric. And it's genocide, plain and simple.

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 18/06/2024 19:36

Hamas murdered a Mexican tourist at the music festival they stormed in October 7th. Apparently that is also justifiable.

Sunshineonasameyday · 18/06/2024 19:36

Show me where Palestinians are happily living in the occupied West Bank, which is being eroded day by day by Israel.

My words were there is a Palestinian population living and thriving in Israel, over 2 million of the Israeli population identified as Palestinian.

I don't believe Hamas should be handed Gaza, I agree with a two state solution where the Palestinians are free to govern themselves, without the interference and persecution of the Israeli government

on this we agree, but it will never happen, every attempt to make it happen has seen Hamas push back and show they can't be trusted.

I absolutely don't find their actions justifiable.

I also don't find their actions surprising though.

Quote the person on this thread who has said October 7th was justifiable

Sunshineonasameyday · 18/06/2024 19:30

Are they planning to eradicate 2 million of their own population and the entire Jordanian nation then?

Just for you I'll add the last part of that UN definition:

'or in part.'

PearlKoala · 18/06/2024 19:41

Sunshineonasameyday · 18/06/2024 19:21

So you're a hypocrite then?

Gosh, you are very rattled over a bit of fruit and veg aren't you?

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 18/06/2024 19:41

@HelpAGirlOut1234 And yet you find it so hard to fully and completely condemn October 7th. According to you it was an inevitable result of Israel’s actions. Is this not also promoting ‘and eye for an eye’.

I’m not saying Isreal is right. I’m saying the situation is far more complicated than you will acknowledge. Hamas could end this now by returning the hostages. But they won’t because this is their glory. They don’t care how many get killed. Most of them are foreign fighters recruited for religious zeal.

So boycott Israel but perhaps try to recognise that what Hamas did was not justified. Not at all. And they are not victims in any way. Try exercising your logic filter and seeing that you are defacto supporting terrorism by downplaying the horror of what they did.

800 people were slaughter like animals on October 7th and you cannot bring yourself to say anything but ‘what about’.

Israel has been withholding, mutilating and weaponising Palestinian bodies, including those of children, for at least six decades. They are well known for it.

The Palestinian population are thriving? In mostly Arab only areas as they are not allowed elsewhere? In the poorest most poverty stricken areas of the country? With their children in schools which are separated from the Jewish population due to the racial segregation enforced by Israel?

Come on now, give over

You talk like Hamas are some put upon freedom fighters. They aren't. They are anything but freedom fighters.

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 18/06/2024 19:44

@HelpAGirlOut1234 Have you ever been to the Middle East? Or is this all from online sound bites?

Apparently the murder of babies- point blank shooting one in the head- is now ‘not surprising’.

Where did I not condemn the events of October 7th?

For your benefit - I FULLY AND COMPLETELY CONDEMN THE ACTIONS OF HAMAS ON OCTOBER 7th

I also full and completely condemn the actions of the Israeli government, both following the horrific attack on October 7th, and for the decades that preceded it.

However... Am I surprised that a terrorist organisation has risen up as a result of the treatment of the Palestinians by the Israelis? No, I am not. Of course that was going to happen.

Sunshineonasameyday · 18/06/2024 19:15

.

So how does the Nakba fit into this? This does seem an event that happened. Realise Jewish people were driven out of Arabic countries too.

How far back do you need to go before you lose claim to land?

Should Americans give back land to the native Indians?

Should Aboriginals drive Australians out of Sydney
etc etc?

Sussurations · 18/06/2024 19:48

@HelpAGirlOut1234 you said this

How anyone is surprised that the horrific events of October 7th occurred is beyond me... poke a dog for long enough, and violently enough, and it will bite.

Which kind of reads like a justification to me 🤷‍♀️

Do you really think the savagery on Oct 7 was unsurprising?

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 18/06/2024 19:48

Here is a list of the names of the dead from October 7th.
