New Hamas video of hostages

Muthaofcats · 22/05/2024 17:00

The new Hamas video released today of the female hostages selected as the ones they planned to get pregnant was so sickening and I wish I hadn’t seen it.

however, I am also wondering WHY it has not been more widely picked up and broadcast? I don’t understand the silence from the bleeding left; why don’t they see stuff like this and not just feel desperate and sick about those poor poor girls and their families who must be beyond devastated.

Watching the men in those videos helps to counter balance the idea of Israel as the aggressor. I wish more would see it and reflect or even just place those women of equal value to those in Gaza.

How is the world so perverse right now that this warrants a shrug from so many? Or worse, is viewed as justified !?

keenforhelp perhaps we should ask MNHQ to remove it?

I am sure that hundreds have already reported it as there are many "lurkers" on these boards too intimidated to post.

I think let it stand. It speaks volumes.

This.

I live in a multi cultural city and have friends of all religions and none. My in-laws are Jewish, though I’m not and did t convert. They have always welcomed and loved me. I am deeply saddened tfat they, and some very dear friends, are living if not in absolute fear then certainly in a constant state of unease.
I have been equally saddened and shocked by the attitudes of self proclaimed left and liberal individuals, who I’d previously considered friends and allies. and their callous disregard of October 7th. It’s almost as though they can’t even acknowledge what happened. All I hear is anti- Jewish, anti Israeli sentiment. If they can separate Palestinians from Hamas how can they not condemn what Hamas did?

AnotherDelphinium · 23/05/2024 22:12

If you watch the video you can clearly see where their hands are bloodied.
You can then see where they are cable-tied at the wrists, their hands are at their crotch/thigh area when in front of them or on their bottom when behind them.

Is that not what you are seeing?

If you’re not, dunk your hands in water and then hold them at the wrists in front of, and then behind you. See where the water goes. It’s literally physics.

Or think of the last time you had your menstrual cycle and bled through. How long did it take to get over the front of your thighs and then your behind? (Hint. Forever!)

@AnotherDelphinium Haven't you read the room?

Scirocco · 23/05/2024 22:16

Wow.

Just... Wow.

I actually don't know what to say.

LordPercyPercy · 23/05/2024 22:16

Haven't you read the room?

They have, and thus set out to cause maximum offense.

Yes they have, that's why they're doing this.

Wow.

Just... Wow.

I actually don't know what to say.

It's not just us, right? Like, you see it too? Absolutely revolting.

AnotherDelphinium · 23/05/2024 22:19

I’m sorry you just want an echo chamber. As @Scirocco suggested earlier maybe this needs to be on an “Israeli Mumsnetters” forum.

There is obviously no appetite for a genuine discussion. I’ll leave you to it 😔

A poster said that the surveillance girls put up military resistance as they were trained to do. I think they did not really have that chance.

The IDF left us like sitting ducks,” said Yaara. “The fighters at least had weapons and were killed like heroes. The female surveillance soldiers were abandoned by the army and simply slaughtered without having any chance to defend themselves.”

The report even quoted one of the surveillance soldiers apologizing for waking a commander in the early hours of October 7 to report that she was seeing “something strange.”

and then there was this added cruelty: the survivors were sent back.

Haaretz also said that many of the soldiers who survived the massacre have been told they will face sanctions for desertion if they don’t return to their posts. Many of the soldiers are dealing with severe trauma, having survived an assault in which friends and colleagues were massacred when Hamas terrorists overran the bases.

“We tried to explain that we can’t go back,” said a soldier identified as May. “We lost our friends. For hours we hid with corpses.”

“The commanders have not visited us. No one from the army has come to talk to us and ask how we feel. Our existence is simply ignored,” she said.

In response, the military said it had been providing support to the soldiers.

Fifteen female soldiers were killed at the Nahal Oz base on October 7, with a further six abducted and held hostage in Gaza. One soldier, Pvt. Ori Megidish, was rescued by IDF troops during an operation in Gaza.

Of all the shocking things in this war, what happened to these young women is one of the very most shocking imo

mollyfolk · 23/05/2024 22:20

@ChickyBricky - right now Isreal stands alone in thinking that it’s actions are justified. Even it’s most staunch supporters (I’m talking international governments) have urged restraint and increased dialogue and respect for the rules of war. Surely you must question authorities that ignore their friends and are leading Israel down a path of being increasingly isolated.

Scirocco · 23/05/2024 22:21

I don't think I suggested that anywhere...?

No she didn't, @Scirocco suggested no such thing. She was being supportive of these poor poor souls.

Bollocks @Scirocco or anyone else suggested this. Are you high?

AnotherDelphinium · 23/05/2024 22:25

Scirocco · 22/05/2024 23:05

@lotus786 I hear your pain. I feel those losses too. There are threads on the board and elsewhere bearing witness to what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank, and discussing those things. There's also the Muslim Mumsnetters board if you want some support in a safe(r) space than this board can sometimes feel. These young women are also deserving of a space where what they have endured and are still enduring can be recognised and acknowledged.

You suggested other posters went to the Muslims mumsnetters board for a “safer space”, but you’ve obviously forgotten that.

What about the thousands of videos coming out of Gaza EVERY SINGLE DAY? What about the 15,000 children who have been killed let alone the orphans, the wounded, and now the starvation and diseases that are killing them. What about their homes being bombed, while whole bloodlines are being wiped out. What about all the brave medics who have been slaughtered? The journalists who have lost their lives? First they are sent out of the north to the south to live in tents and now they are bombing the south, there is nowhere to go?? What about the little girl Hind who was in a car with her uncle, aunt and young cousins and the Israeli army shot at them killing everyone but little Hind who managed to get through to emergency services on a telephone whilst sat in the car with her dead family, She was begging to be rescued. Then the Red Crescent got the go ahead from the army to send an ambulance in to rescue her and what did the Israeli's do? They bombed the ambulance killing two medics and shot Hind who was only 6 years old. This started 76 years ago, not in October. The people of Palestine have been living in an open aired prison with Israel giving them no rights or chance of a future.tens of thousands of Palestinian people including children and disabled have been locked up and put into prisons with no charges brought against them and no trial but yet we call them 'prisoners' when they are really 'hostages'. If the Palestinian people had been treated as equals and humans and had rights then Hamas would not have become what it is. The Israeli government are the ones to blame for Hamas because they are the only other option for the people to support to try to gain freedom and let's not forget there is no Hamas in the West Bank and yesterday a teacher, a doctor and a young student were murdered in the West Bank, this is a genocide happening before our very eyes and all people need to do is look for the information out there on the internet and they will see it's all there.

Gees @lotus786 enough with the whataboutery on a thread about those poor poor girls.

The intent. The depravity. The savagery. The bestiality. It's heart-breaking.

Another disgusting blaming Israel for Hamas post. How is this being allowed on here?

I think she was saying this isn't the thread to discuss what the other poster was wanting to discuss, which was basically anything but the topic at hand. But I'd much rather that other poster come back and derail the thread to their heart's content than see any more posts from you on the topic.

quantumbutterfly · 23/05/2024 22:32

@AnotherDelphinium you've had lots of attention now go and play somewhere else.

I was just letting that poster, who seemed upset, know that space exists, as well as that there are threads available for discussion of the issues she mentioned. I don't think there is an Israeli Mumsnetters board?

Limesodaagain · 23/05/2024 22:51

@AnotherDelphinium
Well done. Good of you to show up and demonstrate for everyone how an antisemite thinks and behaves because some posters haven’t always understood the problem.

Limesodaagain · 23/05/2024 22:53

I guess that’s the sort of person who tears down posters of child hostages 😣

ScrollingLeaves · 23/05/2024 22:55

This is more about the epically tragic experience of the young surveillance female soldiers.

It is from an extremely detailed Haaretz article November 2023 you can find on archive ph. if you put in this headline.

The Women Soldiers Who Warned of a Pending Hamas Attack – and Were Ignored

<a class="break-all" href="https://archive.is/2023.12.15-190922/www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2023-11-20/ty-article-magazine/.premium/the-women-soldiers-who-warned-of-a-pending-hamas-attack-and-were-ignored/0000018b-ed76-d4f0-affb-eff740150000" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://archive.is/2023.12.15-190922/www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2023-11-20/ty-article-magazine/.premium/the-women-soldiers-who-warned-of-a-pending-hamas-attack-and-were-ignored/0000018b-ed76-d4f0-affb-eff740150000

“there are Hamas operatives who are constantly examining the places where we are less effective with the cameras. They really planned everything down to the smallest detail. Anyone who says today that it was unavoidable or that it was impossible to know – that’s a lie.”

In her words, ”They abandoned our friends to die because nobody wanted to listen to us. It’s beneath their dignity to listen to a sergeant – who for two years has been staring at the same screen and knows every stone, every grain of sand – tell them something contrary to what the senior intelligence officers are telling them. Who am I, some little woman, before a man with the rank of major or lieutenant colonel, for whom everybody stands at attention when he enters the room?”
