Admittedly, I really do not follow current affairs. I don't watch television or read newspapers etc. I know there is conflict and a lot of people have sadly lost their lives, but I don't understand why?

I have tried to read up on Palestine, Gaza, Israel.. but it's very confusing and seems to stem back decades.

Please can someone explain the history and current situation in plain, simple terms.

I know the history of the area, being that Israel is touted as the “promised land” of my people.
That history doesn’t take away from the fact that Hamas was born as a result of the atrocities committed by Israel in 1948.

The use of the word “war” turns my stomach, it cannot be referred to as a war when one side is indiscriminately bombing raping and murdering and the other is simply trying to survive.

According to them, the IOF are the most highly trained military in the world. Why then, have they not eradicated Hamas if they are the problem?
The answer is clear, Israel is and always has been planning to ethnically cleanse what is Palestine and turn the entire area into a Zionist haven.

Maybe you should spend more time having a look at the social media accounts of the Palestinians suffering every single day instead of investing the propaganda Israel and the west are rolling out.

Just listen to yourself will you. Are you really trying to justify the countless deaths of innocent civilians, it's most certainly ideal for the IDF to trot out that line after every single bombing despite condemnation from the rest of the world. It's utterly despicable. FWIW if you want to talk about human shields, it's a practice that the IDF have been employing for decades. Using Palestinians as human shields that is.

You’re delusional you really are. Sanctions have been imposed and I agree sometimes disproportionately. However, Palestine have broken every peace agreement ever made.

This is not genocide. We couldn’t stop
the Nazis slaughtering us. We done nothing but exist. Palestine can stop this now. The people elected terrorists Hamas. The good people need to take control and elect a new government.

I have personally witnessed Jewish Doctors and medics working in Palestine long before this. Israel have paid for and built hospitals.

How anyone can think that slaughtering people at a concert is justified is totally beyond me.

Israel has bombed every hospital in Gaza.

People blaming the Palestinians for what's happening to them, which may very well be genocide, is beyond me.
