Standing up for Israel

So, they have got to MN now too.
I just managed to read the previous post before it got deleted for being inflammatory. Not to me it wasn't but then I don't support terrorists.
Many, many people do stand for Israel and not for Hamas (and by definition their supporters; you know who you are).

I still don’t get what this has to do with my post.

You said “"Ah yes. If only the Palestinians would stop hating the people throwing them out of their homes and building settlements on their land."

So … “Ah yes. If only the Israelis would stop feeling threatened by the terrorist group that murdered and raped their citizens , hold women and children hostage and vow to destroy Israel.”

cupcakesarelife · 11/02/2024 21:45

I have reported this thread and OP/user for supporting war crimes by Israel . There is no reason or justification for murdering innocent people. Accusing people of supporting Hamas is ridiculous just because they are calling to attention the hypocrisy to murder by Israel. MN need to deal with these users and acknowledge that international courts have concluded that Israel is and has been committing war crimes.

stomachameleon · 11/02/2024 21:24

@ProfessorPipsqueak so Hamas are the elected and wanted representatives of the Palestinians and they are needed to protect the Palestinians then? Prevent them from their homes being stolen? Terrorise their children?

That sound somewhat apologist.

Hopefully they will gain the freedom they deserve. From people who hide behind them, tunnel under them, steal their food and prevent them from entering bomb shelters.

My post didn't mention Hamas.

I said that in response to a pp who said that Palestinians in the West Bank had to stop hating. My point being that if they are to stop hating then maybe Israel needs to stop the illegal settlements. Do you agree?

Murdered and raped their citizens … yeah Israel has done that as well
hold women and children hostage. Yeah Israel has done that as well keeping people in their prison without a trial for years (or a fair trial and tortured them in the meantime)
vow to destroy Gaza , yeah Israel has done that. In sept even Israel’s pm showed a map with no sign of Palestine in the map , all in the map was Israel

All of these things are terrible. Obviously.

Privileged?! I can't believe what I am reading here. Do you think we in Israel are happy about this war? Do you think we are so monstrous we would have any other reaction to Hind's death than sadness?? Yes, I am angry at Hamas. Yes, I fucking want them gone. I want them never ever to be in a position to be able to attempt anything remotely like October 7th again. I want our hostages home. But trust me when I say I and NO-ONE I know is happy to hear about the deaths of innocents. War is vile and it is sickening and it is painful.

How much have you demonised us that you could honestly sit and write "when do Palestinians get to 'eliminate' the people that they want?" - well they got that chance on October 7th, and again in the shooting attack in Jerusalem in November at a bus-stop my husband and niece use, where that oh so dangerous pregnant teacher died, and again recently in Raanana, when 79 year old Edna Blustein was murdered, and a load of schoolchildren injured. Oh and they tried another stabbing attack again today in Jerusalem. If that had been successful, would that mean we are a bit less privileged? If they hadn't evacuated 80,000 people up north and that rocket barrage on thursday and friday had killed people, would that be better? I felt really privileged last week when my young son went to a funeral instead of school, for his headmaster's son. Attack after attack is sent at civilians, the rockets aim for our cities. The "people [Hamas] want to eliminate" are all of us. My 4 year old knows the position to assume if we are caught outside in a siren and I know I would lie on top of her.

Support the Palestinians, stand up for what you believe in - I get it, I really really do, but please take one minute to remember that Israelis are people too, and this kind of rhetoric hurts.

I think both sides need to stop hating and committing atrocities

LivMumsnet · 11/02/2024 22:28

Apologies for the thread temporarily disappearing - we deleted it accidentally. Human error and all that...sorry for any confusion.

Scirocco · 11/02/2024 22:38

@EllaDisenchanted no child should have to know that, and it's a horrible thing that around the world, children who should be able to feel safe and not have to worry about anything more than whether they've finished their homework, have to learn about how to respond in a rocket attack, active shooter situation, etc.

I hope and your family stay safe.

stomachameleon · 11/02/2024 22:44

I'm sorry my post hurt your feelings. I'm not going to pull apart your post because you are as welcome to your view as I am. I hope Israel agree to a permanent ceasefire and to end their illegal occupation and blockade soon so you and your family can live in peace.

Edited

Israel ending their "blockade" and "occupation" will do nothing for the security of Israel. Until Hamas are out of power Israeli families like @EllaDisenchanted will not be able to live in peace.
You hoping of Israel to permanently ceasefire without mentioning Hamas or the return of the hostages shows you are anything but sorry. Shameful.

stomachameleon · 11/02/2024 23:20

@niceandnew what did you expect? Hmm

1dayatatime · 12/02/2024 00:19

@Limeandsodaontherocks
@inkworks273

"I said that in response to a pp who said that Palestinians in the West Bank had to stop hating. My point being that if they are to stop hating then maybe Israel needs to stop the illegal settlements. Do you agree"

+++++

Lets get some facts here: I was the PP who posted:

"I would also add that it also important for Palestinian to see an alternative path to hate and terrorism by making the West Bank a stable and economic success."

To which you responded:

"Ah yes. If only the Palestinians would stop hating the people throwing them out of their homes and building settlements on their land."

After being criticised by several others posters for your response you now try and clearly and deliberately misrepresent my post as somehow blaming the "hate of the West Bank Palestinians", probably because you know you are wrong and hoped that no one would bother to scroll back to the "pp" you referred to.

It is very clear that what I posted in no way blames the West Bank Palestinians, I simply stated that an economically successful and stable West Bank is essential to provide an alternative future to hate and terrorism.

I will continue to correct any further and deliberate attempts to misrepresent my posts.

inkworks273 · 12/02/2024 04:22

@1dayatatime I still don't get what point you're trying to make. How are Palestinians in the West Bank supposed to "see an alternative path to hate and terrorism by making the West Bank a stable and economic success"?

Have they just to ignore the daily abuse they suffer? Just roll over and accept being thrown out of their homes in the name of seeing an "alternative path to hate?"
