Standing up for Israel

Fizzadora · 07/02/2024 11:41

So, they have got to MN now too.
I just managed to read the previous post before it got deleted for being inflammatory. Not to me it wasn't but then I don't support terrorists.
Many, many people do stand for Israel and not for Hamas (and by definition their supporters; you know who you are).

Further dehumanising of Israelis.

BackandForthRoundandRound · 12/02/2024 07:05

Exactly.... unsure as to why some cannot understand this.

There are some Palestinian posters on here who don’t demonise Israelis and show some understanding for the terrible situation they are also in.
And then there are posters who just wade in with a ton of fuel to throw on the fire .

stomachameleon · 12/02/2024 09:26

@Limeandsodaontherocks I agree with that.

Such amazing news...

Amazing news!

And for those posters who were protesting here on MN against Rafah being evacuated. This is why Rafah refugee camp needs to be evacuated. Because Hamas terrorists have hidden civilian hostages there. Not because Israel are barbaric, or out to do evil and to commit genocide as you are so eager to believe.
Rather, Israel have asked for an evacuation of a refugee camp because Hamas have hidden a 60 and 70 year old Israeli hostage amongst the refugees in Rafah.
So please stop rolling your eyes when we tell you that Hamas are using the Gazans as human shields.

stomachameleon · 12/02/2024 09:39

@cupcakesarelife that's laughable and there is much wrong with your reply I don't know where to start.
There is plenty that can and should be reported on these threads that veers into supporting a terrorist organisation (which is not allowed in this country) no case has been concluded yet and Israel is a legitimate government.
If people don't want to discuss 'supporting Israel' then they would be wise to stay off the thread.

@niceandnew Whilst I am pleased that 2 hostages have been rescued, it also meant that at least 67 Palestinians were killed in the air strike and sea attacks.

One minute Netanyahu doesn't care about the hostages.
Then he does and he is not clinical enough.
Sounds like the hostages were in normal family homes?

Which is why you should be protesting for Hamas to ceasefire. The high civilian count is on them. They are the ones who are hiding behind refugee camps and hospitals. They are the ones who are incriminating the Gazan people by using them as human shields in incredibly populated urban warfare.

I'm not well versed in the nuances of international law but, surely if a refugee camp is being used to hide frail grandpa war hostages then it is no longer protected under humanitarian law. The ones who broke that humanitarian law was Hamas. Protest against them. Boycott them. March against them. They are out-rightly causing Gazan civilians to be put in the crosshairs of this violence.

Fair play. 4 months in they've managed to release 2 hostages by military means.

Shame about all the kids who died last night. 67 people in total so far I believe.

Newsenmum · 12/02/2024 10:30

I also don’t understand this post.

7/10 was horrific terrorism.
The attack on Gaza is horrific.

It’s all wrong and has to stop.

The issue the posters had was that there was no where for them to be evacuated to! That issue has not been solved. I welcome the fact that 2 hostages have been rescued but I also worry about the million or so people living (starving) in tents with no where to go.

Not because Israel are barbaric, or out to do evil and to commit genocide as you are so eager to believe.
Have not seen any evidence yet to suggest otherwise

3 hostages. People always seem to forget about the female soldier they rescued.

How many of those 67 were terrorists? And how many of them were killed by Hamas bullets / explosive devices? Or do you not consider that relevant?

I didn't hear anything about a third so take that up with the media I guess?

I've just seen footage of injured children and women so far. Maybe the kids were in Hamas? I don't know.

Edited out a silly comment I made.

I have not seen anything of the sort.

What I have seen time and time again, are posters dehumanising Palestinian lives

kirinm · 12/02/2024 10:42

Totally gross. The justification of killing and maiming, orphaning tens of thousands of people. Not an ounce of empathy or sympathy shown.

But wow, 2 hostages freed - not as many as the IDF shot but still.

Ha I think Israel have shown exactly what they are.

They are barbaric. Along with countless other things.

Targeting children and babies.

I think that it quite obvious that the Israeli Occupation have murdered and maimed thousands upon thousands.

Deliberately targering hospitals. Assaulting and murdering doctors, nurses, patients, ambulance drivers and the list goes on.

Snipers placed outside hospitals. Israeli Forces preventing oxygen and fuel from being delivered to hospitals which resulted in the deaths of innocents. (How would you feel if this were you, or a family member, in hospital and no oxygen when it is needed?)

Hospital being blocked off by sand. Nobody allowed in or out.

A church being under seige on Christmas. No food or water inside. Snipers outside targering children.

The list goes on and on.

The first rescued hostage was Ori. She was rescued back in October. I guess it's quite telling how few people seem to be aware of it. It's almost like they get their news from websites that would never think to write anything positive about Israel.

Whether it's 2 or 3 rescued by military intervention - it's a tiny proportion of the total 240 hostages

Particularly considering 110 hostages were released by negotiation

Yes, it's a shame Hamas decided not to keep releasing hostages in order to extend the ceasefire. Continued hostage release would have been infinitely better than all these needlessly lost lives.

Israel and Hamas were equally responsible for the failure of the negotiations and also breaches of the ceasefire

Is Israel ever responsible for anything in your estimation?

Yes, of course they are. But it wasn't Israel who decided that actually, those extra goodwill hostages we released yesterday? Let's count them towards today's quota of hostages instead 👍🏻 And then decided not to provide a new list of hostages to release, thus ending the agreement.
