Where is Hind ?

Desertrose2023 · 01/02/2024 12:33

6 year old Hind Hamadeh was in a car with her family, including her mum, dad and 4 siblings. Their car came under fire from the Israeli army and her whole family was killed. Paramedics from the Palestine Red Crescent were dispatched to try and rescue her. Nothing has been heard of Hind or the ambulance crew for 48 hours!

when will these appalling incidents end.

Please raise awareness where you can about their disappearance. Here is the recording of Hind’s call begging for help.

The PRCS released this audio yesterday.
In her last moments in an attempt to calm down Hind their colleague Rana recited Quran with her 💔

Why are you surprised about this? Surely you don't expect her to read the Book of Mormon ?

I think that comment says it all about the kind of people who continue to support the Israeli government’s actions.

Was thinking exactly the same thing.

Do you often group people together like this? Or is it only people who support Israel's right to exist that you like to group together and make assumptions about? Are we just one big completely uniform group of people to you? Or will you acknowledge that your comment was incredibly offensive and inappropriate?

God. Where's your humanity? If you don't have anything decent to say about the murder of a child maybe just say nothing?

I am done with this kind of pathetic nonsense at this stage of the conflict. Despising the murderous child-slaughtering actions of the Israeli government several months on, is not denying Israel right to exist. Never would I deny Israel’s right to exist. Ridiculous.

Well, your OTT off-topic response to me was not a sensible reaction so you deserve the response you got. What is ‘incredibly offensive and inappropriate’ is not being horrified and disgusted by the death of this child. But here we are.

Parkingt111 · 16/02/2024 13:02

It seems to me that the poster simply made the comment to antagonise.
Most people in the world are able to show respect for young children who have been killed regardless of where they are from or who they are

Absolutely 💔 I hope Hind was able to find some kind of calm and peace upon hearing the Quran read to her. I truly admire the strength of their faith in the face of death.

Alternatively, you could just admit you were wrong to group all of us together based on one antagonistic comment.

I've already shared my feelings of horror about Hind's death. I don't feel the need to do so multiple times just to satisfy an anonymous poster.

The op clearly stated that they were referring to people who still support the Israeli governments actions. Nowhere did they say people who support Israel’s right to exist. Unless you are implying that these two groups of people are the same? Now that would be quite the generalisation.

I was at a funeral this morning of a child, a friend and classmate of my child. The effect that the loss of this child has had on the community was clear to see. Family, neighbours, friends, classmates, teammates, teachers, coaches, parents of the children affected and many more. Hundreds of people all coming together to honour this poor child who will never get to see adulthood. It was a lot, so much grief and loss.

Hind, Layan,Sidra and 1000s and 1000s more children, all gone forever, all leaving the same holes in their communities that the child whose funeral I attended today has. It is incomprehensible how Gaza can ever recover from this. How they manage to put one foot in front of the other when faced with a level of grief that is unimaginable.

My child is dreading school on Monday and being faced with the empty chair of his friend. Gaza will have over 12,000 empty chairs if they ever get back to school. I know this is a bit of a pointless ramble but I'm just so sad this afternoon, so much pointless loss, so much avoidable grief, so many empty chairs and so many children like my son left grieving over them.

LonelyPainter · 16/02/2024 13:31

@Humdingerydoo Supporting Israel's right to exist and supporting the current military effort to obliterate Gaza aren't actually the same thing. Most people with a functioning moral compass seem to manage a modicum of concern about the deaths of civilians like Hind.

I was thinking the same thing because a child I know passed away recently too and the absolute devastation caused by that one death made me think about the thousands of children in Gaza who have been killed. The tragedy of it is incalculable.

I saw pictures in the papers today of children digging around in rubble, and holding out bowls for food and it's just shocking. Yesterday I saw a photo of four very small children, dead from a bombing. These children should be in school, they should be playing with their friends and they should have homes and families and all the comforts we expect for our children. They've lost their homes, their schools, their families in many cases, others have been maimed and over 12000 have lost their lives. And it goes on and on and on with no end in sight.

So sorry about your loss. The death of a child is devastating and you're right it has a far reaching impact. You grieve the loss of the child and the loss of what they could have been. I hope your child and classmates get the help and support they'll need ❤

How they manage to put one foot in front of the other when faced with a level of grief that is unimaginable.
Shock and survival. They don't have time to grieve yet but they will and it will be so traumatic and they won't get the therapeutic support they'll need

Actually, you are right. They didn't say Israel's right to exist, they did specify Israel's governments actions. My apologies.

The rest of my post still stands, that they've grouped us all together based on one comment, which is a ridiculous thing to do.

This pile-on is completely unwarranted. If you'd actually taken the time to read @Humdingerydoo's posts you'd see she has shown more nuance and more humanity towards 'both sides' of the conflict than most posters across all these threads (her post about Hind is there upthread for you to refer to incidentally). And she certainly doesn't make it all about her.

Fair enough. Apologies I was mainly referring to your original post I just thought it was a bit petty given the subject matter of the thread. No problem with people disagreeing with me.
