They've been claimed by whichever terrorist group they belonged to.

Yes but no one knows what they were planning or not planning. Or if they do know I don't think it's public knowledge. It's customary when dealing with human beings to take them prisoner and give them a trial. In civilised countries that happens anyway. I know Israel isn't civilised but they've signed up to certain international conventions on human rights.

Also you say above that I suggested that they weren't really terrorists. I never said that, I just pointed out that who knows wtf the situation was when they were assassinated in a hospital with no questions asked, never mind a trial.

"Over 30 bodies, executed at point blank range with their hands tied to the back, have been discovered inside a school yard in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, following the Israeli military's partial withdrawal from the area."

That's so sad and the injured just die a slow death in the absence of medical staff and aid 😢

One killed, ambulance destroyed in Israeli raids on southern Lebanon
Local platforms have shared scenes of the impact of destruction created by Israeli forces after targeting the village of Blida in southern Lebanon with a drone attack.

Raed Shteiwi, a spokesman for the Fatah movement in the northern occupied West Bank city, says that Israeli soldiers also detained 30 Palestinians since the beginning of this year.

“Israeli forces are isolating the city from surrounding Palestinian villages, and increasingly erecting military checkpoints to the entrances, as part of a policy of collective punishment,” he told Al Jazeera.

“Residents are suffering economically as well from the continuous closures, as occupation forces continue to close stores and impose a siege on the city. They even installed an iron gate at the entrance to Qalqilya, which witnesses daily raids and arrest campaigns.”

Where is this from?!

Because: a LOT MORE than 30 people have been taken on the WB. In fact, it is hundreds to thousands?

Is this pertaining to one specific town?

That's a different issue. It was being suggested that they weren't really terrorists and I was pointing out that they had been claimed by a terrorist group as being their own.

I don't think this was a sensible action by Israel but to be honest I think one of them being only 18 is kind of irrelevant if he is a terrorist. He'd be more than capable of killing.

I think the fact he was 18 and in a coma was very relevant, hardly in a position to fight back, or run for his life, or stand trial as a terrorist.

You failed to mention that those killed where Hamas members who were imminently planning a copycat October 7th attack. Context matters.

And you know this how exactly.
Were you there

Absolutely awful and heartbreaking. I'm really so lost for words to describe these atrocities.

The link I shared yesterday said it was unclear when they had been killed but the post you have sent they were bagged alive - just wondering how they would know? I'm not questioning that this happened btw.

There are so many claims of things that happen and taken to be true. They may be, they may be not, they may be partially true. Hopefully, all these claims will be investigated rather than used to spread more hate.

They say in war that truth is the first thing to go (paraphrased not exact).

Would you apply the same caveats to atrocities committed by Hamas - lest it spread hate?

anotherlevel · 01/02/2024 10:24

Warning very graphic injury so only open if you can watch.

It details the injury of a Palestinian whose mouth was blown off by a tank. He was interviewed then after being told he was ok to go, they fired a tank at him. The atrocities are endless.
