Nothing stops you from verifying something yourself. That' s what I do.
The "bits and bobs" are actual human beings, you know.

Groan.

How about the poster making the 'claim' actually checks it first and gets reliable sources rather than just posts.

Thats a CGSE level response, 'you go check my claim'. 🙄🤦‍♂️

@AliceA2021 may I suggest that if you're not happy with this thread, you're welcome to unfollow and please stop derailing the thread. Thank you.

Parkingt111 · 05/02/2024 16:16

@AliceA2021 alot of the information shared can be found on MSM
Wouldn't it be better to query something that is shared with reasons for why you dispute it or have reservations on it rather than a whole thread. You would probably get better responses.
And yes the UNWRA truck coming under Naval fire has been reported on MSM with the IDF saying they will look into it

BelleHathor · 05/02/2024 16:17

I think what is being implied is that sometimes there is further context around an incident. For example according to a video released by the IDF it appears like that 14 year old kid that was shot may have attempted to stab a soldier, before running away and being shot several times in the back. This is from a pro Palestinian account that updated their original post on the incident with further context.

https://x.com/MyLordBebo/status/1754510974793445486?s=20

Though let me be clear that there are still too many incidents, where no further context is needed as the situation is clear.

And being this the case is it ok to shot at someone that is already on the floor and that posses no real threat to anyone ?

Efacsen · 05/02/2024 16:20

@AliceA2021 thanks but don't think you advice is required on how to post on this thread or make it more engaging

And you still haven't acknowledged the fact that the IDF are shelling aid convoys intended for starving people

Asking for reliable sources to claims made in the thread is not derailing 🤦‍♂️

Or is it a thread for unsubstantiated claims and user beware that claims are made but ho check yourself to see if factual or not 🙄. That's bizarre.

I'll imagine I'll get reported for asking for fact checking as 'derailing' . Oh my!

Also, as journalists are not allowed access into Gaza we often have to rely on the footage that is being shown on social media. This is then picked up by MSM after. And it's quite evident what is happening and needs no further context as you say.

Absolutely not OK to do that at all. In fact in most countries the fact that he was already running away and was no longer a threat would mean that shooting him in the back would be illegal.

Suggestions to use more reliable sources than Bob from twitter duly ignored. Carry on as you were. I can see why fewer and fewer engage on here apart from the regular echo chamber contributors.

It's interesting that for a lot of these twitter links when scrolling a bit further down the link you often find more details, interesting details and often correction or queries. Twitter user pops up a clip, says this is IDF etc doing X then people assume it's fact and share. It's a quick site for likes and shares and many appear to have little fact.

I knew there was a reason I don't believe everything shared from twitter, Instagram and similar 🙄

Are you denying war crimes ?

Huh? I read it in the Guardian not twitter as I've already said

It was alleged he was shot on the floor. Another twitter post alleged he attacked soldiers with a knife and they then shot him and shared a clip of that happening. I picture and 1 clip.

Shooting on the ground after he was shot after attempting to attack soldiers with knife is wrong. He was injured and then no further action needed apart from removing of weapon, if there was one, then arresting or treating.

Actually, I like to check for myself if anything has been verified. I am weird like that. Anyway, what makes you think she/he hasn't?
I also find your posts passive aggressive. Not appropriate.

Asking for more reliable links that twitter should not require a 'are you denying war crimes' response.

🤦‍♂️
That's a reach.

By the sources used. Follow them and see what I mean.

Others are on twitter.

I have no idea what happened I wasn't there. Were any of you. Just assume what you read on X is true. I mean what proof is there that the naval fire hit a truck. Some ra dom on twitter says so and then it gets shared on and on.

Edited

No, it isn't some "random says so" It is actual video evidence plenty of it is actually live evidence.

There are mountains of evidence of the horrific crimes being carried out ~ and all of the previous crimes before October last year also.

They are "reliable sources" though...

It isn't a simple tweet from some random person claiming such and such is happening.

There are photos taken by journalists there and also video footage also. I could understand the scepticism if it were a random tweet from an unknown and a source which hasn't proved to be reliable, but it isn't

Time after time on this thread (we are on number 3) we get people trying to deny this is happening. Can we please ignore them and continue with the thread? There has been in the past people trying to take it down so please let’s not give a reason to mnhq as to why they should get rid of this thread.

I'm surprised to hear you say this - you certainly have given me plenty of unasked-for pointers on best posting practice, and you're very critical of any links I post. You're not being quite so critical about the many social media links on this thread though.

This.

I've seen the footage of the shooting incident, and my immediate reaction is what sort of monsters groom a 14 year old to carry out an act that will almost certainly lead to their death? Just to be able to use the death for propaganda purposes?

"A Palestinian paediatrician returns to work at a hospital in Gaza immediately after being freed from Israeli captivity on February 1, despite the torture he was subjected to during his 45-day detention."

Why is Israel detaining doctors in the first place? Bombing people, destroying hospitals and then detaining doctors when they are so desperately needed to tend to the thousands of injured people.

Where the Palestinian attacked police or some other armed service with a knife?

SomeCatFromJapan · 05/02/2024 18:14

Yes that incident.
